Usually I have to force uninstall it on the new flash from titanium backup

is there not a better way to do this?

Darkside Evolution market problems

So Ive installed Darkside Evolution on my phone after a complete clean wipe. I can no longer install the apps that I have paid for through the market. I paid for Root explorer and Nova laucher prime.
Have the google wallet to prove it.
So I am wondering why the market does not see my purchases on this build. I saw that there was a fix but I can not download root explorer to fix said problem.
clear market cashe/ data in the settings, that might help if not do a clean wipe and re-intall the rom

[Q] No Gmail sync, No Google Talk access (Darkside Evolution 3 v5)

Hi, this is my first non-stock ROM so I'm hoping it's a simple fix. Using Darkside Evolution 3 v5 on my Galaxy SII.
My Gmail is not syncing and I can't get Google Talk to work, it says I'm logged in but I'm not "green" and nobody on my friends list is listed as online.
Deleted and re-added my Google account in "Accounts and Sync" but that didn't help. I'm using Google 2-Step Authentication, does that have anything to do with it?
Thanks for any help!

Did you restore Gmail and Gtalk from a backup after you installed the ROM? If so, I'd recommend just un-installing the app and re-installing it from the play store. Lots of times restored apps with data cause problems when going from GB to ICS, even if you didn't go from gb to ics at this point I'd just try to uninstall/reinstall.. Then check account sync settings and make sure they are checked off.

Yes I restored Gmail and Talk from Titanium Backup, went from GB to ICS. I just deleted Gmail and re-installed and it's still not auto syncing, it only syncs when I manually go in and refresh it. Also I didn't delete Talk because I don't see Talk as downloaded app so I'm not sure where to delete it.
I've had this problem randomly with titanium backup too. It's the restore that'd causing your problem, I'd bet. Did the phone sync before you restored with titanium?
I never found a solution, just had to manually restore everything.
Ive had this problem in the past. You have to delete your google account and then put it back.

Yes everything was fine before I rooted and went to the Darkside, I'll bet you're right. What's the most efficient way to do this, just wipe and re-install the ROM?

Well for me the rom works fine until I restore with titanium. I just downloaded all my apps again and let Google restore what it could.
So yeah I would just wipe and re flash the radio and the rom, then not restore using titanium. Alternatively you could just revert back to the stock rom you backed up before flashing darkside.
Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be a comon problem of more heavy hitters would have figured out a real solution.

Yeah I'm sure it's my fault and not the rom, just didn't know where I screwed up. I never flashed a radio, is that odd? I like how Darkside performs (battery and speed) so I want to try to keep it, we'll see.
Because all the pertinent data is kept on their servers, i don't back up gmail or voice with titanium, i download them from the play store if not included in the ROM. I have had to go back into the "accounts & sync" to manually turn on the syncing, but other than that no issues. Darkside cache wipe is your friend as well, amazing the "glitches" it fixes.

Ok I'll try a clean wipe and flash with no backup. The original instructions I read didn't suggest flashing a radio, but the official instructions say to do so, which radio should I flash since there are two options?
I think I'm on the uvle1 radio. As i understand it, you can use either one. Try each to see if one works better for you.

CM10 Google backup and restore

I did a quick search and while I found some links they were not useful.
My question, I have google backup & restore enable, but have never had it actually restore anything upon a wipe. Is this something that is automatic or something I need to trigger myself?
I tried flashing the Crespo modem all in one and got an error. Upon rebooting I had no signal. I rebooted into recovery and reinstalled 10/17 with the FC19 modem. When I booted up it was like I had done a data wipe. DOH!!
So how do I get it to restore my apps automatically?
Please post questions in Q&A

Google will restore your contact, mail and anything that related to google service after you login.
If google doesn't automatically restore, you can go to setting-google and sync it.
If you want to flash NS4GmodempatchAIO from epic modem
It's very easy
1.Flash the AIO
2.error
3.reboot recovery
4.flash the AIO again
5.profit
Now, if you want to dirty flash cm10, you MUST clear cache and dalvik before and after flash, to keep your data
did you make any backup of app? If yes restore it
If didn't , you may want to install one by one again
Maybe helps for you

My understanding is that Google would restore apps too which is why I asked the question. Everything else you mentioned restores fine, but apps no. Even though I don't care for Titatnium backup maybe I will have to entertain it again.
I've also got in a bad habit of not doing CWM backups out of laziness. I will have to make sure I am doing that at least once a week as well.
As for the AIO patch I did not try flashing twice, but I think I will stay with stock for now.

It should restore your apps as expected. Make sure you have logged into the Play store and have sync enabled. I never got a chance to try this on the Epic but have on the GS3.
Where do I find this option in the store? Going into settings I see notifications Auto-updates, etc. . but nothing about sync.

Sorry, I meant general sync, data and google sync. Maybe in accounts and settings, I am not sure. When you wipe data and login to your google account that is usually when the apps start downloading.

[Q] GMAIL question re MOAR rom

Hello All...I've been using the MOAR rom and love it. However the GMAIL is inverted, and I'd like to know if there's a zip or some other way to get back to the regular (not inverted) version of Gmail. Any help is appreciated...thanks!

I'm not running MOAR... is Gmail a System App on it? If it isn't a system app, you can just uninstall it and install the official Gmail app from the Play Store.
If it is a system app, you can use Titanium Backup to move it to a user app and then uninstall it. I honestly don't know if this will mess things up with other things in the Rom, though. At the very least, you could freeze it in Titanium Backup and then install the Play Store version of it.
What topherk said is right, alternatively you can go into /system/app (with a root browser) and delete the Gmail app, then install it from the play store and profit
Titanium Backup. Uninstall Gmail and install it again from Play. Don't freeze it just uninstall it.

I went to the play store and updated GMail. Issue solved, back to non inverted.
Thanks everyone for the help and input!

Yea i tried out titanium backup yesterday when flashing CM10.2 and it worked pretty good. Thanks!
there are also options when setting phone up after fresh flash for google play to save your data and apps and also re-install them by itself. its in the choices after you login to your google account. just read the screens. granted it wont restore your progress in any of your apps, but will install automagically
