funny story, no idea on how to do an MD5. *hides in corner*
Its been up for awhile now, its probably good to go.
Thanks. I've been borrowing a Tab from a friend, and wanted to give it back with GB. I'd use your ROM instead, but he is getting it back tomorrow, so he'll take this one
To install, just follow the Heimdall instructions for your version? Want to make sure before i brick it

Yeah follow directions.
Its always good to do a full wipe in recovery prior to expecting it to actually work.....better safe than sorry.....

for any file you in linux you can get a md5 by:
Code:
md5sum filename.zip
also just so ya know when making an odin compatible tar you would do it this way:
Code:
md5sum -t filename.tar >> filename.tar
mv filename.tar filename.tar.md5
Thanks for this

Thanks, I just want to restore my tab. Camera doesn't work thanks to the Verizon Tab bootstrapper. Personally I rather have my tab restored to original condition.
So why not just register and download and flash? I just tried the link and it's working fine.
I did, and downloading... Thanks a million...
I have registered and Im getting the same error.
I had to close the browser, and then open it. Did you get the email? It will let you logon first, but not go there till you click on the link in the email to verify your address..
Verizon Bootstrapper doesn't work with this as of yet. :-(
I hope I can get a recovery on it....

I've been pretty silent in regards to people asking if boush's voodoo kernel will work, or if the bootstrapped will work, until now.
I'm not trying to come off as a **** right now, but come on.
This is gingerbread, the bootstrapper is for froyo, kernels are different.
I have a kernel+recovery, if you need 3g, stick with stock kernel for now, if you use the tab for wifi only, then my kernel + recovery is perfect for you.
If I may, I suggest people read threads, read instructions, follow instructions, and fully understand what they are doing before they flash a device, as it always comes back onto the devs as our fault. If people do not read the title, read every word of a post, then it is not our fault if the end user is impatient and flashes the wrong thing.
I am 1 person working on 4 builds for the sprint and Verizon tablet, 2 builds per tab, plus working on the kernel and recovery. If you can not read all my updates in the active Verizon better than life gingerbread thread, then you end up wasting your time, and mine as I have to reply to the pm, email, or thread asking for help bailing out of a brick, and in that I lose dev time.
Boush doesn't come to xda anymore, his threads should be closed and considered abandonedware, it only creates confusion when it comes to the new people.
Sorry if I came off harsh, but its true. Dan and I are currently the only cdma devs now, time for people to fully read our detailed instructions.

Hi there,
I'm working at creating a solution for EFS/MODEM firmware repair on the Galaxy Note II models and I'm in need of a SGH-T889V modem firmware dumps. I need a rooted user to simply perform the following commands from a terminal on the phone, or while using ADB SHELL under the su user. Once at the command line issue this command, then simply upload the files which end up on your sdcard to me here. That's it!
Thanks in advance!
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4 of=/sdcard/m9kefs1 bs=4096
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5 of=/sdcard/m9kefs2 bs=4096
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p6 of=/sdcard/m9kefs3 bs=4096
PLEASE NOTE, THESE MUST BE FROM A T889V. A T889 CARRIES COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FIRMWARE. IF YOU HAVE A T889 AND WOULD LIKE TO DONATE THAT WOULD BE GREAT AS WELL AND A GOOD CAUSE TOWARDS THE T889 SOLUTION FOR YOUR DEVICE. NO EFS/IMEI NUMBERS OR SERIAL INFORMATION IS STORED IN THESE DUMPS EITHER SO THERE ARE NO CLONING OPERATIONS TAKING PLACE.
Hope u can do that bcse I already mess up mine! I dont have iMEI but still having efs folder. If u can do make a solution I would appreciated. Good luck!

My concept has already been proven for the SGH-T889 model and the SGH-I317 model. I just don't have a working SGH-T889V model to make my modem firmware dumps from. Once I get that, the solution will be live for all of those SGH-T889V users who are bootlooping bricked from damaged modem firmware.
Really? Where can I find the solution for mne? T889

Hi there,
The files did provide me with a 99% solution to the issue. I have the device booting properly now, I have restored the IMEI/DATA values and it has no issues other than the fact it requires a T889 modem to properly work. It works fine with the T889 modem on T889V firmware but when the T889V modem is flashed it boots to the OS and reboots after a few force closes. I know the T889 modem is a bit larger than the T889V modem so I even went as far as blowing away the modem partition and recreating it (simple FAT 16 structure) but the unusual issue persists. The customer however is on board with it and is provides a working device versus one that does not. Your help has been awesome and the Wind Note II community should all CLICK YOUR THANKS BUTTON for this...

Hey there, I downloaded the modem and I am trying to use it with odin, but odin doesn't seem to recognize the file. be it from bootloader or pda etc. Am I supposed to use odin with this modem? Help please
I have VLALJ4 modem from a T889V I am using (wind) if you have a different version, maybe this one will help?
Does anyone need it?
Where can I find a list of "wind" modems for the note 2 if I want to play with some and test my signal?
thanks.
Ignore my previous post, I have figured out how.
But on the other hand, I still get no service and the phone keeps telling me it's still searching for signal.
My build is the uvalj1 version, should i download a different version?
Would flashing a different rom fix my no signal problem by any change? Heard they have different radio files or something close to that?

Remember guys, the T889V modem, the whole ROM for that matter, is identical across Wind, Mobilicity and Videotron.
The only difference lies in the CSC files. And *maybe* a few NV item settings.

Hi I have an issue on my verizon note 2 where it is stuck in roaming and Adam Outler seems to say that if I restore the m9kefs1, 2, and 3 partitions it should fix it but he didnt reply to me on how to pull them. Anyways my question is are you positive these are the m9kefs partitions and that I can pull someone else's and dd them to my device? Thanks for taking the time to read this.
I'll get to the point, I wanted to root my Note 2 since i was very excited to have it. But after root i noticed i couldnt access phone memory it said i had -10????????????? bytes something along those lines. And i couldnt even access my sd card even when plugged to computer. So i decided to flash a stock rom, this is where the problem is, I'm new to odin and samsung so i have no idea what i was doing and i messed up my phone.I can only get into download mode everything else says to try kies recovery again.
I've checked many threads and tried following the steps they give but odin just gives me fail fail fail. It's a headache.
Anyone willing to help in this matter? I have the Galaxy Note II GT-N7100.
Apologies for making this long and not sure if this is the correct place to post this thread, just need help. Thank you.

Hi Dr Ketan, I know nothing about my note 2 but what I do know is that I have an N7105T (LTE) variant because I live in Australia.
Basically what I would like to do is to take off the official Australian rom that is on my note 2 and put on the official Philippines rom instead.
I want to do this because I cannot control the shutter sound on this rom, and Samsung has removed the radio app which I used all the time, also the contact pictures do not exist in the official messaging app (not ghosts they're not there at all). I would like all of these functions on my phone and my friend who bought one from the Philippines online has all of these functions.
I have downloaded odin 3.7 and I have the samsung drivers installed.
could you or anyone please tell me where I have to go to download the correct Philippines N7105 rom from and then give me a step by step on how to back and and flash the new rom?
Thanks so much, please asume I know nothing and include all steps no matter how minor!
Read first post of link i said, there is link for n7105 same kind of thread.
You may get rom there or find on sammobile.com

BIG Noob Questions
Hi, I am unfamiliar with Samsung Phones. I currently have a LG phone without all this stuff about variants. I have a Rogers phone but I am unlocking it to run on Telus. That said can I run a Telus rooted firmware? Or does it not really matter what firmware is on the phone. Is it worth while to update the radio?
Sorry for all the questions. Thanks for any answers that you can give.

DMF1977, I tried your way. I downloaded Odin and root66_ATT_I747UCDLK3.tar. As soon as I loaded the root66 file, I didn't even get a chance to hit start, both times Odin froze. Then I saw "Check MD5....Do not unplug the cable...Please wait". I had no choice but to shut my phone down because Odin froze and wasn't doing anything. I tried it twice. Then after I unplugged and shut my phone down I saw this in the box " root66_ATT_I747UCDLK3.tar.md5 is valid. Checking MD5 finished successfully. Leave CS..."
I remember last year having a problem with Odin conflicting with something on my laptop when I rooted my Captivate. I ended up having to root it a different way.

SGH-I747 (4.1.2 i747's please)/ SGH-i747m( If you have a official 4.3 i747m, please post a debrick.img) only:
Hi, I recently hard bricked my phone into QHSUSB DLOAD and I am going to attempt repairing it through the SD Card boot method.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=47431259
I need a debrick.img to flash to the SD card in a Linux OS.
I would have gotten it myself but my phone is obviously dead. I found one before on XDA, but it did not work on my device and it gave me an error in the Linux terminal when it should not have.
-snip-
The end of the 3rd boot-loader stage in mmcblk0 is at 77.3 megabytes. If you are going to help out using your device, try to refrain from uploading an image with a different ROM other than root.
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/backup.img bs=2m count=81054925
The count is the amount of bytes. I am not sure if it is meant to be 1000 bytes=kilobyte or 1024 bytes=kilobyte. The count above is for 1024.
I need someone to install the Galaxy S III unified toolkit, and pull the first 7 partitions from mmcblk0 ,which is where the third bootloader stage ends.(Don't upload a heavily modified device please) http://www.skipsoft.net/?page_id=213 Once you get the files, PM me.
If anyone has a link to a working one, please post that. If you want to get your own image to help me, go ahead.
Thanks guys.

I tried to unlock what I thought was a locked bootloader(I could only enter bootloader through ADB)
I found an article that says ezunlock works on all S III's.
It corrupted my bootloader, and my phone gives off no signs of life except "Device QHSUSB-DLOAD not recognized" when plugged in.
This means the motherboard/processor wasn't able to boot from the hard disk, so then it tries the SDcard if it matches the phone close enough.
I need someone to use their rooted i747 to dump the first 77.3 megabytes of "mmcblk0". That contains the firmware and bootloaders. With that, i can burn it to an sdcard in a linux operating system and plug it into my phone.

It will be a bit easier using the toolkit to extract the partition files. If you could pull the first 7 partitions from "mmcblk0" of your device through the toolkit, it will probably set the next step to fix my phone. (Assuming you have a 16g i747... I don't really know)
You don't have to do this of course.
Thanks man.
Bump. Can anyone help out? All I need is the first 7 partitions.

either try using this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27239761 am pretty sure it works for all S3 models, either way on the I747 forum it has been removed, the download link does not work........ so use this
it will work, it may not work but for the time being use this toolkit and also search forums or Google on how to fix this without, i think i found some answers after i had an emmc brick with my S2 but i did not have an SD card to re-write firmware to work again on my phone so i bought the S3 and its awesome

Did you use an i747 or a i747m device?
If a i747m image works on an i747, it will basically fix all of my problems.

What message appears on your computer when you plug it in?
If it says QHSUSB-DLOAD, you are in faint light.
It stands for Qualcomm High Speed USD Download Mode.
What is means that your processor(qualcomm), is trying to boot, but it cannot find proper drivers for the hardware.
It will then look for something to boot from in the SDcard.
Here is a thread on how some other people were able to do it : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439367
I have an I747M technically. I went for an actual I747M image just in case there was a slight difference. in the thread that one came from though there should be one for the actual att device if you look through it.
and just to confirm, yes the phone was blank and unresponsive. showing up as QHSUSB-DLOAD before i loaded that img onto my external SDcard. and I am using the same phone currently.

Unfortunately that's the download I found that didn't work.
Thanks for trying though
damn! the only other help I can offer then, is that there is a pretty good thread on this over in the d2tmo section. someone there wrote a little tool to easily download the relevant data. might help you on your quest. or at least make it so you could ask someone that doesnt know ADB. best of luck!

OK , take out your battery and tell me your model number(Behind battery). And what phone company do you use?
Did you possibly save a NANDROID on a computer?
( if you have i747m, you can fix your phone, but its hard to do( I havnt done it yet)
Download this image http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46258374&postcount=172 (thanks to @Bradkirk )
Follow these directions using that image above^^^ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439367
You need to install a Linux operating system (Ubuntu works) to run the commands.
Edit:! According to the T-Mobile thread, you might need a debrick.IMG from a phone on 4.3
Once I know your phones model number, I can edit the main post and ask for you phone model's images.
