[Q] Evo screen discolored

I just got a replacement Evo in from Sprint and the screen seems to be discoloured. It has a washed out appearance. It looks almost like it has a faded yellow tint to it. I've heard about the Nexus S having an issue similar to this, has anyone heard of an Evo doing this? It is hardware 0003 with newest software. Not rooted no custom ROM.

No and even if I did it doesn't matter, call sprint complain get a new one, done deal

That's my plan since yesterday, was just wondering if anyone had seen am Evo do this before.

[Q]Has anyone seen this camera issue?

So I'm down to one issue that I need to correct before deciding there's nothing I can do and sending it back for a replacement. I'm currently running AOKP Build 31 w/ the latest franco kernel and have also seen the issue across different aokp and kernel combinations as well as CM9 and a few other roms w/ both stock and custom kernels.
As I pull the camera up I get a line that runs the length of the screen, which is more pronounced in low light but still seen in all levels of light. It is both on the screen and comes through in pictures(seen below). It also moves when zooming, also seen by the pics, and varies in color but is generally light.
I'm on an Australian GNex purchased from amazon. My next step is to go back to completely stock and see the status, as i don't remember camera behavior then. If the issue persists it's probably getting returned.

Seems like it may be a sensor issue. I had a Canon P&S camera that had the same issue. Sent it in and they said it was a issue with the sensor.

Still looks like you appreciate a good brew with the Camera Problem =]
I'd definitely say hardware...and recommend a replacement.
Along with Left Hand Milk Stout.
Rouge Double Chocolate Stout.
Kona Koko Brown Ale.
And Rogue's Double Dead Guy Ale.

That is definitely not a software issue I'm afraid you are going to have to send it away for hardware replacement

Thanks everyone, I guess it's return to stock and ship it back now.
I'm definitely clearing out the fridge of any straggling stouts left from the winter. While that wasn't it, there is a Left Hand Milk left in there, for now at least.

If you havnt sent back already i had a similar problem and found that it was because i was using a 4.0.3 kernel on a 4.0.4 rom dont know why it affected my camera like this but maybe thats your problem unless you have returned to stock and problem still there ... then its faulty

Bad Flash? Constant Blue LED

I flashed a Venum Rom and realized I didnt like it as much as the Mijahz? Slim n Trim well I tried going back to that and after abou ten minutes of it just sitting there doing nothing I pulled the battery, probably a bad mistake. Well now all Im getting is a black screen with constant Blue LED. I tried Power-Volume UP/Down. It doesnt show up on my computer. Im pretty this phone is now a sexy paper weight. Does anybody have any insight on how to fix this?

i know when that happen to me it was bricked couldnt get it to go in to odin mode or anything.. even took it to sprint they ended up giving me a new one because i had insurance

congrats, you have a new expensive paper wight, hope you have fancy paper

Did you flash a GB kernel to wipe and reflash the perivous ROM? or did you wipe on an ICS kernel? (Blue light of death)

Sounds like you did a factory reset with the wrong recovery...just go to sprint and say it won't turn on and you don't know why, you'll get another one for free, if you have tep, 35 if you don't...ALWAYS USE ODIN OR MOBILE ODIN TO FLASH EL26 KERNEL BEFORE FLASHING!!! (I bricked once too lol)

Unfortunately it sounds like you are a victim of the EMMC brick. Mijjah's Slim-n-Trim is an AOKP based ROM whereas most Venum ROM's are based on TW. These generally require flashing EL26 CWM then flashing the new ROM.
At this point your best bet is to take it in and see if you can get it replaced/swapped.

I know where I went wrong when i flashed the venum it didnt keep the EL26 CWM instead it added its own and I didnt think anything of it. I called sprint and i sould be getting a new one in the mail on mnday

welcome to brick city... I bricked last week and can't afford the $100 deductible for insurance. I'll be sending mine to Samsung for repair soon.

Did the same thing last week. Brick city! You must pay attention to what recovery you are on or this will happen. Took to sprint since blue light of death would not let me get to anything. I paid the 35 and they exchanged it.

Weird Screen Issue With Dark Backgrounds

So this is going to be kind of hard to explain and I also can't post pics because you won't be able to see what I'm talking about. Just wondering if anyone else experiences this or if it's just my GSII. So anyway, to my point...I've noticed that my screen when I am looking at a dark background like black it seems to have very fine lines in it and isn't a solid black...more like a dark dark slate grey color. Also, when the screen backlight is on and the screen is black I notice these dark black patches or blobs. It's hard to tell these things unless you really look at it. Just using the phone normally one wouldn't notice. Just wondering though if it's the ROM or the phone itself. I'm running the T-Mo official ICS rooted ROM posted by Mr.X. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

New phone

Random reboots on custom roms

So I just went off of paranoid AOKPdroid because I was getting random reboots. But it was not the normal random custom rom reboots that you get.
When ever the device would get bumped it would reboot. So say, a small bump in the car, or the phone gets tossed onto the bed after a days work. It would do it when booting, when in CWM, and when in the rom itself.
I same issue would occur on tasks aokp rom as well. I've gone back to full stock, and unrooted the device. I was almost positive that it was hardware, thus me going back to stock for a warranty.
But now, on stock, I have not gotten the device to reboot when it gets bumped. Now I'm getting really strange behavior in stock (fcs on basic apps, Facebook, pandrow, ect.. Browser locking up, screen not always coming one) am I crazy? Can a custom rom really throw reboots when bumped? Or does this seem like a hardware issue...

Theoretically, yes it could be related to the rom and its drivers for things like the accelerometer. But since your getting the strange behaviour (even though not bump reboots) it does sound likely you may be having a hardware problem.

So you would recommend going with a warranty?

Everything you've mentioned sounds to me like its hardware related. I would get a replacement if you're able to.

I have been running paranoidkangdroid a while never had anything like that happen and don't know anyone who has. Reset counter and flash stock for warranty send in. Sounds like its a problem with your phone.

Thanks for the help! Sadly the phone is through a corporate account. So I have to him the boss call into ATT to get a new on sent out. This is going to be fun. For now I'm still using the stock rom on the phone, and I've been reminded how horrible it is compared to all the AOKP roms I've used...
