Hi speed USB issue - LG Optimus G (International)

Does anyone else notice when plugged into the USB of a computer that the battery bar shows slow charge? At one point I thought I saw on my PC that error showed up saying something about a high speed USB not being connected so it working at a slower speed. I thought all PC USB connections are now 2.0 hi speed USB . Does anyone know how to fix since all my data transfer is now cut at half speed

Battery charge arent depended on USB version.
Charging via USB 2 times slower than AC

Hmmm... i have rooted my phone and trying to understand why when i use pdanet why does my laptop when i run speedtest it does not experience the same speed as my phone about half.
I thought it may have something to do with the USB connection

It seems like I've read somewhere that because this is such a beast of a phone, a regular usb port doesn't provide full speed charging... You need a usb with the special lightning symbol or a full ac charger... Not sure how that affects usb transfer speeds though.

Thanks I'll keep looking just trying to see what is affecting the slow speed data transfer and charge so I can fix it

SG2 acts erratic when plugged into computer

I've noticed that when I plug my phone into my dell laptop it starts going crazy! The haptic feedback starts buzzing and the keyboard pops up and down...Its like I'm touching it in 10 places every second!
Anybody else experiencing this? I can't even add/remove a widget when plugged into computer, yet when plugged into wall charger, everything is normal
Any ideas on a solution?
*I am using Juggernaut 5.0 and stock charger/data cord. I don't remember if it did this prior to rooting/custom rom but I believe it did.*
Thanks!
It's a grounding issue. Make sure your CPU is plugged into a grounded strip

Try another port?

[Q] USB data not working after repair

So, I took a device in for screen repair. Got my phone back, with a magnificent new screen. When I got home, I hooked it up to the computer via USB cable, nothing. No mount USB option in the phone, nothing showing in windows device manager. I try to enable debugging, nothing. I boot into download mode, still nothing. I think maybe I have a bad cable, so I try one, then another, still nothing. Maybe my computer's messed up. I try another, still nothing. The phone charges fine, but will not activate any USB data options, such as tethering, adb, or file transfer. All of these things worked fine before I gave it in for repair.
Does anyone have any advice on what I should do before going back to the store and accuse them of breaking my device?
Try to see if anything shows up on your usb port list in device manager in Windows. Try updating drivers from Windows Update.

Nothing showing in the USB port list, and all 4 computers have all updates. Also just noted that the charge light comes on, and immediately turns off.

Did you try another cable?

Per my opening paragraph, I have tried multiple cables and multiple computers. The same cables work fine on all computers for CDMA Workshop + Droid, and Odin + Samsung Stratosphere (Verizon's Epic 4g).
Yes you did. Sorry. Get a light and magnifying glass and see if something got into your port blocking data connection.

Yep good suggestion. If that isn't the case you should go yell at the Sprint people, they may have messed it up.

Nothing appears out of the ordinary on the contacts. I did use a can of "air" to clean out anything that might not be visible, but also to no avail.
Then they might have loosened it in the repair.

Weird speed test results..(wifi) [email protected]

Stock no root latest update..
My speed test results are what seems to be backwards.
On home PC I get the normal 30d 15u on phone its opposite .look at the picture from phone.

Whats wrong? Those are all wifi tests

Notice I said my results should be 30d and 15up.. and that my home non wifi reads correctly.. only my phone shows weird backwards results it seems. Was wondering if anyone else has this issue with the new software or with the app itself. Also my laptop shows 30d 15u.

If your home pc is wired to your router then of course it would tend to be higher. Average wireless speed is slower then wired speed.Try a 5GHz wireles N router and you should see a lot better speeds. Make sure the phone is set to use the 5GHz N protocol.
OK.. so I don't think u guys are reading it correctly..I know wired is faster and I do have a dual n router. There is no way I should be showing 36up load on my service if one I pay for 15max and two my wired and wireless computer only show 15 also.
Phone shows -15down and 36 up ..
Paid servise - 30down 15 up.
Wired connection 30down 15up.
Notice the phone is showing double the upload as I pay for and double what wired shows. Either something is jacked on phone or the app went to crap. If u don't mind test yours and see if the reading is what seems to be backwards on yours.

Those are the fastest uploads I've ever seen! I wouldn't call that a problem I would call it a blessing Try uploading a video (know what size it is) to youtube app and time it. Then do the math and report. Wont be as fast as benchmark because the packets have error correction and such but if it's truly 30 up then you should see at least 20-25up to youtube.
Once i get home ill try one. I think its a bug.. either app or the newest software for gs3.

Try uninstalling the speedtest app and then reinstall. That is odd I've never seen an issue like that before.
Have you tried going to speedtest.net website? You will need a third party browser (for example dolphin) and use a different user agent (PC). Curious to know if its the app itself.

Tried going to browser with ics browser + and when I do PC version it says I don't have correct player installed or what not. Will try a reinstall and see how it goes once I get home.

Try dolphin. And make sure you have flash installed.

That's normal depending on your area and usage / time.. I. E try at midnight vs during the day.
In general you will get faster downloads.. But that's not always the case..
When I'm around my house my uploads are faster.
When I'm at work, 20milea away my downloads are a lot faster

Need help connecting epic 4g to computer.

Please delete the problem has been solved by purchased a Blackberry micro-USB cable. Thank you all.
The epic is very finicky and needs a good cable like a Blackberry cable. Also make sure to use the ports in the rear of a desktop. Look in the port on the phone to make sure the connector is clean.

I'm trying to root my Epic 4g Fc09 phone, but when I plug it in to the computer nothing happens. I have usb debugging on, the cable I know works since I use it for other things, I've tried every usb port, have tried installing/uninstalling the software many times, I put the phone is mass storage. I've tried everything I could think of and still nothing. What can I do to fix this problem? Thanks!

I would also try disabling USB debugging. One of my computers won't connect if it's on. On my other computer it doesn't seem to matter.
Try going to your dial pad and typing ##8778# and make sure your phone is connected via PDA and NOT modem. I had same problem as you and this worked for me.
