Good News
Yes, it appears to be good news indeed. I am happy with my Lumia 900 the way it is but these new features are very welcome and will probably cause me not to upgrade to a Lumia 920 anytime soon. My wife is overdue for an upgrade by 4 years or more and I am urging her to upgrade to a Lumia 920. Maybe I'll take hers and she can have my Lumia 900:laugh: Probably not though, she deserves a brand new phone. I keep checking the Nokia Care Suite Servers through Nokia Care Suite and NaviFirm+ to see new software hit the servers, but nothing yet.
The update should arrive on Wednesday. I hope that's true. :fingers-crossed:

Yea, the rumor mill has been a buzz since early Sunday about the update being released this Wednesday (November 28th). I seriously hope it's true. I plan on upgrading to the 920 soon, but I still want the update to 7.8!
If this turns out to be a rumor... someone should punch the person that started the rumor.

ok so last year someone had posted a working version of the verizon nfl mobile app and it was glorious. then halfway through the season verizon caught on and disabled it or something. Does anybody know if there is a working version out there? I really loved that app
happy saturday
I really like the official App:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.gotv.nflgamecenter.in.lite
but I don't know the App you are looking for, what is it that makes it special?

It was the Verizon V-cast full video streaming app, and it was glorious.. I don't know if there is a working copy or not, but I would love it as well!
Verizon's really beefed up the security checks since last year, but it's being worked on. Hopefully just a week or 2.

P.S. I am not the dev, I'm just waiting for him to finish like everyone else. No word yet, just that he finds a new security check almost everyday. I guess Verizon got serious about security this year... If you've pm'd me, I'll send you the link when I get it. Too bad the NFL can't take a hint and release it for all carriers like the NBA, NHL, or MLB. I would have gladly paid for this app if it was available...
Update: Looking at a beta release around 2 Oct.
Still no word other than progress is going slow...

I would definitely pay for an NFL app like the one from last year. NFL Red Zones opened my eyes and it feels dull watching football without it.

Hello again Everyone...
You might remember me from when I got a pre-release Galaxy S II and made some (admittedly terrible (sorry)) videos about it and answered as many questions as I could for you.
Well... now I have a Galaxy Nexus (which will definitely be launched on Thursday).
I'm suffering from jetlag and will probably be asleep soon - but I will do my best to answer any and all of your questions (forgive me if this turns out to be tomorrow morning).
Ask away and I'll get back to everyone if there's any interest!
Cheers,

Do you have the final version?
Please test and tell us about the battery life.
Thanks
I've seen a few comments on these but I would like to know what your opinion the screen brightness/visibility in sunlight, battery life (a more documented response would be great instead of all the vague "heavy use" battery reviews) and camera quality. I'm not hugely dependent on camera but my Droid Incredible really bothers me because the camera is very finicky in quality and performance. I know the GN is supposed to be almost instant picture capture but how does it handle moving objects (for example 90% of my pictures are fast moving pets/animals)?
I'll probably think of more questions later but I am trying to decide what to upgrade too since my D.Inc is probably not going to live much longer (R.I.P to my first Android phone).

Sprint told me they would wave the activation fee, put a note in my account and all I would have to do is call them after purchasing the SIII. Called the, they said no note existed, they said they wouldn't. Meh. the phone costs 235, no 200 guys.
The Sprint reps saying the update is coming I'd bet are thinking of the Nexus S update, which n ow DOES appear to be coming this week:
http://www.androidcentral.com/sprin...ly-bean-week?utm_source=ac&utm_medium=twitter
...which is even MORE annoying because both my kids have Nexus S 4G's and how DARE they get JB before their parents do?!?
it doesn't make much sense why they wouldn't update the better selling S3 first and help promote it, rather than updating a less desirable phone first.. but hey, nothing new, sprint always does everything backwards..

Not true in this case. Google does not support Sprint's version of the Nexus since the drivers are proprietary. Sprint will have Google's build to work from, but its up to the carrier and manufacturer to do the update in this case...

More like January or Feb, I'd say or maybe never...at least for the Sprint variant. It isn't in Sprint's interest to push updates unless the other carriers do. Of course Samsung wants to get these updates moving because they want the public to feel they'll be supported if they purchase a Samsung branded device but brand loyalty isn't in Sprints interests unless the brand is Sprint and that of course is usually maintained at the end of a very thin thread as it is.
As for the possibility of receiving the 4.3 update. I'm always excited about OTA updates because updates play a fairly big role in future versions of Android. The more updates there are the more well understood it is what the public wants/needs from future versions because of the broader spectrum of users providing feedback.
For my own personal device...I don't care. I run what I want on my device anyway regardless of whatever Samsung/Sprint/Google push. I don't give a rats ass about having a "pure" Android experience or being the first to get the latest version (no offense to the Nexus fans) either. I want my device dirty and nasty with a big moustache. I don't want be like one of those creeps that hangs around the strip clubs but never pays for a lap dance...I'm in the champaign room and let me tell you there is more going on in there than the song says. Why do you think I'm hanging around here? Trick it, brick it, fix it, trick it and brick it again...that's what it all about.

Yea don't really care because Google separated their core services from the operating system so most of the really great feature are now pushed through Google rather than being a part of a new os version.

Pretty sure that you're missing the point.
The updates that we all are anxious for are system updates that ROM devs can work with, make better ROMs for us all. Definitely worth "complaining" about.
That other thread is about a fault where the phone thinks it needs a software update, but not really, or the update in question is actually not desirable for whatever reason.
Welcome to XDA.

I've been thinking long n hard about that, as an option. I do love my Note2, with the exception of the plastic, it's a badass device. But I don't actually use the pen as much as I thought I would. So taking a long look at the HTC Mega (?), and hoping that it makes it to the US... I allow myself a new phone every year, it being a hobby I indulge myself in, and I always buy outright, no ETF charges...
