Stable but fast ROMS for Note II? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hi guys,
My buddy asked me to root his Note II, but he was wondering how much faster it'll be and what are all the benefits he can get out of it.
The benefits from what I understand/know from other ROMS are, no bloatware, free tethering?
Are there any stable fast roms for the Note II? I'm sure there are, but which ones are the best?
Thanks!

On the same ROM very awesome overall

CleanROM 2.0. Fast, clean, and stable
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda premium

I give a thumbs up to both ROMs mentioned above. Jedi has more options (multiview being the biggest difference), but you can't go wrong with cleanrom...the dev for cleanrom is probably the nicest, most helpful guy I have run across on any forum.

You probably want to go with cm9 ics, but you'll learn just to flash for your liking. You'll get the hang of it and be all wondering what the ROM you're reading about is like lol

Koodo V3 has been the best for me as it is pretty much as close to stock ICS as you are going to get. People also rave about Jedi Knight and Jedi Mind Trick although I have not personally tried the latter two. All three are from the same great developer and I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

I agree with the above... Koodo V3 is great. Might have something to do with being in Canada but I'm not sure.
I can't go wrong with AOKP Milestone 6 7/15. Highly customizable and rock solid. No issues at all.

Darkside Evolution ICS v7
Use the Jedi mind trick ROM. Its smooth and acts like a sgs3. Perfect for every day use. Also try the aokp build 2 jb ROM. Its better and faster. More customizable.

New to the Herc here and I went with JMT v9. Running smooth, no complaints and the dev is a good guy.
Try Darthstalker I like a lot more than the Jedi roms and it the rom with the best battery life that I've used.

[Q] To those of you who've tried a variety of ROMs

Hi there. As the title suggests, this is a question to those members who've tried a bunch of different ROMs. Can you please suggest the most stable one out of the ones that you've had a chance to try out, one with the least amount of bugs. Please don't go around posting annoying comments like "why don't you try a bunch of ROMs yourself". If I had time to try different ROMs, I wouldn't be typing this right now. I really need a stable ROM, and any suggestion is appreciated. I am currently using Jedi Knight 4, and it keep messing up my data connectivity every 15-30 minutes. It would go on an off non-stop every 3 seconds, and it would only stop if I turned the Airplane mode on and then off. It's really annoying, and I really need something stable, since the next few weeks are going to be incredibly busy for me, and I will need to rely on my phone a lot. I don't care whether it's ICS or JB, as long as it's stable and functional enough. Good battery life would be a huge plus, though not absolutely necessary, anything within decent range would suffice. Thank you in advance.
Have you tried to flash another radio?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
I have not, but that's not my only problem with the ROM, just the most annoying one. I still need something different. Plus I don't really think that the radio had anything to do with it. It only started happening after I flashed the ROM, and that ROM wasn't too different from the rooted 4.0.4 update that I was using prior to that, and I never had problems with my connectivity with that one. Either way, maybe I'm wrong, but in that case, might you suggest a good radio?

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Even though most of them are urging me to use a ROM that I already am using lol. Either way, keep 'em coming
It is hard to suggest what radio is the best. It depends on your phone and your location, but you can try Galaxy Note radio. For Rom, jedi mind trick X2 is the most stable.

I'll just add...no bugs that concern me at all. others may say this or that isn't perfect....like no wifi calling. bit I've used every jb rom lately....all are pretty good. liking paranoid android for its certain customization features...like dpi changing...even particular apps....plus finding its battery life just great!
I suggest to flash again the same radio that you have.
When I flashed All-dev AOKP version, my wireless got messed up in the same way as you are experiencing. Also sequential roms flashed after I noticed this issue did not fix the problem.
There is nothing to lose if you flash the same radio. Maybe only 1 minute of your time.
After I did this, I no longer experienced issues with my wifi connection.
I've tried many roms but i always go back to juggernaut its just stable and smooth its the daily driver for me. I wish team Kang will ever go back and edit that rom and add new themes and good update.<-------------- this is the answer untill they ever come up with a good stable release of jb roms they look cool and much more choices but a headache.

Most answers you will get on these type of thread topics are usually very bias. But I can't blame the OP, the question hasn't been asked before or I at least don't think so.
Well, to answer you question... I will take this opportunity to tell you to check out the TweakWiz ROM created by the All-Star Devs. Cheers!

I would have to agree this is by far the best of the touchwiz JB roms. I aslo like the original rom from AT&T. And as for the Tweakwiz! rom goes, there is a lot of post about it not working correctly, maybe they should not be saying that all the bugs have been fixed......

Stock ICS isn't all that bad. A few tweaks here and there, minus the bloat and plus some data/battery etc. tweaks and it's pretty standard!

Why does it matter that he isn't arond?
I always fall back to DSE V7 or V8 after getting beat up by 4.1.2 roms...
I don't care if he personally asked me to give his rom back I'm not giving it up until something better comes along and I haven't seen anything better yet, I get less than 1% battery drain while asleep on Darkside V7 after a little of my own tweaking.

Best Rom/kernel

Hi everybody. New to the world of android, roms, kernels, etc. I want to know various opinions on what is the best rom available mainly for battery life and debloating. I want my wifi calling and multiwindow. Also a good kernel for battery life. Just looking for opinions thanks.
from my Galaxy Note 2 using Tapatalk 2
Anybody?
from my Galaxy Note 2 using Tapatalk 2
Well if you want both your gonna have to run the stock rom for now with the latest ota. For the best kernel I really like asylumcore. Also in the n7100 forums you can find the neak kernel. Its very nicely featured and on a bunch of samsung devices.
You should try the Jedi X Series if you don'y care about WiFi Calling, and Jedi Master Series if you do. Trust me, it's amazing!

Cleanrom users, what do you recommend

Didn't see a similar topic sorry if there's one like this already. Those of you who use Cleanrom, can you recommend similar ROMs that focus on stability and speed? Scott said he's stop developing and I was looking at Liquidsmooth. Any suggestions?

Seriously...
Enjoy Scott's builds...
Just because he "stopped" development for the MC3 builds doesn't make them bad...
His roms are excellent...and until an official 4.2.2 or higher build is released for this device...you are not going to find better TW builds anyway...g
Agreed. Scott's ROMs are as solid as they come, but if you absolutely have to flash something and you want TouchWiz, there's Jedi and Skynote.

I was holding out for cleanrom 5 on my recent warranty replacement, but decided to try skynote. I'm only on day 2, but so far it's performed equally well, although it is a bit more bloated.
I was also actually impressed with that stock Portuguese(?) rom that Scott posted recently. If I change my mind about skynote, I might just go back to that, and try to de-bloat it manually the best I can.
I recommend posting this in the Q&A section since it will probably get moved there anyway lol
I used both Clean ROM and Skynote, both are excellent but I love Liquid!!
I actually recommend this thread be closed.
Sent from my CLEAN Note ll
Thread moved to the Q and A Thread, as that is where questions should go.
Thread also closed, as Best Rom threads are not allowed. Users must try and test roms on their own to determine what is "best" for them.
