Dinc2 with viper inc - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

i have a dinc2 with viper inc1.1.0 sense 4.1. Are there any overclocked kernels compatible with this rom? Sense ui gets a bit laggy sometimes but i love the rom. The only time ity lags is when im on the homescreen. i tried the supersmooth fix but it is for the onex not the inc2. so if there are any kernels that will make my phone faster, please post a link to them.

Also if there are any better sense 4 roms or any good roms, let me know

There are no other kernels at this time.

Search the forum for the V6 supercharger thread. The OP has a pretty good explanation of what it is and how to implement it. It is a script that does a few different things to help the smoothness of a ROM.

I hate to sound like a noob, but can you give me a link to the correct one that supports my rom?

I have a related question about the Viper Rom. I liked this Rom but I was dissatisfied with its speed. I decided to revert back to my old Rom (areoevan's CM10). It worked for a few days and the suddenly, it started being really slow. I re-flashed the Rom only to find the same horrible performance. And now I find that any time I flash an AOSP Rom, it has strange bugs like this (ICS: when I turn the screen off, it won't turn back on, Jelly Bean: slooooooow). Viper works fine, that's what I'm writing this with but AOSP doesn't work. Please help!!!!

Go to the development section and look for the super duper wipe thread. Users are saying it fixes the issues you're having.

Txt Messages not being recieved?
Has anyone had the issue on Viperinc 1.2.0 where your texts and calls stop coming to the phone? I noticed that after about 3 hours of the phone just laying around that texts wont come through or show in the message box. Also you cant receive any calls. Ive used the rom on off and always wipe completely before using it. I also use the radio it says to use with the rom.

Viper INC answering a call

Sorry for my bad english, in this rom gsm/cdma switch work correctly or oly cdma or gsm?

Ive had the issue with text messaging before but never came across the call issue. Theres still a few bugs in the viper rom tho

New ROM..

Back story: I know the difference between most ROMs and have used MIUI, CM, and Myn's ROMs. I've been running CM7 lately and with this GPS still broken, yes I even did the fix by switching back to a sense based ROM; it helped for awhile, and the ROM just getting... stale to me I want to try a new one out. I liked MIUI when I was using before but with 4G finally in my area I don't wanna to drop it just for MIUI.
Question: What ROM would you recommend?
SalvageMod and/or Synergy when it is released to all. Give VaelPak a try, too. You should be impressed.
posting & replying via the XDA Premium app.
Thanks. I'll keep an eye out on the first two and will look into VaelPak.
Vaelpak is a great ROM. I used it as a daily for a while. I haven't been on his website lately, so I don't know if he's updated it in the last few months or not.
To me, the best Sense ROM is Koni's. Never had a FC or found anything that didn't work perfectly. And, it's stunningly beautiful.
The Giger ROM I'm using now is really cool, but after 2 weeks, I'm starting get a few minor FC's, which I notice happens with a lot of ROMs. Like they start to breakdown after awhile
Yeah the best sense rom to me is also konis elite series but right now im running the rom end of days.

How do you like it??
I never ran EOD, but Magnus's Destroyer was really the best CM7 ROM, I ran. Everything worked well, and that was months ago, plus he themes for it were outstanding.
I might try the Missed Me ROM, but no one's giving much feedback on it.

End of days is awsome great themes awsome custom transitions speed no force closes great battery life with tiamat sbc everything works perfect. Here are some screen shots
If you want to try a Sense 3.0 ROM, I've been using Sac's Kingdom ROM V4 for the past few days now and it is absolutely amazing. With the new GB kernel out and new radios, I've been getting very good battery life and its running really fast. Definitely worth a try.

100% functioning Sense ROM?

I've used every ROM I can find.. each has their own unique reason for people to fall in love with them.. Now my question to you is to help me out here.. I've flashed so many different ROM's this week alone I'm afraid to break it!! I love Sense roms.. but some are great performers but with little things wrong with them.. I'm looking for a fast, stable, 100% working rom that won't break on me and just function as it should.. I am running the last RUU rooted but I've been so used to Sense 3+ roms I just can't do it anymore.. I also love AOSP but as petty as it may sound I can't stand the camera performance that comes with it... Opinions on the best are always welcome but I'm looking for function... There has to be something I haven't tried..

I've noticed Newt's DINC2HDrls 1.1 is quite stable. But that's just my two cents.
I personally prefer Newt's Sense roms above all. I'm on AOSP right now, but occasionally I'll flash back to Newt's Incredible 2 HD just to mess with Sense. It's Sense 3.5 and I gave it like a 15-20% overclock and I didn't lag once. There's a great communtiy over there, and tons of mods to get you whatever you want from your phone.
Here lately I've been having issues with newt's hd rls 1.1 ... when I turn Rosie on and use the shortcut widget my HTC sense just constantly reboots... It's not an issue with the rom or a bug so I don't know what I'm doing wrong there..

Well the Shortcut Widget is almost entirely made by him since the official one would have taken so much work. I don't see that being a reason enough for me to stay away.

Virtuous Affinity is the way to go. Sense 3.5
Newts ROM is great too - but Virtuous flat out runs better - and this is with many email syncs and data syncing.
Try both - You may favor one or the other.
Try the latest CM7 nightly #134 with Aeroevans .7cfs kernel. Then get the MIUI camera.apk and download. You have yourself a totally customizable, stable, fast, nothing to worry about rom. That is always my go to rom
Ialso love virtuous for my #1 sense rom
Tap'n on VIRTUOUS incredible 2
RMK's gingersense if you want stock. SkyRaider Zeus is amazing with a ton of customization. If your looking for the newest sense rom RCmix3D is my personal favorite and ran smooth. Haven't tried virtuos though..
I love Affinity. Newts Roms are nice until he gives up on them. However his HD rom kept giving me problems every fresh flash and he isn't big on helping

+1 for Affinity.
Running the latest one and it's excellent. Sense 3.5 is great.
Have you tried TSM GingerbangSense 3.0? I'm new to Inc2, but it seems very stock and very stable...I had to check the bootanimation to make sure it wasn't stock!
As you all know I love miui...it has beauty like a sense Rom, stability, and its fast as hell...I recommend miui build 1.10.28..very stable and customizable.

I had really good luck with the HD roms and Unity for Sense based, but I do go back to MIUI or Liquid for AOSP once in a while.
I think the next on my list to try is Affinity.
I've tried nearly every rom available and am back to inc2hd. It just seems the most polished to me. Can't stand aosp after having all the awesome perks of sense. Though I do like Miui.

For those who have used it, how good is Skyraider Zeus? I have tried Skyraider 4.3 on my DInc, and I have to say it's my fave alt ROM. I am running Jermaine's de-bloated stock + on my DInc now. Obviously also a Sense fan, so it would be good to get opinions from people who've used it.

100% stable, with amazing features you won't find in any other ROM - SkyRaider Zeus.
If you want to explore the new Sense versions, NEWT's Incredible H RLS1.1 is the way to go as it's Sense 3.5
If you'd like to try a Sense 3.0 ROM I would suggest nitsuj17's TSM Trinity ROM
Or NEWT has a few options for Sense 3.0 Including his Inc3d ROM, and his Incredible sensation ROM, I personally dislike Sense 3.5 and think Sense 3.0 is a better choice, but SkyRaider Zeus is the best Sense ROM I've ever ran. I would highly suggest that as an everyday ROM.

Zeus 1.3 is honestly the best Sense ROM I've ever ran. I also used skyraider 4.3 for my Incredible1, and absolutely loved it, Zeus is basically that ROM on steroids. The options that are included into the ROM are simply incredible. I also get the best battery life on this ROM out of the rest.
My vote goes for skyraider Zeus. Most stable rom I've ever used on any phone, also very customizable. That was the only rom that could get me away from MIUI (only bug in MIUI that I run into is having no voice commands while connected to Bluetooth)

Are you looking to upgrade to 2.3 or stick with 2.2?
If you want to stick with 2.2, my vote is for SkyRaider 4.3 on the Team Bamf site. It is my all-time favorite. I don't use it anymore simply because it is still 2.2.
I've got no advice on sense 2.3, as I use AOSP now.
I gotta have me some notification toggles (which SkyRaider has)....
+1
Skyraider is an excellently built ROM and is extremely stable.

i just installed the stock+ rom... so far so good.
i like the stock phone but wanted to fix things like ext4 to fix the low memory issues which lead me to needing non-stock kernel. stock+ rom / kernel got installed this morning and so far so good!
Did you try the messaging icon under all apps? Sometimes I have to remove the messaging icon on the main screen and drag the all-apps one back to the front screen. Then all is fine again...not sure why???
I've personally tried a few Sense 3.5 ROMs and the upgrades to the interface are really slick. I'd definitely recommend giving a couple of them a shot.
Try Nils Business Gingersense 3.5 or Prime XL 3D to get a feel for it.

[Q] Help: Suggest best sense-less One X ROM?

Most of the roms seem to have retained Sense 4. And the Sense roms seem to be updated more frequently.
I like the new Sense but want to try something different. I'm coming from Android Revolution which I like very much.
Want a ROM with lots of improvements to optimize performance, smoothness and speed, based on the latest ICS version, with bone-stock APKs and no bloatware.
Suggestions? What are my best couple options even....?
I'd recommend LeDrOiD and Android Revolution HD, both are updated frequently. But since HTC have not released any new software lately, there isn't much for the developers to do.
Both ROM can have Sense removed, LeDrOiD is easier in this regard.
It seems kernel is currently the hot development area.
Edit, posted irreverent info.
Thanks! I was asking about ROMS not Launchers though.
Ideally I would like a sense-less ROM that came with the stock ICS launcher (even over Apex or Nova).

What's the best ROM for the Ding in your opinion??

Soo. I've been flashing ROM's for a while now, well I've gone through a Sanyo zip, a kyocera milano, a ghetto ass "Sawee Pad" that i cant do crap woth really, then i got my incredible and ive gone from cm7 v13 to cm9 Kangs, to Peter Alfonso's Pete_Inc_03_10_12, to few others. The thing is, I really like ICS, but everything I've flashed in some way or another was unstable and I dreaded installing apps or anything else for that matter. So I've been back to cm7 v13 for about a month now.. what's the best overall most stable ICS ROM out there for the incredible? I don't care about fancy schmancy customizations. I want something basic and very stable (or just super awesome thats stable) I would love to hear your opinions, pros/cons. I will be researching most of the night I'm sure. I use my Ding for a lot of things, gaming/movies/music/inet surfing.. just wanna flash a new ROM and wanting your opinions. Thanks

I am on cm9 unofficial. Its highly stable, at least for me and fast too. Am running stock kernel.
Hope it helps you.
Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk
If you keep the stock kernel, they are almost all stable. The different kernels will cause some phone to freeze when plugging and unplugging.
It's hard to keep it all straight but I believe you need a 3rd party video app to record video ( video cam illusions) in most ics roms. Build 38 and 39 of AOKP do not work on the dinc, both cm9's and the new abduction are really smooth. Just flash and enjoy, that's my motto.
Ah so that's why it didn't work. CM 7.2 is much, much quicker though.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA
Well after a few hours of reading, imma try and flash in-sensative minimalist sometime today. I know its not ICS, but it'll do. Imma keep reading and see what I come across, maybe ill try a different version of cm9 and see if I can find something more stable than what I had.

I've been using Hanger's Abduction for months now. Installed the latest last night and each release gets better. Everything seems to work for me (I don't use the video camera so I can't talk about that). Previous versions there was some hanging when unplugging from charger, and a few random quick reboots. So far so good on latest but it has only been 7 hours...

For all out stability without any misfeatures, CM7 w/ stock kernel. If an alternate kernel is stable for you, then great.
That said, invisiblek's ICS builds are getting there, but there's still some weirdness here and there.
I've heard that the latest evervolv ICS alpha is really nice, and they've got the video camera working -- I haven't tried it myself though. Videocam Illusions just records in MJPEG -- you've got to be desperate for ICS + videocam to want to use that.
Throwing my vote in for pures anthem ROM. Buttery smooth, fast, and stable. Oh, and pretty. only issue I have is that sometimes 3g disappears, and a restart is required to fix it.
Sent from my Incredible using xda app-developers app
I would love to be on ICS ROM as well...but I have some misgivings about it. Even if some ICS ROMs may be stable, from what I see, they are still slower and grab more battery then our GB ROMs. That's a deal breaker right there. I don't understand why people want ICS soooo badly on their Dinc if its gonna be like that. Stable is great...but its gonna hog more battery
I'm on the latest RC of CM7.2 with Chad/Tiny Incredikernel and couldn't be happier. Stable, Fast, and battery efficient.....
I have an extended battery and get the same or better. Dinc accessories are getting cheap on amazon. I can get about 18 he with 3hr + of screen on.

I agree with previous posts about ICS roms having poor battery life. From what I've tried, they do not have anywhere near as many features as cm7. If it is not possible for cm9 to run efficiently on the dinc I hope development on cm7 continues into the future. I run the latest cm7 nightly with incredikernal, v6 supercharger, kickass kernalizer, adrenaline shot and 3g turbocharger scripts. I also updated the radio to the new one in the general section. My phone has never performed better

Battery life is subjective and different people may have different capacity batteries at different points in their lifespan and different usage levels. I for one think it's decent, maybe not as good as cm7 but probably better than the galaxy nexus.
Oh and not to mention different screen types, AMOLED can drain faster than SLCD.
Which ICS rom is the most stable and has the most features working?

That's what I was leaning towards, thanks. I also am interested in the Touchwiz 5.1.2 rom and ParanoidAndroid, though the latter seems to not be ready yet (phone errors and fc'ing).
It's a little overwhelming coming in as a noob. I'm wanting to put some life back into my dinc.
Would the latest CM9 nightly be the best start? Anything I should know about? Is flashing a new kernel worth it, or should I stick with stock? So far I followed a guide here to get root, but I'm still S-On for now until I decide which rom to go with..then I plan on downgrading to get S-Off, flashing a rom, and updating my radio.

first thing first, get S-Off in your DInc .
idk the best start to try a rom, but maybe u can try an aosp GB which is CM7 or miui.
but if ur very interested in ICS UI then CM9 all the way. there is a lot of CM9 mod such as invisiblek's, abduction, kang's, and others, and there is also a combine cm9 + miui such as miui v4 ics.
its up to you which one u will pick, or ur gonna try them all (like me lol) just remember to make a nandroid backup.
happy flashing rom's

by the way, I was S-ON for a while, flashed an ICS rom, and had to go through ****s to get S-OFF. You can look near the end of scottys guide to see You can be as noob as possible, once u get CWM recovery, its as simple as putting the rom on your SD card, then going into recovery and selecting to flash it. I would recommend tiny's incredikernel HWA RC1

S-off'd and flashed the 7/5 cm9 nightly last night. Wow. Its like I have a new phone.
Couple things. Text input lags a bit. Anything to speed that up? Performance is pretty good overall but I feel like it could be better. Battery life seems to be on par with stock (buying an extended soon cause I'm still on the original battery). I also seem to be running a bit warmer than stock. Will a new kernel help?
