Rogers I747 (want to get back to ice cream..) - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Hi guys,
Yesterday I have install the last CWM and the CM10, I'm not a fan and miss few features that I had with my rooted ice cream sandwich.
I'm on Rogers with a S3 i747 (i747mvLLe8), and I'm having hard time to find an easy solution to just install back ice cream sandwich. I have looked at many tutorials and they seems pretty complicated compared to when I rooted my phone couple months ago (on mac, well I have both win&mac), which tells me I did not found the right way.
Any help would be welcome, thanks in advance.
Cheers,

I haven't looked through the thread for awhile but, am guessing it you might not find latest version of your stock firmware here.
Hope this helps.

Yeah that's the thing.. with a non-up2date stock, I had popup every few hours that was asked for updates, that's actually why I changed to CM10.

What if you put your phone into download mode and let Kies do the work? I'm not sure of the exact procedure but it is the forum somewhere.

Jb upgrade advice

Hi all... Stupid question time,
I've only got into custom roms etc and I'm running black ice at the moment.
I fancy a look at jelly bean so is it as simple as revert back to ics via my backup and ota update?
Will it matter that I'm rooted and have an unlocked bootloader?
Cheers in advance.

No. The OTA update will not work unless you are running IMM30D (which I doubt your backup is). Easiest way, just flash a fully-functioning custom JB stock rom. There are more than a few found in the development sections of this forum.

Cheers Anton I'll start hunting... Anyone recommend any simple ones.. As I said I'm new to this.
Most popular one seems to be this one for GSM.

Lovely job... Cracking bloke.. Thanks for your time mate.
Just had a look... Could be way above my level at the moment... Didn't mind flashing blackice as it was quite simple... This looks quite deep or am I reading it wrong?

[Q] New to Galaxy S III

Hello All,
I just purchased the T-Mobile edition on the Galaxy S III and I ignorantly updated from ICS 4.0.4 to JB 4.1.1.
I want to root my phone. Am I screwed? Please help me I don't want to screw up my phone.
Thanks for any help.
Why would that be ignorant ?
Yes, you can root JB. Even if you couldn't, you could always flash back to ICS if it was that important to you.
Check out the other forums here and ctrl+f "root" - there are guides that will completely walk you through it. I used the root66 root-injected stock ROM to root my phone, it was the first time I'd ever done such a thing and the guide is well-written and goes baby-step by baby-step.

Any recommendations on the best ROM?
Have people become so lazy that they can't search?
Don't be a jerk. I have tried a few I was just asking what he thought was best that's all.
Comon bro, you made time to criticize but not to help.

Evil1art has a couple of very solid roms. V7 is ics and my favorite but his jellybean build is very good also.

Stock rooted Jellybean...a little help finding it, please

Hey guys. I'm wanting to flash back to stock for a bit, but I'm having trouble finding the file I'm looking for. I thought I had it saved, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Anyway, can someone direct me to where I can get the file for STOCK ROOTED JELLYBEAN for AT&T? I've looked all through the stickies, but I can't seem to find that thread that was posted around the time AT&T released the update to Jellybean (there was a pre-rooted stock jellybean file that you could just flash in recovery).
Can someone help me out? Thanks! :good:
you looked at the stickies, but did you search? anyway, here. should have what you need.

Have you looked at this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2540998
It has a couple different Roms with the newest 4.3 ota firmware WITHOUT flashing the bootloaders. I personally had used LoserSkaters version and enewmans version with no real issues at all (other than I cannot flash my vr theme, but that might be something on my end). As far as being stable and everything working I have no problems.

First of, don't hijack threads, if you have a question start a new one.
And second, this is the reason I don't use cynanogen mod. There's a lot of random bugs.
And third, you might want to update to the latest version of cynanogen mod. Cm7 is pretty old.

Noob trying to flash Kitkat on T-mo S2

Hey guys. Coming from Win-mo where everything is just straight forward so this stuff is pretty new. I am trying to find a Kitkat rom for my T-mo S2. I can't seem to find any threads specifically talking about branded phones.
Can anyone help me out here? Info
The phone isn't rooted and on stock jellybean 4.1.2.
If you can direct me to some step by step threads or even better actually telling me what to do step by step it'd be appreciated. Thank you.
I presume you have a SGH T-989 ? If so, you're in the wrong place, your thread belongs here. I've asked mods to move your thread, sit tight until they do.
Yeah I realized that after I posted, I just couldn't figure out what the differences were. Thank you for the help.

Cyanogenmod 11 runs Kit Kat. You can download it from the official page. As for the actual flashing, you need to have root and the latest Clockworkmod installed, as I have read about some issues if you try to flash it with other custom recoveries or older versions of it.
You don't need to root. Just flash the recovery and flash the rom. The rom itself is rooted. If you want to root your stock rom flash the su zip in recovery
