Hi mate,
I Just did mine, took my time even though it only took 10-15 mins max. Stick with one guide stop going back and forth, there is some excellent guides out there, look in the tutorials. Also I will tell you what guide I followed if I am allowed to do so, as I cant remeber if I followed it from a link on this forum. However it is on a different site not a forum but a different site.

Posting the problem in Dev section WONT bring it Alive.
And you wont get helpful answers this way. (Just like my answer)
Just Try search. It really helps.
Please Search in Desire Q&A , see if others have had same problems like you. And im very sure, you'll get it working in no time. FOUR SQUARES ON SCREEN EDGE IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE. (GB RUU might fix it, or see BORTAK's troubleshooting guide which many ppl recommend.)

First off I have already gone through the 70+ pages of the related thread BEFORE thinking of posting, just so everyone knows I am not being lazy. I still am having trouble rooting my HTC One X. I followed all the steps in the one click method. I do not have HTC Sync installed, and so no need to disable. I have updated my drivers with the link provided. I try and end the adb process, but it shows up twice for every time I cancel it lol.
Everything goes fine until the script starts, and it fails to install anything, everything it tries it says fail (I am including a capture so you know what I am talking about. After the phone resets, even though nothing installs, my phone runs script up the right side of the screen, taking up the right half of my phone. Any help is appreciated. Hopefully the pic uploaded, this is my first post...don't hate

You have no clue what so ever what you are doing, please read and learn first. You are not ready for this.
Is your bootloader unlocked ? What did u try to do and where......and please answer the questions clear !!!
Unless you've heard of htcdev.com and unlocking your bootloader with an Unlockcode.bin, I seriously urge you to STOP right here before you potentially damage your HOX

searching "four triangles" in this Q&A thread alone gives plenty of results. google "htc desire four triangles" will find even more. pretty sure most people with this situation have solved their problem, so not sure why nothing works for you.
try Bortak's Troubleshooting guide, stickied to the top of Q&A. it's a step by step guide for virtually everything
if you still can't get it to work after searching and trying things and you need more help, when reporting issues, you need to give a few more details. it makes it much easier for us to focus our advice
- what, if anything, have you tried already?
- what rom were you trying to install?
- did you full wipe before installing?
- was your phone correctly setup according to rom's instructions? (for instance: hboot, sd-ext partition)

One does not simply enter RUU mode by simply trying to install a custom ROM. You were trying to flash a RUU, weren't you?

thank you so much for your reply. Tried Bortak's guide and flashed an RUU, and it worked .
thank you for your help, greetins from Croatia.
Hi all,
I've been out of the whole rooting and flashing roms thing for a while and have finally decided to update Cyanogenmod on my One X, when I try installing the zip through recovery it comes up with an error (Can't remember what it is off the top of my head) and when I have googled it the answers are to update my bootloader.
I have searched about to see if there was a nice guide to tell me how to do this but all I can find is people linking to this thread, I have downloaded the files there had a quick read through but I have no idea what I am doing?
Could anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial or tell me how to update it? Needs to be 1.29 or higher apparently.

Hey guys,
I dropped my HTC One M8 today, and now it has a crack in the screen.
Well, I wanted to go back to the store to get it replaced under warranty, but I needed to unroot & go back to stock first.
So at home I tried to go back to stock and stuff, but it just didn't work. That is where **** hit the fan.
Right now, I can't boot into Android, can't boot intro recovery. Everytime I start my phone it boots into FASTBOOT USB, and I have the following screen: *see attachment*
I really don't know what to do, I've been searching for serveral hours and my guess is I hard-bricked it...
Please, please tell me there is a way to make it boot into android again...?

Do you still have TWRP installed? Boot into recovery from your bootloader, and restore a backup. (You should have made one before you tried returning to stock)

I downloaded several RUU's and they all say : 'MODEL-ID error, please download the correct RUU for your device'
I am going to try to change the CID to SuperCid but don't think it will work since I can't change my S-ON to S-OFF

Yea being s-on I don't think you can what is your cid and what carrier do you have maybe someone can modify one of the ruus to work with your cid cause it seems the ruu is checking your cid and it doesn't match for the ruu so it isn't working. Have you tried reflashing twrp and seeing if you can enter recovery again then maybe restore one of the backups from the backups thread. I don't know how much help I can actually be cause I'm just a flasher hopefully someone with more experience and knowledge can jump in and help you I'm just suggesting what I would do in your situation. I hope you get your phone booted again though
Omg i did it
I just started the whole process again of unlocking my bootloader and stuff, using the AOI Toolkit, and I am in the PhiliZ Touch CLockworkmod now ! Thank you all for helping me, I will carefully unroot now and bring my phone back

First of all, he can't boot into system.
Second of all, everything you've mentioned needs S-Off. He is S-On.
Third of all, HTC US is different than other regions. Most of the other RUUs that have been made available are not found on HTC's websites. Most are leaked versions, I believe.
And no. It isn't in any RUU threads on XDA.

Anyway, the suggestions you gave wouldn't have worked.

It's cool I'm already over it. I know there are alot more people on here smarter then me about this phone stuff. All I really know how to do is read search and flash. This is the first phone I've unlocked and rooted and stuff like that so all this is new to me anyway. So no problem man.
