No there isn't... trust me. I'm like you. I spend a good day looking for a software program or something like what I did for my s2 a while back. Everything out there so for the i9300 do not use it!!!!

Can someone please provide a rough history behind this. Why are the codes sold by stores, where do they get their codes, and why can't codes be faked or generated? Seems like everything is hackable, cept this

I'm also curious why we can't unlock the S3. I was able to unlock my SGS, what is different between the two that does not allow software to do it?
How do the companies do it?

Why is it possible to unlock the 9300 and not the 747? doesnt make sense to me?

Diff hardware. You kinda answered your own question... i9300 vs i747. Two completely different models.
Edit: you can unlock it via code but not software.

Hi bob, I would recommend a quick search. The short answer is there is no app that can do it at this time, and I would recommend trying your luck on ebay.
All i did was chat with Tmobile support and i told them i was going to Europe for a while so I would need to get my Galaxy S3 sim unlocked. As long as your account is in good standing and have never had a late payment, they'll grant you your wish. It took less than 24hrs also to get my code.
Try it, you'll never what'll happen.
theres a couple options
1. Contact Tmobile, if you dont wanna call them heres the link http://support.t-mobile.com/community/chat Just tell them your gonna be leaving the country for a bit like the guy above me said
2. Buy a Unlock code on Ebay or another site (Yes they work)
3. try that app it has an option for GSIII however theres no garauntees

Right, you are allowed one code every 6 months. I always use the same line "I'll be in Italy this next week so I really need it soon, thanks".
Additionally SG3 guru AdamLange has made a tool that works as well. Try it and let us know bob !

It seems unlockclient.com has a software method. Any idea how it works?
Just call up T-Mobile and tell them you want a SIM unlock code. They'll ask for the IMEI number. I got my code within 24 hours of my request.
Once you have the code is there a way to unlock without another sim card?

And I can add from recent personal experience that you need to have been with Tmobile for 2 months before they will process your request. I had only been with them a month so I had cellunlocker.net provide me with an unlock code (I think for around 30$). I also used them to unlock my wides iphone (oh NO....I know...lol) so I actually trust them and recommend them now....
Just called tmobile and requested a sim unlock for me and my brother and the rep processed both phones so I don't have to wait 90 days for the other code, yay!

I believe if you paid full retail price for the phone through T-Mobile or an authorized agent you don't have to be.
When I called Tmobile in July to request help unlocking my phone I was told that I had to be an active customer for at least 2 months before they could process my request. I wasn't (and still am not) a regular Tmobile customer so I had cellunlocker.com do it. It cost around $30, and took only a couple of hours to get the code by email, and now its done.

I have done this with every phone I've had. Call Tmobile and tell them you're going to China next month and you need to unlock it. They will email you everything you need.
thanks guys. I ended up getting it unlocked from a dude that unlocks it via remote connection for 8 bucks on ebay. Better than 25-30 on cellunlocker.net

I payed him yesterday around 3pm. I got an email with the instructions around 11:00pm last night. What he basically asked to do was download USB redirector and teamviewer and do the following steps to the phone :
If you have i747 t999 please do next settings:
1.Go to Menu - Settings-> Development - switch USB debugging ON (When message is appear press "Yes".)
2.Go to dial window and type *#7284# then go to "Qualcomm USB Settings" and select "DM + Modem + ADB".
3.Switch off the phone and power on with unaccepted card. !
I was kinda of hesitant to let some random dude have remote access to my pc so i used an old netbook that had no personal files and set up teamviewer. He connected, open usb redirector and less than 2 minutes later he told me it was unlocked and all i had to do was reboot it and insert any sim. My now using my straighttalk att micro sim with the sg3

....
Unlock codes are unique to each device. They are generated by the carrier are third party using the device's unique IMEI code as part of the input.

I just placed an order on cellunlocker.net. I will let you guys know how it is!
These guys have always worked and when they6 could not get me a un lock code(very rare)they refunded my money immediately.
http://www.cellunlocker.net/
I used cellunlocker on my Bell Note II the other day. Took about 3 hours and cost $33.
For my S3 I chatted with. ATT online support and they gave it to me. Havent tried it with my note2 yet.
Two and a half years ago I got my Sony Xperia X10 unlocked in two hours by https://www.mobileincanada.com. Back then I had a coupon and it was $5.
Now I have no coupon and the cost is $20 (+HST), which is still the lowest price I can find. I'm going there again. The speed of unlocking is (understandably) dependent on the brand, apparently HTC, LG and Motorola provide phones in seconds, Samsung is reported to take between 8 and 24 minutes.
I'll report back if/when I get my code.

Well it took them two hours, but they supplied a code. To enable it you have to insert a SIM card from some carrier other than the one you're locked to, and then type in the code.
And then I saw this:

That post contains a method to access an internal system menu, and to use the menu to sim-unlock the phone. The command to get the menu does work on my Rogers GN2, and I followed the steps, but I don't have access to another carrier's micro-sim so I'm not yet able to test it.
It'll be a neat trick if it turns out to work, and it means that anyone's GN2 can be unlocked for free without needing mobileincanada.com (or anyone else). And if anyone knows where I might find documentation for the rest of that system menu, that would be appreciated.

If you plan to keep your phone locked to att, I would check out ATT.com/global. They will have all the rates and junk. THey also have a travel guide which tells you with carriers will be compatible with the Note 2, http://www.wireless.att.com/travelg...ls.jsp?CIDL=440&MNC=410&DID1=527&DID2=&STEP=5. That should take you to the Lithuania details. Looks like there is three to select from and links to coverage maps as well.
Otherwise I would do a google search.
Well unlocking it does not really affect my phone in any way after I come back right? Cause I surely dont want to pay all that
You would just insert your att sim, and it should work fine.
You may have to unlock again using the code; I am unsure how it exactly works but you should be fine. Plenty of people do this all the time.

I'd say that after you unlock the phone it's permanently unlocked. If your doing it from the hidden menu!!
And if it's SIM unlocked, then you'll just have to pop a SIM in from over there then your good to go! No extra charges either!
No unlocking it just lets you use it on other carriers, besides the one it's locked to!!!

I am from Lithuania but at the moment staying in US.
Unlock your phone before leaving and after arriving to Lithuania get some cheapish prepaid card (they usually cost $1-3 and comes with some balance in them). You can top up them very easily online. And they don't expire that fast as in US.
Rates are insane, you can get 1GB/month for $2.5 with tax included, local calls and sms are 5 US cents a minute. For international.. just use skype, gonna be cheaper.
I don't know for how long you are coming but even if it's a week I would still advice you getting a prepaid sim card.
You can get 1GB/month + 300/month minutes + 6000/month sms with microSIM card included for around $10
Feel free to PM and I can help you out.
I contacted ATT via chat and first got the crap about the device being under contract and not able to get me a code until the contract was up.
I threw a fist, asked for a sup and the case is in progress (their system was down) so I should get my code soon.

This will depend on how long your contract has been going on. If it is new... no they won't give you the code. Also, while you are away your phone bill still piles up. There's a free unlock method here too in case ATT didn't pull through.
Have a safe trip!

T-MOBILE Samsung Galaxy Note 3 BAD IMEI

Hi, I recently bought a new samsung galaxy note 3 t-mobile on craigslist. everything worked perfectly fine and a few days later, my sim card didn't not work anymore, i couldn't make any calls or connect with my data plan. i asked t-mobile and basically the person who sold the phone to me called in t-mobile and reported it as stolen and not my phone is blocked from ever making calls and now it has a blocked imei.
I read on a lot of articles, is there a possible possible way to clean the imei or replace the imei or repair it? Please help. I'm really sad and I'm so lost. I want to be able to use my samsung galaxy note 3 t-mobile with my own simcard however, it's imei block. can someone be kind enough and helped me? I tried everything even the 1) Insert the desired SIM card you want to use unlocked into your device, and restart the phone.
2) Enter the code *#197328640# into the keypad and press send. 3) Go to Main Menu -> [1] UMTS -> [1] Debug Screen -> [8] Phone Control -> [6] Network Lock -> Options [3] Perso SHA256 OFF (after choosing this option, wait for at least 30 seconds)
overall nothing works? is there a place or show that can unblock my imei or someone repair it so i can use it on t-mobile. please help. thanks so much again.
Get your money back from the seller.
Other than using the phone on a different carrier than T-Mobile, there is no legal way to fix your problem.

I normally agree with most of what you say but not with the above comment. So long as the buyer calls the network and gives them the IMEI number and has it associated with your existing account then on "their" system the phone is now yours regardless of what the seller does at a later date. The network will not block it.

If you think about it though. Why pay some guy let's say 300. And then have T-Mobile charge me for the phone so they can get they money. It not gonna happen. I say about 70% of the phones on Craigslist are stolen or a smuck is trying to make some money and scam you then report it stolen so he get fast cash. It is a dirty thing to do but it does happen unfortunately. The seller would have to satisfy TMOBILE first.

When I sold my S4 on CL, the potential buyer called ATT and gave them the IMEI number and requested that this be put on his account prior to giving me the cash. He the buyer informed me that this way once the phone is registered to him then there will be no negative repercussions at a later date.

Yes but with jump program it no money down. TMOBILE will not transfer to a different owner. So it be like him getting the phone himself from them.

Agreed, this was ATT so Jump was not in the equation. I am thinking if Jump was in the equation then T mobile would not allow the phone to be transferred until outstanding balance is paid off.

[Q] LG G3 (T Mobile Unlock)

Will you be able to unlock the LG G3 in the near future?
Like through websites which gives you codes to unlock it for a fee?
My situation:
Currently in the USA but will go to Asia to continue studying. (Will get the LG G3 in less than a week from T-Mobile raffle)
how in the world would anyone be able to answer that question, since the phone hasn't even been released yet?????
I said in the near future.
I bet we have experienced unlockers here so I ask for their answers if it is possible or not.

Yes but how are they supposed to know....without the phone you are just asking someone to guess.... So here goes NO
Or maybe yes or who freaking knows
better hope they don't start locking them like sprint and Samsung did the note 3 .... No unlock but from sprint

yes, happy now?
unlock for free? i doubt it
paid for unlock, pretty sure you'll be to.
why not sell the phone and buy a phone in the asian country you'll be going to, you'll be able to get LTE there since you might not have the correct LTE bands for that country
If you snoop around the site, for info on bringing non-Tmobile phones in. It has rules for unlocking our phone. But they include "fully paid off phone" and minimum service and account time before they will let us.
If you talk to a customer service rep and explain your situation they might let you unlock sooner.

Some people have the phone, I had the phone but sold it and you will be able to buy a unlock code for a few bucks
-Buy the phone outright you get the request put in at the store. (What I did)
-Own the phone for a billing cycle and call 611/800-937-8997(T-Mobile Customer)
—Buy unlock code from eBay for $8(Non-Customer)

Bought mine outright at the store tonight, when i asked about an unlock code, guy said I had to wait 45 days or some crap. So was he telling me BS? Guess I'll have to call customer service to do this.
I requested an unlock code and cellunlocker and its been more than 4 hours and they still havent sent me a code.

Working great! I cant believe how fast you were where the "other guys" are still sitting on processing for me. Im gonna see if i can cancel it. Thanks!!!
need help
I used the unlock code that i received from the link in your signature..
when I put in the code, it said network unlocked.. BUT somehow it didnt work. cant make calls or anything. As if it was still locked.
So i went back into the screen where you put the unlock code, and now there is NO prompt for it.. it simply says you cant personalize this phone.
I only attempted the code once..
any advice?

Although i am not from the USA, i would assume metroPCS dont use gsm sim card. And that ur phone probably doesnt have that frequency band that can work with metroPCS
