I'm wondering if there are any themes out there that are like Purple Passion on the HTC Hub? My favorite color is purple and am having problems finding them. I know there is one that is purple (Purple MikRunny -Odex- v1.01), but not my cup of tea.
I've seen a few themes that are purple but are for Sense 3.0
I do really love the Purple passion theme. Anyway someone can make it compatible with Sense 2.1?
Thanks!
Mel
Droid Incredible 2 Sense 2.1 Android Version 2.3.4
There is an awesome one for HD2 however the S3 scene is definitely lacking Fallout theme being the most popular smartphone these days.
Anybody having a WIP or have I missed a project released already ?
Thanks in advance.
To help people make the decision between AOSP based ROMs like AOKP and Touchwiz based ROMs like Jedi, I thought it would be helpful to have a reference. Each list only includes features that aren't in the other types of ROMs. Please comment to help me add things I missed or fix things I got wrong. I've been researching a lot, but my Note 2 is shipping right now and I haven't had an opportunity to try ROMs out. Consequently, I may need to be corrected on some things. I'll update this post regularly.
AOSP:
4.2 Jelly Bean
- new clock
- different users
- lockscreen wigits
- users
- bug fixes
nabvar option (AOKP & CM)
Expand Desktop (AOKP & CM)
Physical Button alternate functions (AOKP & CM)
theme chooser
Touchwiz:
MultiView
S-Pen Features
SmartStay
Aokp is great rom but will eliminate features of samsung.
I have expanded desktop through my launcher on touch wiz. I believe this day and age, one should know the differences between touchwiz and aosp, especially if your rooting.

I've been a big fan of AOSP ROMs for a long time. However, I'm sold on TW ROMs now - Samsung has done remarkable job polishing and tweaking their TW and I really enjoy it. #snote #paperartist #camera to name my best reasons for TW. Plus Quadrant scores are always much higher - not a big deal, but still...
While I love AOSP and how clean it looks, loosing so many S-pen features isn't worth it.
I use Nova to bring back as much of the AOSP experience as I can.
As for the 5-row keyboard, I'm pretty sure you can get that with Perfect Keyboard or even Swiftkey so it's really not a feature of the TW rom.
You failed to mention a few things for AOSP
The ability to use theme chooser with 100s of themes and not have to flash them
all the new features and bug fixes in 4.2.2
Not having to flash many mods that are only available by flashing in TW

Your comment saying S Pen features are not available in AOSP ROMs is misleading. The SPen Samsung Apps are not available. Dozens of apps that work with the Pen are in the play store and many of the ROMs have Spen gestures built in.

I think you also may note that the comparison is AOSP vs TW. (The thread title) AOSP is ANDROID OPEN SOURCE PROJECT. AOKP and CM are both AOSP there are ROMs that make up the best of both of those .

Nothing on AOSP can convince me to switch really. Personal experience on touchwiz has been better for me. Better battery and signal, feels smoother.
But AOSP is by no means bad.

Depending on what it offers, this might convince me too. The big thing is what kind of default stylus support it can get.
Judging from popularity Jedi roms rule. By far - even among other TW roms. That leaves best AOSP rom, CM, in a distant 10% of the share. My 2c...

You could probably just flash them both and see which one you like more. For me, the only thing I miss in cm from touch wiz is the stock music player. It outshines most on the market in my opinion.
Other than that, touch wiz is whatever for me. If you can't live without the music player (I can live without it) and the s pen gestures, and don't mind an occasional big here and there, then try cm.
But all in all I'll just say this, useless thread imo. You wanna know what ROM is "the best" well find out for yourself because that is the only way to do so.

There won't be any "default" support. Just what devs add. I still don't get the stylus excitement. I prefer typing notes with my swipe keyboard and ever note.

One feature that pretty much guarantees I will not touch AOKP anytime soon is WiFi calling.

That has nothing to do with ASOP or Touchwiz. It is a TMO feature.

It's a T-Mobile feature, but it depends on TouchWiz framework. So, yea, you can say it's TouchWiz only.

I dont think he said "samsung"
He is posting in the tmobile note 2 forum, so im guessing he means:
In order for our "tmobile note 2" to have wifi calling, touchwiz framework is required.
Which is absolutely right! International base, and other non-tmobile base roms DO NOT support wifi calling

The international base note2 is Touch Wiz
I know what he is saying. TW is a Samsung product. If other TMO phones have WiFi calling that are not TW/Samsung then WiFi calling on TMO is due to TMO code not TW code. Does not matter much really but I do not think WiFi calling has anything to do with TW firmware if it did the International version could be modded to work and it cannot.

Hello.
I've been searching for a while now and I'm having difficulties finding a free, pure black/dark substratum theme so the AMOLED screen can benefit from it.
Can anyone suggest some free, pitch black subtratum themes?
Thanks in advance.
I would invest a little money and get Swift Black substratum theme.
I know its not free, but its one of the few themes that work on a wide range on OOS, so definatly worth the money.
Six , modern UI , DNA project are some dark free themes.
