There is just something about Sonys displays that i like - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Its like my eyes are more attracted towards it, yes i know the display washes out when viewed from angles, and its kinda cool how my htc one xl has insane viewing angles, but looking straight on, the sony xperia s just looks better to me

anyone else just love this display? this phone once it gets jellybean will be kick ass

Indeed. Both look good at that comparasion. You should set a lighter image on the Xperia for a real comparasion.

Bravia Engine ftw.

I prefer HTC OneX screen. It looked like it's floating outside the glass. Sony's display looked like it's under the glass. Apart from having 720 pixel, I think there is nth much special with the screen.

In the store, I compared several displays with my Xperia S, none came close to requisite quality picture and brightness, even the so-called S3!
When shooting photos of plants, flowers and landscapes with my Xperia S and show to my friends, they drool with the image of the photo and the quality of the display!

Phone colour

I got my Desire from Handtec and the colour is supposed to be graphite.
However, the area around the screen is almost purple in colour, especially in sunlight.
Is this normal??
Sounds like you've got what others call 'Urban Brown' - all the colours seem to be the same tbh!! lol
Does you box actually say 'Graphite'? Mine, unlocked from CPW, just has 'HTC Desire A8181' on the box...
Mine also says A8181.
Is your device particularly pinky/purply?
Bit browny/purply/silvery - depends on the light really, like this:

Yes, mine is the same as the above!
Good news.... but this isn't really graphite is it... HTC seem to love their pink all of a sudden (AMOLED, screen bevel...)
Same here guys. Bought the so called 'graphite' one off clove.co.uk but compared to a picture of a graphite one mine really does look brown. Loving the phone so not a problem and won't return it but it's false advertising!
I'm waiting for a silicone case for mine. it'll cover it then. It's not really a problem to me but I wouldn't have used the word graphite to describe the colour...

Joke joke... nah it looks about right to me.... :-/.

If you use chainfire the textures might be downscaled depending on you config.
The screens look OK. There is just no antialiasing. And AFAIK devices like our phones do not support it at the moment. Have you seen some screens which look better ?

Our phones do support up to 16x msaa, use chainfire3d and enable 16x antialiasing and those edges will be smoothed out beautifully!

HyperColor in an LWP utilizing Fluid Dynamics algorithm.
Its fully configurable, there are 38 presets and 40 backgrounds, 16 particle types.
It allows you to create simple bokeh effect with your own color sheme, or some more complicated theme,
there are about 10 diffrent properties you can change, glow, viscosity, particle size etc..
Stir it well and have fun!!.

Looks nice, but all the Youtube vids are private.
If you want me to try it and give you an honest opinion, you'll have to give me something that doesn't lock me out of basically all the customization options.
Video is private..

Downloaded it, looks pretty nice. The preset screen shots are a little small tho when i was looking through them. Ill play with it some more tho.
How much is the full version before I even bother wasting my time.

done

Just got my 360 today, have a question regarding the heartbeat sensor.

Basically, I have a real hard time getting it to read my heartbeat. This goes for Fit, the Moto app & one I downloaded called Cardiograph. I noticed there's two green lights under the watch and one is significantly brighter that the other. Is that like that for yours as well or are they both bright? Just curious if I need to go back to best buy tomorrow to return it. I attached a picture.

Sorry for the quality, best I could do in this lighting with my nexus 5.
Besides that, I'm really loving this watch so much. Battery life hasn't been all that great though. I just got an update for it after playing with it for an hour or so as well. I've read people had better battery life after that, so I guess we'll see. Thanks for any answers everyone.
My lights look the same as yours and the heart rate works on mine.

Video optimizer on all the time?

Hey all,
I'm liking my Note 7 fine, but I'm not LOVING it, and it comes down to one thing for me: the screen just isn't as vibrant as past phones (Note 5 and S7). It seems that Samsung has dulled it a bit, the colors don't "pop" in that over-saturated way they used to. Playing with the screen modes it seems the Adaptive mode is the most vibrant but even there it's noticeably duller to my eyes. It's by no means a deal-breaker, but it's my one "complaint" at the moment.
Interestingly, activating the video enhancer works wonders - when watching a video! Which is nice... but I want that thing on ALL THE TIME! I actually mentioned this to a Samsung rep in the store the other day and his answer was "well, nobody's complaining about it". Well, nobody BUT ME I guess. And I totally get that some people never liked how artificial the colors used to look on Samsung devices, and it's why the screen modes were always a great thing. I could turn on the mode that made the colors pop while others could leave it off. I just wish I could do that with this phone, but I can't.
I know there's no setting for activating that video enhancer across the board but I'm just throwing it out here in case there's a hack or app or something I'm not aware of... and if not, maybe get some enterprising dev thinking about it For me, it's taking a nearly flawless device and bringing it down just a hair. Not drastically, but a little.
