I can't seem to get a straight anwser on this one. Google is telling me NO, ATT does NOT charge for domestic voice or data roaming but when I log into my "myATT" app on my phone, under plan details I see this:

Says roaming .79 cents.
Whoa. Double take. I thought you said ATT was charged with domestic violence. I'm no fan but that woulda been harsh.
No but if they charge me .79 cents a minute for roaming, I'm going to be the one getting charged with domestic violence and potential fire bombing!

So, my Dad lives in the dominican republic, and I want to give him my old sprint Evo 4G. Claro is a CDMA network down there, as is Orange, and both used to sell the phone down there. So... being a noob, how would i go about doing this so it would work? I have seen threads about unlocking for virgin mobile and boost, so, it sounds like it would be a completely different process? Can he just take the phone in to them? Sorry for the dumb questions. It is rooted already.

I am going to make a guess and say that alot of people here are not familiar with those networks.
Thats what I was afraid of... what kind of info would I need to gather?
I am getting horrible recpetion on my SIII for Sprint and my previous phone was the Sprint LG Marquee and i got pretty much full bars all the time at my house but now with my SIII i get 2-3 bars, somtimes 4. But my 3G signal a super super slow. I was reading on this forum about flashing different modems to my device but i dont know which one i should flash. how do you know which one will be the best?

Which ever one works the best for you. Everyone has different experiences. I tend to use the latest LI3 as I knew they are working on the network in my area.

I asked a T-Mo associate in the store, and he wasn't very confident on what the best settings should be nor what they meant....
I'm sure some of our guys do, and would like to know what those settings should be.
Thanks guys!

GSM/WCDMA but it shouldn't make a difference since we don't have an LTE modem in our phones.
GSM/WCDMA auto mode will automatically switch between HSPA/HSPA+ when available. If you're in a strong HSPA+ area, enabling 'WCDMA only' can help prevent the dreaded data "hang."
Phone is working fine, can make and receive calls. On a road trip through some remote areas I noticed there was no signal. Upon reaching area with cell service, my phone doesn't seem to "auto detect" it's back in civilization. Always picks up a signal after a re-boot, but that shouldn't be necessary. I figured I could force it to search for networks instead of rebooting, but when I go to the settings, the options are greyed out.
I'm on my 3rd M8 due to their #$&* build quality, all of them were bone stock (no rooting or ROMS) and all have had the search for network option greyed out.

We all know Samsung GS6 is capable of aggregating two separate LTE bands, like Band 12 + Band 4. But has anyone ever seen that actually happening using T-Mobile variant?
By dialing *#0011# you get into the Engineering Mode, where you will be able to observe lots of connectivity. you're looking specifically:
CA:NONE = No carrier aggregation
CA:ADDED = secondary carrier added waiting to engage in downloading
CA:ACTIVATED = your download session is in progress and secondary carrier is fully engaged.
