back up battery stats

Is it possible to backup and restore your battery stats? I saw it was a feature on the galaxy s2's hyperdroid rom. It would make things a little easier (yeah i know its not that hard to just charge to 100% and let it drain) but it normally takes a day for that to happen and I can leave in the morning with 20% charge to get me through the day.

havent seen anything on backing this up yet but i much rather prefer to do a calibration after every rom or kernal flash as opposed to having a backup of the stats

I agree with Paul it's best to wipe the battery stats everytime you install a new Rom however if you did want to back them up then use something like Root Explorer and browse to /data/system and make a copy of batterystats.bin

Di you think I need to recalibrate my battery each times I reflash a rom?
- in the case I do wipe data / factory reset (fresh install)
- in the case I do only dalvik and cache wipe (like rom update)

yes u will need to calibrate ur battery everytime u flash a ROM..
change it till 100%..keep it on charge for another 1 hr..then calibrate it using the app..then you are done..

that is a shame! It take me 10 minutes to update Arconium ICS 2.2 to 2.3 on my Arc S and then it take 1 day to calibrate my battery!
Maybye I should ask the dev if there is a way to backup battery stats between rom update

Short answer is no.
the battery stats is deleted with the rom flash. the battery call is a hardware/kernel harcoded thing... sorta...
you do not need to delete the batterystats file android sorts all of that out on it's own.
i would look up the references from Diane Hackthorn (google engineer) but i am too tired
best way to sort out you battery is to use your phone. charge it when you want to.
lithium batteries prefer to stay charged than to be discharged fully.
*EDIT* also the batterystats file has nothing to do with battery life! all it does is tell you what has been using the battery for the battery screen in settings. ( android deletes it when you have a full battery neway)

whenever i install a rom and while discharging the battery suddenly slides 10-15%(not everytime)..but after calibrating this problem is solved..so i always calibrate after installing a rom..well i m not losing anything

sometimes i use battery calibration app or sometimes i do it from recovery

And what about a restoration of a nandroid? does it wipe battery stats?

Defy 7.2rc2 battery dips from 36% to 19%.

I have a strange problem. The battery of my defy running cm7.2 RC2 drops directly from 36% charge to 19%..that's a direct drop of 17% charge..and it always happens when it reaches 36%. Not before that..I have tried every method of calibrating battery mentioned on xda but nothing works. can someone help me with this issue

I have the same problem with CM9 on a red lensed Defy --30% to 19%--...I tried flashing other kernels (Obviously I've already calibrated the battery) and nothing works..

I have had this on CM9, MS2Ginger (all versions), some people have reported the same behaviour on MIUI. What do they all have in common? Yup - the kernels! Since Defy has locked bootloader, we can only use Motorola's stock Froyo and GB kernels. And now, when I think about it, I start to think the issue might be comming from there and that Moto did know about this bug, that's why stock ROM's don't show battery in 1% steps but in 10 - 'cause then it is hard to notice the huge drop.

Have the same problem to. It seems to be getting worse as well. Drops from about 62 to 49 as well. Also on CM7.2 RC2.

My MB525 also happens this way after about a year's usage. ?battery hardware?
I've tried :
1) wipe battery stats from applications
2) wipe battery stats from 2nd init recovery
3) wipe / format cache partition
4) wipe Dalvik cache
5) restore previous backup (while battery's running OK)
6) calibration of battery using > 3 different apps
7) wipe / format partition using "power" + "vol down" key then goes into the menu
NONE of them work EXCEPT
WIPE AND FORMAT ALL USER AND SYSTEM DATA !
I wonder is there a system bug that could lead to this phenomenon or just hardware malfunction - I recently bought another non-motorola battery BUT it works flawlessly from 100% to 15% till it reminds you to connect to charger.
It happens when I used :
1) stock Froyo 2.2.2 from official motorola site
2) rooted stock Froyo 2.2.2
3) CM7.2 RC2
Now I am using CM7.2 RC2

I confirm that this is happening not only on CM7.2. I have the same problem on stock froyo even after a complete wipe and a full sbf flash.
Moreover I used to have a 34-19% drop but since last week I have also another drop around 62%. It means now that I'm loosing one day of usage!
I really think that the battery is dying. I ordered another one, I will see if it's solving the problem.

I have two batteries, and one of them always drop from 15 to 4. I think is a battery issue.

cool. i jst created a thread yesterday to show same type of bug in MIUI stable GB...
by battery drain suddenly after 46 % the power goes easily.... dnt knw why this happens ....

I use the stock rom, both tried 2.2 (Defy) and 2.3.6 (Defy+)
both have the same problem with moto original battery

Try new Motorola Defy cyanogenmod 7.2 RC3 http://get.cm/get/2wY

The problem still remains with cm7.2 RC3

I have same problem with MIUI, WIUI and White Rabbit on my Defy.

if you have Defy red/green replace the battd file from system/ bin
with this one

use rootexplorer.apk to replace it
copy/paste
fix permision and reboot
can do a battery calibration and wipe battery stats again

Thank you dude it really works! No more drops from 30% to 19% in my case. I wonder why are CM builds provided with faulty battd file?

Battery percentage problem

Hi
Since i unlock the bootloader, change the kernel and install a custom, the percentage off battery available stay at 85%, i can't see when it decrease.
I try to make a wipe data and cache, wipe dalik...
Nothing change
I try many kernel same...
I re-install the custom rom, same...
Help me please

Try removing the battery for a while, more than five minutes.
If not, try discharging your phone complety, remove the battery and charge without turning on.
And had you wipe the battery stats?

Thank you for your answer, but i already try the first and second solution.
I don't how to wipe the battery stats ?
I'm not sure wiping th battery stat, will change something, i try with two differente battery, one new and one old.

To wipe battery stats you go to the cwm, and search the option, it is usually in the same place that the dalvik cache.
Hmmm did you try flashing another rom? Not the same, or there are a lot of custom battery mods in the apps/mod section if the problem is solely related to the stats. And, i dont know if it can do anything but there is a bug-fix file related to 0% battery problem, again i dont know if it can solve your problem but at least you can try.
The other option is to relock the bootloader and use pc companion to repair your phone.
Did your problem start right after flashing that rom or it took a while?

By right wiping battery stats is not necessary since it's wiped every time you switch the phone off...
And yes, please try this with another ROM and see if you get the same results.

I already try with a nother rom, it's same...
I relock the bootloader, it's same
I change the battery with a new one, it's same
I install apk find in this forum for bug-fix battery level 0% (fuel gauge fix), i can put it at 100% charged, i can't see when the level decrease it stay at 100%...

I recently just unlocked my bootloader, rooted my phone, and flashed a new kernel onto my Nexus 7 (2013) WiFi.
Ever since flashing the kernel, I realised the tablet does not charge more than 92-93% anymore, any idea how I can fix this issue, because I'm not sure if it gives me fewer SoT and battery life in general.

Did you Flash ElementalX or Glitch Kernel? Both the kernels have "Battery Life extender" option in which the battery charges till 93%!
Its Normal don't worry.. it will improve battery life though I don't use that option very often

That option isn't selected by default on installation of the kernel, and would've had to have been selected.. You would think someone would remember doing that

Lol! I know that option isn't selected by default. He must have selected! But he didn't knew the consequences of that

Flash the stock kernel to see if it's a hardware issue.
