It could be navigation in general as you can use the buttons to navigate just about anything on the play

I don't know why sony decided to remove/disable the virtual button bar in ICS, it's really good for my fingers .
Does anyone know how to enable or install it ?
Thank you.

Sorry but I don't understand what you want to say...
Can you please be little more clear?
I have ICS 4.0.4 installed on my Arc S but I did not find any virtual buttons. I believe that it is a very good idea if Sony will live the original ICS virtual button for ARC and Arc S.
So, the question is stil there: are available the virtual button on ICS for Sony Ericsson Arc S?
If Yes, how they can be enabled?
Thanks
LE: Ok.. understood. Have to check on this forum not on telephone...
Thanks again!

Why would you need the virtual button bar, which would take up valuable space on the screen, when we have dedicated hardware keys?
Swyped from my SE Xperia arc (LT15i) using Tapatalk 2
For me and I believe for luutuan too, the main problem is the "back" physical button which has only one "action point" instead to have two as the "home" button have.
So, if I do not push on the middle of the "back" button it will not act and I need to push again...
If the back button had two actions points this phone will be great but it is not!
This is the reason that many people hoped that Sony will leave the virtual buttons on ICS as a option to be possible to enable them if somebody don't like the physical buttons.
But seems that Sony is going down not only on phone business but on laptops also Soon they will be as Nokia!
I have no issues pressing either corner of the back key or any other key.

Hi everyone,
I was wondering, with regard to the LT15i, is it possible to assign a different purpose to any of the 3 keys along the bottom?
with the advent of on screen button mods I can still get the 'back' 'home' and 'menu' options on the screen and thought it would be wonderful if I could have on screen buttons and then assign the 3 physical keys to do something else.
maybe assign apps to each one?
If its not possible, and you know why, please try to explain why rather than just saying 'no' as im really interested in trying to learn here rather than just asking random questions
Thanks!

There's an app called buttonremapper that let's you change what buttons do, but I can't get it to work on my rom :/
BTW the app has been taken off the play store but the apk can be found by some googling

I always feel such a douche when my questions can be answered with quotes!
I promise I searched before I posted.

No problem, some things are harder to find than others.
Is there a way to make the circle button not to be recognized as the back button on an jelly bean rom ?
Particularly on emulators like n64oid where the back button toggles a bar, it's really annoying
I tried modifying the keylayout but it completely bugged up several other keys
Any help here ?
Thanks in advance...
I would also like to know.
Gingerbread and ICS instructions too if possible.
you need to edit a keymap file , not sure where it is on jb
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk 2
even when u edit the keymap, not every app will detect it properly..., and u risking mess up other key, this is never ending bug story with un-official (non beta) ICS & JB Rom..
I TRIED modifying the keylayout files, but it messed so much other keys that I abandonned, perhaps I did it incorectly ?
It messed up the home key and most of the keypad, just for changing 305 to BUTTON_B
EDIT : fixed it : found a mirror of a fix, and it worked flawlessly thanks for the help anyway

Its already been shared. But it doesnt fix the circle button issue for certain applications that require the sony framework.

Where is this fix? because my circle button is fine now but the select button now acts as back. What needs to be changed? I will ask some of the Nexus 4 devs to make the neccessary changes.

Post #1 requires you to make changes to your build prop. Note this doesn't fix circle button 100% correctly.

Maybe there is something wrong with your sensor rotation. Have it checked
Pressing "Thanks" button will be much appreciated if user's posts useful for you
You are using a GB rom right?
I had that problem about two years ago. It happens when you wrongly calibrate your sensor. To change it just go back to the settings==>display (if it is not there don't blame me i haven't used a GB rom since a while and forgot many things). I am sure there are a lot of tutorials on that topic just google it.

Try to calibrate your phone's screen with an app from play store (Search: calibrate screen). Make sure your phone is on the surface (in condition you are NOT holding your phone).
Good luck!
I sent this message, from SPARTA!!!
I use flipcover in Note 2. I really like pick up in-calling by power bottun, not by home button. thanks. if you know any ROM or app solving my question, it is also great.

any app can work on my case?
there used to be an app called Button Remapper for rooted devices but now the Dev has stopped support for JB it was only till GB so need to look around if there is any such app try in play store see if you could find
or you may want to try this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...DEsImNvbS5oYXJkcm9jay5zbWFydGFuc3dlcmNhbGwiXQ..
Thank for your support. I search my concerns by google, many people meet the same problem, and so far there is no any solution. anyway I can try to answer in-call by shaking fuction. better than nothing.
I appreciate that someone share with us how to answer incall when using flipcover in note 2. so far I know answer call by touching home key and touching screen.
