you should have the stock apk, make sure its compatible with ur rom and move it via root explorer to system/apps folder and set its permissions to rw-r-r
i want to install memo, maps and voice search.. yeah i tried it via root explrer and installed it but dont work
I know this is part of superuser, but I don't use that anymore, I use SuperSU. I removed the Superuser app after I installed SuperSU, and everything still works, still rooted, SuperSU handles root access, but this program still remains. And I am getting force closes from it.
How do I remove it?
Did you try to use root explorer and just delete it?

I did a search of my SD card and the phone itself, I can't find the actual file.
I have the same problem, where is the file?
Install link2sd or titaniumbackup and remove it.

It should be in /system/app/
I am running AOKP JB B1, just like suddenly, some of my Apps like DX tool box and DX power booster can't gain root access anymore, but other apps like root explorer work fine, I tried to update supersu and binary, no good.
Then I thought maybe I screw up the system because lots kernel flashed, so I just reflash AOKP JB B1 with full wipe , but still no good...
Could it be application compatibility problem or something wrong at my end?

Just a guess but some apps look for Superuser.apk to confirm root access. If your ROM has SuperSU.apk as SuperSU.apk that could be the issue. When I flash a ROM with SuperSU I always change the name to Superuser.apk.

a. update your busybox, use stericsons busybox updater from the play market. open the app, update busybox.
b. open your superuser or supersu app and make sure that your binaries are updated and that root is enabled. superuser has known issues with jelly bean.
c. if aokp has an optional root or no choice, enable root.

unfortunately , still can't , busybox is updated. SuperSu has updated the binaries as well and i even set to gain permission without asking, still can't
all other apps like ROOT EXPLORER , TRITIUM BACK UP, FRANCO KERNEL UPDATER, PGM2 and something more were able to gain access to root , only these 2 can't
this is the app that can not gain access ...

I lost Google play on my one v and upon checking the system apps i no longer see the odex phonesky.odex file. Can I just download any rom and grab the odex file from that rom to make it work? what permission do i set it?
any other way to fix this?
thanks
btw can anyone upload the odex file i cant seem to find any downloadable one
Are you rooted?
What rom are you running?

Just install the apk as normal app - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1933277
restoring an odex will not help as the play store most probably updated itself to newer version when you use it.

Thanks. I was struggling with all the apk that I downloaded and wont work with the normal package installer. What I did was copy and paste using root explorer, set proper permission then integrate it to rom using titanium backup and rebooted and i worked.
Hello,
I have rooted my phone using the XDA suggested app. I have installed SuperUser but no apps are asking for permission to join the superuser app. Also the apps that I have (a file app like file explorer) that has the option to enable root, fails. I am trying to add the Google play store but it says "force close" everytime I try to launch it. I know that my problem is that I do not have the vending.apk in the correct directory but without the ability to write to my app folder I can't do anything... PLEASE HELP!

I didn't go back to stock but I did re-root and now it works like a dream!!! My free file explore has superuser rights AND I was able to install the Google Play Store! It runs flawlessly. I am super excited if ya couldn't tell. Thanks again!
