Hi,
After taking a picture with the new camera application on Android 4.2.1, how can I quickly access to the picture I just took ? (other than switching to the Gallery app)
Thanks
Lex

Just swipe left/right or up/down after you've taken the picture

From what I remember you can set one that is stacked from a folder selected from gallery. Long press screen > add widget > gallery or photo frame.

Yeah I have tried the stock photo gallery widget, but it does not do timed transitions through the pictures. I have to swipe down on the widget to see a new picture each time
edit: found a pretty good replacement, wont let you pick specific pictures but does change pictures in set intervals

Hi Guys,
When you take a screenshot with your spen (click button and hold on screen), your screenshot gets opened automatically in an annotation app.
Any idea what that annotation app is?? Can you open a previously taken screenshot with that app ?

Go to gallery>any pic. Press menu. Select Edit.
It will take you to an app in Samsung Apps. Its called Photo Editor. You can get it from there the full app is excellent! With many more features
I have Photo Editor which I had downloaded from the Samsung Store. Is it that app then which opens automatically when you take a screenshot with the spen?

Yup.
Positive.
l think it is just built in as a part of the screenshot app itself. It looks different to photo editor, but you can do the same thing with photo editor anyway lol.

Hi all.
I have some questions regarding the new camera app in 4.2.
Why is there a difference between the camera I open from the lock screen widget and the actual camera out of the menu? For example when I take a picture with the widget camera, swipe to the left so have a look at the picture, I can only "delete" it. There are not the regular options like "share" or anything. I first have to go back, unlock, open gallery, find picture and then "share". Why is this??
Also, when I take a picture and afterwards have a look at it in the gallery, it actually captured more of the thing I wanted to take a picture of (I think about 10% at top, bottom, left, right). Has anybody else this issue?
And of course, the very frustrating lag when turning the device from landscape into portrait or vice versa, but like I read in other topics this is everybody's issue.
Thanks all!

That is for security reasons. Otherwise anybody who gets a hold of your phone could share your pictures anywhere he wants. If you disable your unlocking option (or set it to "move finger") you'll get the full menu including the icons for sharing.

This was most likely the reason.
But, correct me if I'm wrong, the camera can only be accessed via the 'Slide' screen lock, which isn't secure at all.

Yeah you're wrong. There is a huge camera icon sitting on the first page of the menu. I don't think anyone will miss that.
Why have the real time face effects in video recording been removed?

The camera actually take more than what we view on screen. That's annoying when I take a close up picture, it become farther view than what we seen on screen

you can also acces the camera using a lock pin. i didn't try with other security means (pattern, faceunlck, etc..) but i guess it's the same thing. personally, i like this feature a lot.
Anyone else have this issue? Mine and my wifes T-Mobile G4 have this issue.

Yes. While the camera app is open and the front camera is selected, tap the 'settings' icon (the geared wheel) and you'll see an icon that looks like two heads in profile. They will be both facing the same direction by default. Tap them so they are facing away from each other. Now, while the image will still appear on the screen mirrored, the resulting picture will appear normal.

So you guys never seen a mirror?
It is just a preference. Things normally have to be flipped when you use a FFC for selfies and video.
Hello,
I want the camera app on the S9 to open Google Photos instead of the default Samsung Gallery, how can I do this?

settings/apps/(select whichever gallery app you use currently/app settings/set as default/ tap this then tap "clear defaults". Launch your gallery app and give it permissions to be the default

That didn't work, the camera app just goes into its own gallery.

You can't change what the camera app opens to. That's fixed in the app itself.

Thanks so much for the help, @joeldf and @Youdoofus. I was wondering if this is possible with root access. I'm trying to do the same thing on my OP8T to change the shortcut inside Camera to go to Google Photos. Perhaps there's a way to 'redirect' all attempts to open Gallery?
