I've had my TMO T889 for a couple of days now, and after mirroring my config from my trustworthy "Androided" HTC HD2, I noticed that the "swiping" feature of the Samsung KB stopped working.
I had installed TaskerJB and MissedIt, and both required "Services" to be turned on under the Accessibility Tab (Settings->Accessibility->Services). Apparently, any services that get turned on have a negative impact on the swiping feature of the Samsung KB. Turning the services off returns swiping ability to the Samsung KB.
Problem is, for me, I need Tasker JB and Missed it, among a few other apps that require services enabled. Right now, it appears it's one choice or the other, not both.
The good news though, is if you're rooted (I'm stock rooted), you can flash/install the stock keyboard from JB 4.2, and it works fine, even with the accessibility settings on... for those unaware, the JB 4.2 KB supports swiping, just like the Samsung KB.
Hope this helps.

Because right now, it is missing a couple of things that are probably available, yet I have never found..
I am using the stock JB 4.1.2 on a Bell network Galaxy Nexus
- I would like to be able the Google Now voice search feature without having to touch the home button.. can't I set it up in some fashion to simply say "Google" from the lock screen instead of swiping to the Google button?
- I would like to have the phone read out my texts messages.. my friend has an S2 that has a Hands Free mode that detects when he is driving and speaks out his emails.. can't find something similar for the Nexus.
and speaking of Hands Free.. when you go to setting - Speech output you have a choice of Always of Hands-free only, but I have never found a way to turn on or set up a Hands-Free method of using the phone
- and finally.. has anyone ever gotten their phone to work with the SYNC system installed in Fords? I wish I could use the blue-tooth in SYNC to talk to Google now on my phone..

Skyvi will read your texts outloud.
Point 1 would require the microphone to be active all the time, killing battery, so I doubt it will happen.

The hands-free mode is probably only activated when it's in the car dock.
A few weeks back I upgraded from 4.1.2 stock to 4.4.2 Liquidsmooth on my SGH-T999V. I've updated a few times since and am running 2014-03-28. The 4.4.2 transition has been quite painful. I'm lost control of my phone and key functionality no longer works. I really don't understand how manufacturers think it is ok to suddenly turn on SELinux with their settings, provide no means to change them and disable every venue I can find to configure my device or turn this off when needed.
1. Has anyone found a workaround which can get SELinux into permissive on this device? If I don't find a solution to this, this will be the last Samsung device I ever buy... All my Nexus devices all work well with 4.4.2, updated easy with OTA updates and do not have this foolishness.
2. On 4.4.2, my device keeps forgetting my wifi access points and it is getting tiresome. I'll find the device on mobile data, restore my wifi access points from Titanium backup XML and before the restore notification even completes I'll be back on working Wifi. Wifi lasts about a day. Has anyone found a solution to this or even what is causing this?
***Edit 2. seems to have fixed itself in recent nightly builds.
3. There are certain key applications which do not work properly on this 4.4.2 ROM. Some I gave up on. Others I can't. Specifically both ING Direct Canada banking application and Symantec VIP Access soft token both fail in a similar way. Basically after a normal splash screen the main screens of the applications have huge text and huge buttons. Elements of the UI are also huge ex. the menu on the login screen which used to be a single or a couple rows now takes half the screen. Basically everything is on at least 6X zoom. I'm not even really sure what is causing this. I've tried tweaking some per app settings but they didn't help. Can anyone suggest a solution?
I do like the UI improvements but that may just be from switching to KK Launcher. The device seems faster and my battery does seem to last a lot longer on this ROM.
Update
The apps which are huge zoomed are getting slowly replaced with fixed versions.
Forgetful Wifi access points seem to have been fixed in the nightly builds. Selinux remains an unworkable problem.
I am using:
Galaxy Tab S 10.1 (SM-T800)
TMobile S5: Stock rooted late May build, Xposed is installed, Knox apps are disabled (about all the possible relevant things I can think of)
So I fire up Sidesync 3.0 on both devices to try out this much touted feature. I get connected just fine, but I cannot operate the phone's touchscreen at all from the tablet. There's just no response. However, the menu/home/back virtual buttons do work.
A search has turned up empty, which included trying one of the level one script readers from Samsung support. They literally had no information about tablet to s5 connections.
Disabled my exchange administrator thinking it's some security lockdown on my phone, but nope... removed my account, rebooted, didn't fix it. I'm out of ideas.
I figure this is the place to ask. I'm figuring I'm right.

All I can offer is to say that I had no trouble with my Verizon GS5 and my Tab S 10.5 (not 10.1). I controlled it a little yesterday evening. Even made a call through it from my tablet. I tend to keep my phone up on the bar and my tablet with me on the couch so I have sidesync on the phone all evening.

After some searching around I have found I am not the only one. I was very hopeful a minute ago when I found I didn't have the latest version installed on the S5, but it didn't resolve the issue.
I got this resolved. The issue was with the S5, not the tablet. I needed to install the June S5 update. Ran into a snag where I couldn't install the OTA, so, it was time to bite the bullet and flash a recovery and ROM. Did TWRP + BeansTown's stock rooted (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2789850)
...and now it all works. A full restore from titanium and I'm right back in business, now with working SideSync!
Yes , here it is again but now on the G3 (Verizon). I have done all the many suggested things after googling this message yet it still happens (not always) but pretty regularly at boot up. Anyone else seeing this on their G3?
already done:
rest apps preferences
re-enabled download manager
uninstalled new beta Google play store and reinstalled the stock one
uninstalled swiftkey (just in case)
maybe a few other odds and ends I forgot just now.
Noticed after I installed google keyboard.
I uninstalled it and it works fine. Proper load. I hate this lg keyboard. Come on paranoid android roms
Yeah, I have that google keyboard as well for the new L skin. I wonder why keyboards have this effect. I remember the swiftkey on did this for a while on the G2. Well as long as I know that is causing it I might be able to live with it for now. It's just not knowing which was getting to me.
I really want to use LG's on screen phone software since my signal is weak while tethering and even the slight movement of the phone when responding to a text etc. can drop the signal. But from my understanding only AT&T and other non US carriers have the option available. Is there any way to get it on the Sprint version? I saw someone posted an apk for it in an old thread, but it didn't work for me (Couldn't parse package).
I'm running the stock rom, the firmware it ships with ZVA_01, rooted. I also have TWRP installed if I must use another rom to get it to work.
I have tried various third party apps, like AirDroid which took up so much bandwidth that I got little to no data from tethering, [email protected] which worked but wouldn't register clicks or the like, and I think it was called MyMobiler or something similar which registered clicks (but not keyboard typing) properly but showed just a black screen.
I really would prefer to use LG's OSP software because it's made for this phone (just a different variant) so it should work just fine, as opposed to the third party apps which were all hit and miss.
Thanks for any help guys!
