I'm not exactly sure if this works with our phone. to grab .pit files.

The Heimdall method might work, the nvflash won't as its strictly a Tegra-based affair.

not exactly sure. Some people including myself cannot use the t889v modem on our t889v's without it going into bootloop. I'm currently able to start my phone using a t889 modem, but I'm stuck to edge:2 network. I'm hoping to get a .pit file so I can re-partition with stock t889v rom hopefully fixing the problem.
Guys, One of my friends from SamMobile sent me a stock rom.
Here's the download link:
http://www.hotfile.com/dl/182237985/237ecbf/T889VVLALJ4_T889VYVLALJ4_GLW.zip.html
Tell me how it goes (GLW stands for Globalive Wireless(parent company of Wind)/Wind).

I am looking for a user with the bell SGS3 i747 running stock. (unrooted or ONLY rooted) running unmodified bell stock rom.
the current "stock bell" packages do not contain the modem and several other files. I have not seen any talk or evidence that the AT&T modem and the bell modem are similar or different. This is one of the things i wish to look into.
I will walk ONE user through rooting their device, backup every partition, upload those partitions to me (not including your efs and personal data) and flash a rom afterwards if you want.
these backups will become part of a project to completely restore every partition of bell sgs3 phones.

I have an untouched Bell GS III as well and would be willing to help.
The Bell firmware off Samsung's servers do contain the modem file. It is the NON-HLOS.bin

That file is 45 MB however the Rogers modem is only 10 MB that leads me to believe different

And what does that mean

it mean the two files have a big difference in file size or one file isn't a modem.. Which is what I'm trying to find out.

These firmwares for the S4 snapdragon CPU have some multiple in one files ex: the cache file contains both the csc and hidden files in one and looking at the NAND memory brake down im guessing there's more than just the cache that contains more.
Im guessing that the Bell file is bigger because it might be all 3 sections in one possibly. The modem partition is 60MBs though so perhaps Bell and rogers have them setup differently.
Also keep in mind that Bell supports fast dormancy on there network and that too could explain the difference between the modem file sizes. I don't believe Rogers does.

first off they cant bundle multiple files together for the modem as it is a binary file, not a partition dump image. or instead of guessing, find out for sure (as i am trying to do)
or just resarch some more and find that rogers and bell use the same modem baseband version from this thread....(post 2) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751313&highlight=rogers+modem

Anyone can have a guess or theory on things, things don't half to be 100% for sure that's part of discussing on the forums in the first place so don't have such an attitude about.
I know that they are the same baseband, doesn't mean the file sizes can't be different.
Forgot to add to my first post that when you're flashing the NON-HLOS.bin file in Odin it says it's the modem file, think otherwise then dump the PIT file off the phone and look. Its where Odin gets the information about what file goes where in the first place.

Thats fine that's just your opinion then too. Everything starts off as a guess and then people discuss to figure things out. We're not always going to have hard facts right out the gate on everything.

has this ever been resolved? because in my note 2 non LTE n7100 the modem is 12mg and i extracted the modem from the LTE N7105 note 2 fw and it also is 45mg. why exactly is there such a big difference in size?
I have a Note 2 SGH-T889V from Wind.
I've been playing around with a few roms and have been using LiquidSmooth for a while which is pretty good, but I would like to try out CyanogenMod.
Has anyone installed CM on a T889V before? Will it be safe to wipe everything, flash the t0ltetmo nightly from here, and then flash the stock T889V modem from here?
EDIT: Also, I would like to update my CWM from 6.0.1.4 to 6.0.3.0; Do I get the T-Mobile (recovery-clockwork-6.0.3.0-t0ltetmo.img) one or the HSPA+ one? I don't want to use ROM Manager to update it because it says my device is GT-N7105, which it isn't.
You shouldn't have to flash your modem going between ROMs. Searching for T889V and bootloop will in fact tell you it's not that good an idea.
The GT-N7105 is the international LTE Note II. The CWM for it will also work for the other LTE Note II variants, including the T889V. The one thing that does come to mind is that its build.prop will report an N7105 to scripts that check for device prior to flashing. Not usually that big of a deal.

So I have my S4 unlocked and am using it with Metro now that they started to offer SIM cards. Everything works great with the stock T-Mo ROM. However, I would just for a day or two like to use the Metro ROM. If anyone is willing to upload a copy or knows where I can get one, let me know. Thanks.
Also waiting on this anyone have any info. I guess what im really hoping for is a stock firmware anyone have a download link to one. or know of any info.
You guys should be able to use samsung keis .I used it to get back to stock when odin failed on me and it works .However you must provide the full model number and serial number of the device for it to work and it works like odin but its slower but it works it always a good when you have options especially when you need to revert to stock rom in order to send it in for repair's or exchange after you have downloaded samsung keis on your pc or laptop go ahead set it up and you will see the tabs at the top it will be the one on the right click it and follow the directions to the letter and if you've done everything correctly it will install the stock firmware and rom to your device and when its done it will reboot the s4 and your back to stock good luck

Hey thanks for the advice but for some reason samsung has not support for our device yet i installed kies before reading this trust me i tried looking everywhere for the stock firmware. in keys it just says your device is not supported. but what is weird is i dont know if i should call it a tmobile phone or just a knock off tmobile phone reason for this is. in google play store if on browser it asks u witch device to install to and it says the correct device number but at the end states tmbile. now even in kies it does this it says m919n tmb for tmobile. so im not sure what to do should i just flash tmobile firmware and then just unlock it cuz i mean from everything im coming up with it just seems that this s4"metropcs" phone is just a tmobile phone with an n and if thats the case a tmo firmware should work on it right??
Before you start flashing firmware's did you take out the battery .because thats where you can confirm that it is a sgh m919 if there is another letter at the end of m919 then you should do more research that way you dont end up with a bricked device. However if it's sgh m919 I would flash the M919 firmware for tmobile and call it a day and by the way you can get the stock firmware from chain fire's thread

Since you have a M919n, notice the N at the end of the model number, why don't you do a factory restore and save the image before you boot up again? Once you have that back up you can then upload it and share
This is all assuming you have the stock Metro ROM to begin with.

Ok, here's my story. I rooted my MetroPCS Samsung Galaxy S4. I wanted to unroot it but used the T-Mobile .tar file when I was unrooting it and now when I boot my phone, it shows T-Mobile on the booting proccess, though when I am brought to the lock screen, in the bottom it says MetroPCS. Does anyone know how to go back to original stock firmware? I don't know how to get it for the MetroPCS version.
Tired of waiting. Went with 4.3 GPe, haven't looked back. Owning a Nexus 7 I couldn't be happier. Still wouldn't mind trying out that Metro ROM for fun. There is a demand for it. Just saying.

Thx, I look foward to it, also I have a question. How exactly do you upload a tarp stock backup, my family member also has the galaxy s4 from metro and I could borrow it from him and upload it but the problem is I don't know how to.
Well number one you will need to root it and numder 2 you will need to install a custom recovery and number 3 once your custom is installed I suggest cwm and the person that needs the tar backup must also have cwm custom recovery as well .boot into recovery and do a complete backup .When thats done go to cwm backup folder and you should see the tar backup .now you upload it to where ever you need it and that s it on your part is done .Now it's up to person you've uploaded to and all he or she needs to do is download it and then move it to the cwm backup folder and when thats done your ready to flash the backup all should go well as long as the stock tar backup doesn't get corrupt .good luck

I did the opposite. I put a T-Mobile note 2 onto the AT&T network. I asked if I could put an AT&T rom in the T-Mobile phone and I was told it "could" cause compatibility issues. I went ahead and put the matching T-Mobile software in the phone.
Of course you should see what the more experienced folks have to say. I have been curious myself. I've been thinking about trying an AT&T rom in the phone. They did say the hardware is pretty much the same, but that it could cause issues with the factory installed software that remains even after a rom install.
Hopefully we hear from someone soon.

I know this is an old thread, but how do you do this? I've got an AT&T phone that I would like to load the stock T-Mobile build on. I've got a .md5 file for ODIN. Is it as simple as untar-ing the file, deleting the modem image, then retar-ing it and generating the .md5 file?
An additional complication is that I've enabled all of the radios using a Qualcomm utility.

I need to look and see if I can remember the files to remove. I know I did a trial and error thing and I can't seem to find my saved stock ROM. I'll keep looking for it though.
I assume it was the modem file, but I don't know for sure. The bigger question I have is how to re-create the ODIN file. I untar-ed a stock T-Mobile image from this thread. I deleted the modem.bin file, and tried to retar it according to the instructions here. I tried flashing it, but it's been "flashing" the boot image for over an hour. I'm about to reboot it, and try something else. Maybe tar-ing up each individual image, and flashing them one at a time? I don't understand why ODIN won't let me flash a .img or .bin file, but it'll allow a .tar that contains a .img or .bin? I'm hoping I haven't bricked it!

What happened with the process? I can't seem to find my old file(s) that I flashed, must have deleted it since I haven't had that phone in quite some time.
What I did was, I started to delete files within the ROM like modem, tz, hidden etc. until it fully booted.
Sorry I couldn't be more useful about this. I should have put it in my response thread on how I did flashing process.
I use the Sprint SlimBean ROM and I had no issues with it on my SCH-S960L. I had no issues with my mobile connection except for the fact that it it took some time to connect to mobile data services or even required a restart or Airplane mode toggled. This along with it sometimes did not switch between 3G and LTE when it should. Because of this I attempted to flash a newer Sprint Galaxy S3 modem. This completely disestablished any connection to services. It has 0 bars and cannot make calls, send texts, or use data. I have tried to reflash the ROM but of course, it did not help at all.
Now in the light of hope, I made a backup of the efs and firmware folders before flashing. I'm not sure how I can fix my issue with this but it was suggested to do so before flashing.
My baseband version was S960LWYAMD6. While I could reflash the old modem, (with help) I would prefer a better modem. (if there are any)
Any help is appreciated.
With best regards,
SirBenjamin

if you own this particular model, then you would know that its pure hell trying to find ANY files. this is the stock MD6 modem.bin ripped from my phone. ive seen people ask for this modem because they flashed the MD4 modem in hopes of getting their MSL and/or for the benefits of being able to use the 16-digit password. (which reminds me.. i have read of ways to port the 16-digit password from a .dll file in the phone? i have done loads of searching, but the password is NO WHERE to be found) and needed the stock modem. so for anyone that needs it here it is.
hopefully us ST S3 users will eventually gather up all the odin files to completely restore our phones when needed

I tried to flash the file chxnugs provided. I used both Mobile Odin and replaced the modem file in another flashable ZIP. Neither of them worked and I still get 0 bars/unknown baseband.
Honestly I have no idea what to do to fix this but it needs to work.
Again I say, all help is appreciated.
ok i extracted a fresh modem.bin straight from my phone. let me know if it works
Oh and just asking.. have you extracted the .bin file from the zip and tried it

I got the same results. I extracted the .bin but renamed it to NON-HLOS.bin since Mobile Odin would not accept it as modem.bin. Am I flashing this wrong?

Proby, I tried to do the other things you suggested. I can't update the PRL/Profile since I'm on a custom ROM. That is unless there is another way. I did not understand what you meant with the number you mentioned. If you wanted me to call that it did nothing.
As for chx, unfortunately it still did not fix it. This quick little modem update is turning into a nightmare. Not only that, but no sound plays, the microphone does not work, and DSP Manager crashes whenever I try to play media.
I really appreciate both of your support though.
Yay! I used Mobile Odin Pro and flashed a file from another thread. It may have been the file or using Mobile Odin Pro since it downloaded the correct driver. I appreciate all of your help, though.
