anyone have a working Touch Clockwork Mod Recovery for the sprint Note II ? or even the regular CWM ? I don't see it listed on the official site and my tool kit appears to have the N7100 CWM (international Note II)
I was running it. But I think the backup/restore was not working properly. Titanium couldn't find any apps in my nandroids to restore, and restoring the nandroids didn't seem to work.
My Twrp nandroids work just fine.

I know that CWM 6.0.1.5 uses blobs folder to store the data, but for some reason it doesn't restore any of the data. it gives me an error saying it can't find data.img when trying to restore. any help would be appreciated!
I haven't tried 6.0.1.5, but on 6.0.1.4 I had similar problems when I had dedup format backups from multiple custom ROMs.
After a point backups refused to be restored in peace. So I changed backup format in the CWM Backup/Restore menu and started keeping tar format backups every now and then to make sure there was some reliable emergency backup.
Sorry that this will not help with your current backup restoration though!
Is this only meant for Nexus 4 ? Or can we flash it for Galaxy Nexus as well ? Reason I ask is because on CWM's official site, it only shows "6.0.1.5" for Galaxy Nexus. I'd like some confirmation before i make the plunge to the latest version.
Thanks.
6.0.1.9 is unofficial and is in the Dev forum, 6.0.1.5 is the current version for the Galaxy Nexus
Here's my situation.
I'm flashing and using a CM11 Variant for AT&T
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2529128
I can install the ROM just fine, calls/data works great. The problem I run into happens when I restore a CWM backup of CM11. The restore gives me the same CM11 environment, only now my baseband and IMEI are unknown. Which in turns means no calls and no data, just WiFi connectivity. Restoring a TouchWiz ROM like Jedi X-20 or SkyNote will bring my baseband and IMEI back, and after that I can wipe /data /system /cache and instal from scratch a working CM11, but restores just don't work.
I've tried flashing every modem available for the T-Mobile Galaxy Note II over the restored CM11 install, but that doesn't fix the issue.
Most searches I did about restoring baseband/IMEI say to flash back to stock/root-injected-stock via Odin or Keis. This seems like overkill as I already have a working restorable backup of SkyNote and Jedi where the baseband and IMEI are recognized correctly.
In doing further research about backing up baseband/IMEI without doing a full Odin restore,I came across a program called NV writer:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804117
However I'm not sure if the program and dialing code is specific to AT&T and.or the Galaxy S III, or if the program and procedure there would work on my galaxy Note II.
Also not sure if this is related to backing up efs or not? Would this be something as simple as just copying the /efs from SkyNote to my SD card, then restoring CM11 and copying the /efs from my SD card back to / on my device.
Has anyone else run into this? Any suggestions for me? Any help is appreciated.
I just recently was able to root and install clockwork mod recovery on my samsung galaxy sIII for sprint (SPH-L710) Android version is 4.4.2 kernel version 3.4.0-1368792 april 19 2014
I am by no means an expert at this and it was a breeze at least for me.
I downloaded towelroot using chrome on my phone and installed ( had to allow 3rd party apps and hit ok to some warnings )
then i downloaded rom manager and installed clockwork mod. This part was a breeze for me did it all right from inside the rom manager app.
I then went and downloaded and installed clockwork mod touch but that part is not needed.
I mostly wanted to report on a sucsesful and very easy way to root and install a recovery mod.
I have not yet attempted to install any other firmware on the phone. I ran a backup from clockwork mod and it seems to have worked fine.
One question i do have though is this. Since i did a backup in clockwork mod with the stock firmware does that mean i now have a reliable firmware i could restore to if i screw things up?
Great job on doing the proper reading to get what you needed done! Yeah with that nandroid, if you screw something up that will get you back to where you were when you made that backup. One good thing to do is to copy that backup to a computer in case you mistakenly format your external SD card.
Hey guys I now know one can backup their stock towel rooted room with Online Backup Pro and restore that backup with Nandroid manager. I'm on a stock towel rooted galaxy tab pro rom. Therefore, what I would like to know is have any of you used this method and successfully restored the Nandroid Backup made with O.N.B while keeping Knox intact just curious ?
B.t.w one guy said he would do that at the end of his post, but never posted the end result, see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2786680&nocache=1
Disregard
asking for a friend who can't make the post currently on xda but he's looking to flash a rom over to his Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (T Mobile) which is already rooted. The question is would he be able to flash the rom over and then things such as Gapps ect and then restore from a Samsung kies backup? (kies essentially is a perfect backup for Samsung phones for those who aren't custom to it)
Or what method would work to not lose stuff after a rom flash? (texts/app settings ect)
Kies cannot be used with a custom ROM.
Use Titanium Backup to backup as many apps and data as possible.
Before flashing a new ROM, make sure to take a nandroid backup before flashing.
