Recently having another 2 problems with the opt g kor ver:
1. Maximum characters in a sms are 80, and cannot (or i havent figured it out) switch to multiple sms instead of changing it to mms. I had to break down my text into many parts for it to be able to send.
2. When i tried to use my finger to press the right part of the back, it seems loose and cause a cracking noise, as if like an empty shell with nothing underneath. I dont know what happened or it was like that since the beginning but i didnt notice.

I've noticed with the cooked roms (both LSVW and Black) have an issue with keypad lag and dropping letters.
I text message and e-mail rather fast. When i slide out the keyboard and start typing a text message or e-mail, the letters lag behind what i am typing (which is fine). But when the words catch up i notice some of the letters that i typed in were dropped from some of the words. The only way to prevent letters dropping is to wait 3-5 seconds EVERY TIME before i start typing. I noticed this lag and dropping letters only happens right after the phones switches to landscape.
I dont i ran into this problem with the factory rom. And with the MDA Vario and Cingular 8125, i would experience the lag, but when it caught up no letters were dropped. Are there any fixes for this?
That's been a problem for me since I got my Hermes. I think I'll wait a few months after it's been released next time I buy an HTC product. Too many problems with early versions, if you ask me.
Try reducing the auto complete...
When mine was in the default settings, it was suggesting four words as soon as I typed the second letter of each word - net result a busy processor and lags in typing...
I have now set it to suggest just two words after four letters and emails and texts are now a delight to type! (It does however also affect the auto suggest for email and text addressing so I now have to type four letters of someones name to get suggestions
Well if i turn off or limit autocomplete... that kinda defeats the purpose. I shouldnt have to step down my settings for it to work. I really dont think this is a hardware problem. There has to be some kind of fix for this...
As i said, roms with my mda vario and 8125 dont lag during typing text or emails. I have autocomplete suggestions set on MAX and it works perfectly...
even on the normal rom versions my hermes drops letters...
so no big deal for me

Trust me it will work ... am using
- suggest after entering 3 letters (instead of space)
- suggest 3 words
Works like a charme ...

Hey all, I use text messaging quite a lot, and have noticed that sometimes the spacing between the different conversations/messages in the inbox is sometimes a lot larger...much more finger friendly.
i dont miss too often and go into the wrong msg, but it does happen, and i like the look of it being more spread out. I thought that SPB Pocket Plus caused this a few random times
one way i am pretty sure you can cause this to occur, is to bring up the htc touch keyboard (and possibly others) while in the inbox view. somehow i seem to have gotten mine to stick like that. and i like it.
any ideas anyone on how to make this permanent??
thanks.
When I use email, calendar or anything else that requires text, the spellcheck kicks in and, with my DHD, the alternatives proffered jump around. They jump from below to above the text box and back again several times before coming to rest where they should be below the text. That really slows things down and is driving me up the wall.
I've tried changing settings but nothing seems to cure it. If I was better at typing, I'd turn off spellcheck but my typing is utter rubbish so I really do need it.
I'm wondering if this is another app interfering with the normal operation. If so, what sort of app could do that. I don't have any replacement keyboards, spellcheckers or similar installed.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Hi all,
I absolutely love my Gnex. I got it on launch day, and for the most part I have not had a ton of issues. However, there is one thing that I am having a hard time dealing with, and I'm hoping someone will be able to help me with it. When I dial a number with the stock dialer I have no issues at all. After I connect and when I need to bring up the number pad to enter extensions, voicemail, or whatever else, my number pad "short circuits." I only can describe it like a flickering everytime my fingers come close to push a number. It disappears when I go to push them and reappears when I take my finger away. I almost have to time it right when trying to access my voicemail just to push the numbers I need. I have tried holding the phone in different locations because I am aware that there is a proximity sensor....but it seems to me that what is happening really shouldn't be. Is there a setting I can change? Any assistance that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.....I really would like to clear this issue up as its the only thing from making my GNex close to perfect.
Thanks!
Is there a screen protector blocking the sensor? Some of the cheap ones block then sensor and screw with it.
Nope. No screen protector as of yet. I purchased the XO Skin but have yet to put it on.
I have hung up a few calls as well.
I think the proximity sensor works but it seems to be slower than the average phone. Hopefully this is something that could be fixed with a software patch.
Punchup- Is it anything like this?

OP- Mine did that once but i couldnt reproduce it on the next reboot.
Naddie that is exactly what is happening!
It is good to know so I can avoid doing it but I do hope they fix it in a patch. Thanks!
I got in to work tonight, and a coworker told me about his evo. The bottom of his pattern lock was not responding, and left him locked out of his phone. Now, knowing his email and password, he attempted to log in. Here is the catch: the bottom row of letters in profile mode dont work(zxcvbnm). I had this issue on my personal evo, and recalibrating the screen fixed it.
So, now I am sitting here with his phone, I reset his gmail password to use the responsive rows, however, I failed to realize that you need to reenter your info for synch, otherwise the new combo will not work in the permalock situation. The funny thing is, when you swap to the numbers, more keys start to work ( _()-+; ), and if you swap to page 2, all of the lower smilies work. Upon switching BACK to letters, the same issue is still there. Hitting any of the zxcvbnm keys acts as if you are hitting the letters ABOVE them.
Question is, is there a way to get past this without a hard reset? Trying to get this done by the end of the night. I realize how this post comes off, so if there is a way to prove this is NOT thievery, let me know. My rooted evo's front cam lens is scratched up, but I could probably do a video using front cam. I would hardly bother snatching an OG evo, what with my upgrade being available and the possibility of LTE phones being released this summer. (And it is updated and unrooted).
Well, I figured it was going to be an issue to ask, but had to try anyway.
Did a hard reset and a calibration. Profile texting is back, somewhat, but pattern locking broken. Little to no input on the bottom row. At least he has his phone back so he can do stuff with it. In landscape, the whole right side (the dead zone) works flawlessly. In profile, the bottom (same side) is sketchy at best. Gonna tell him to put in a claim at Sprint and hope for the best. (It is a 004. My 003 has been flawless in every aspect. No bleed, no issues...other than scratching the crap out of the camera cover).
Gonna put one in for just a bum screen.
