I have, unfortunately, soft bricked my phone and need a bit of advice in loading the new RUU.
I am trying to flash the stock RUU : RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_2.14.707.3_Radio_2.1204.123.18_release_270370_signed
rom.zip shows the following
Code:

cidnum: HTC__044
mainver: 2.14.707.3
hbootpreupdate:12
RadioVer: 2.1204.123.18

my phone shows the following:

the modelid and cidnum match , but the mainver and hboorpreupdate do not.
My hboot version is 1.36, which i believe was updated with the JB OTA update. I'm using stock recovery and bootloader has been relocked.
When trying to apply the above RUU I get the following error:
bootloader version error
Mind you it was still able to wipe my phone (including all my clockwork backups )

Sure is
You can't flash an older RUU.
If you need to run RUU, you need RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_3.14.707.24_Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_296434_signed.exe
You can get if from HERE or HERE
Base on your hboot version i assume u are already on Jb. But the ruu u try to flash is ics ruu. Try to find jb ruu.

I'm problably one in hundreds with and old hboot (and no chance to update from htc oficially).
So, I was thinking, if all endeavoru HOX have the same hardware, is there a chance to use any hboot (or a compatible one) on any device??
I mean, my HOx is CID bstar301, version-main 2.17.513.2, but as far as I see, I'm doomed to remain in hboot 1.12, and I was wondering if there is a chance to update my hboot using some similar, or maybe compatible one...

No way to use another firmware if you don't have S-OFF HOX you must to wait for offical update

you can't backup recovery. You can backup the rom but not the recovery. And if you asked this question and if you read the forum you will understand you may lose your warranty. You need to flash custom recovery but for this you must to unlock your bootloader. And when you unlock you lose your warranty. It is bether to do nothing with your phone before to read most of the important thread here and if you don't whont to lose your warranty. And the link in the first post is the same like your ROM
As additional info :
A backup of a non unlocked phone is useless, you can't install it back on it anyway.... (Need to be unlocked and have a custom recovery) only useful thing to get back to stock on a phone with a locked bootloader is a ruu. But that is not out there (the 4.18.401)
Stock recovery's can be taken out of official OTA zip files from HTC.

If you can get into the bootloader just flash the RUU - http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...G_20.56.4198.02_F_release_394971_signed_2.exe

so I relocked it and administator ran the RUU that you suggested. What is my next step? do I wait? and what happens after?
Thank you for all the help by the way
After you run the RUU - follow the instructions on screen - next-next-update-blablabla - wait - when the magic is done - phone will reboot a few time - phone reboot for final step - run setup - complete.
It worked. thank you so much. I was trying to restore to stock to just get lollipop and utterly ****ed it, so thanks for helping me.
Remove your IMEI from OP.
