Hi , I purchase a Silicon/ Jelly Case for my Note 10.1 N8000 from Capdase specifically the Capdase Soft Jacket Value Set for N8000
http://www.capdase.com/en/product5.php?cid=4&bid=83&mid=1353&pid=29580
After few weeks of usage, I took it out to clean it, but I notice some few light scratches on the silver bezel due to the silicon case (you will only notice it when you take a look very closely).
Now a noob question, is there any way I can protect the silver bezel from scratch ? or any good case that I can use / buy that protect my note 10.1? or no case at all ?
nontheless, Note 10.1 is a good tablet, feature wise, proc, ram . the only complain I have is the case itself, it seem weak.
Hope some N800 owner can share their experiences about this tab.
Thanks
The jelly case should not scratch the bezel may be some dust particle got stuck between the bezel and the case rubber is a non scratch substance due to its characteristic but if a rubber has scratched the bezel then anything else you put will also do the same
Thanks, samir_a. Yes, I though its something that caused the scratches .. Do you think it would help if I put some ZAGG Invisible Shield (I have extra / unuse invisible shield from other devices) on the silver bezel to protect from further scratches ?
Another question, does the silver bezel fade/ discolor in due time?

I am one of those who likes the phone as is.
Why cover/thicken it up? And gorilla glass sure as heck shouldn't need protection as it only reduces the sensitivity and usefulness - why buy a touch screen if you don't want to touch it in the first place.
BUT
2 days on the TGV's across France and Switzerland and boy was I cursing; the bloody phone slid everywhere ... so it made me think.
Got home and stuck 2 of those clear rubber/plastic kitchen cupboard door dome bumpers (Magnet for those in the UK) on the corners by the camera, and voila you have a non-slide phone and protects the lens at the same time.
Works for me, also helps the grip as your fingers go between the domes.
Each to their own. Hope its helps some.

I also hate casing, but... I hate scratches and dents more.
I've found mine is getting scratched on the 'bump' below the samsung logo. Stupid bit of design that put the most scratchable plastic on the entire phone on the only surface that touches the table.
I like mine au naturel too but it looks like we've no choice but to use a skin or case if you don't like scratches.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
That "bump" actually stops the camera lens from getting scratched when place on a flat surface.. dunno why they didnt recess the lens though... or better still stick a lens cover on it!!
Im a case fan personally, yeah I love the look of the phone, but I want it to stay that way.. so Ill wrap it up! makes for good resale value near end of contract!
I stuck a strip of clear sellotape across the hump, prevents scratches until something better pops up
The sellotape works wonders!
I don't care scratches but the reason why I use case is the camera lens because it can be easily scratched and will take worst photo
.:SiLvErHuNk:.
I have a case an cheap one i bought on eBay and it works fine but ive ordered another one and am going to buy a screen protector - SGP Ultra Oleophobic Film which appears to be the best available, when you've spent €450 on a phone the last thing you want is for it to be scratched

Holy cow. Who said Gorilla Glass won't scratch? Jeez. Of course a good screen protector is recommended and also a good case which will protect the device if it drops accidentally.
Regards.
I have got a visible scratch right between the camera lens and the flash....missed both of them...Phew!!!...
so now I have a case always fitted, SP and also a cut out SP for the lens...
Im currently using a Case-mate POP.
been using it for three weeks now..It provides extra protection for the device, and on the back of the phone the case gives 3-4mm height above the lens so Im not afraid it'll scratch or something will happen to it.
What I dont like with this case is thats bulky and makes the phone thick.
I started looking for better alternatives and saw the SGP Neo Hybrid,
It seems very nice and elegant, keeps the phone original shape more or less, without giving it extra thickness (compared to the CM POP)
In fact, I also found the CM Gellie a nice case,
they both seems to be enough for me, protection for falling from my hands here and there, I dont think that more than that is needed....
What I dont like with these cases is that they only has maybe 1mm height above the lens..Dont they get scratched?
What can I do in order to keep the lens clean from scratches?

The lens doesn't touch the table when you set the phone down. The only way it would get scratched is with something in your pocket and an extra 2-3mm would not stop that. A key would still cause damage.
Im aware that the lens wont get any damage while being on the desk.
But...Its almost there, and in case of absorbing scratches it might be a serious issue.
Is there any lens protector film such as the ones that martin fields supply with their screen protector?
Or any other creative way, which wont affect the photos in the way?
I shared the same concerns that you did, so I took one of my extra screen protectors (the clear kind, not matte) for other products, and cut a protector for the camera lens. If anyone's interested in the dimensions, it's about 7 by 7 mm.
Doesn't it affect the photos quality or color?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Not for me. In case you want specifics, I had 2 extra pieces of clear screen protector from Speck for my iTouch 4 so I just cut one of them. You should use the same care in applying a screen protector to applying a lens protector (clean it, etc). Photo quality isn't affected at all.
So since this phone is so inexpensive, are we going to get screen protectors for it? Or just let it go? I'm probably going to get something simple, like this one, just for some basic protection. Is anyone else planning on getting any sort of protection?
Thanks in advance!
I bougth one and after 2 weeks is scratched and has a crack so you should no spend your money on this
Yeah, the tempered glass screen protector is pretty good.
i usually just let it go, feel better than cover any protectors
Hi:
I depends on how do you use you screen.
I have own a Galaxy S, SIII and now this Moto E 2015 , and never ever used a screen protector. No scratches on screen. Nevertheless I know some people using the phone as a kitchen cutting table and have the same results (as the kitchen table).
Gorilla glass is pretty hard though.
I actually have screen protectors on my devices just so because it feels good to know there's an added protection. You may want to check this one.
The Tempered film is a better choice.
Where i live in Canada i could not find one in store.
I was able to see a couple cases but they were super cheaply made and super expensive (in my Mall)
So i didn't buy a case.. i also didn't want a bulky case because i lucked out and found a sweet belt clip case at Wallmart.
The case from Wallmart fits my dimensions perfectly for the phone and has my phone attached to my belt now
I like using my phone to listen to music while i ride my mountain bike.
So what i ended up doing is getting an iPhone 6 protective film for $2 and i just trimmed the top off and laid it on top my phone.
i have 95% of it covered and it looks ok.. i had done a better job but i tried to make it perfect and screwed it up.
Pro Tip: Don't be a perfectionist when making your own cut and paste protective film LOL
Also..
I could have gotten a protective film from a kiosk in my local Mall that is suppose to be strong etc.
The kiosk custom cuts the protective material for any device from watches to phones, so i *could have done that.
But, they wanted about $35 can. after taxes for my cheap phone so i said no thanks.
I do want to ask any of you out there a question (i am fairly new to android phones only had a S3 for a few months before)
What i want to know is are the Gorilla glass screen good enough that i can just ditch the plastic film stuff ?
Like i have seen some guys say online that they don't bother putting a protective skin on the phone.
So what do you guys think ? Maybe i should ditch the protective plastic stuff on my phone ?

gorilla glass is preatty hard, it can survive some hard things like keys or somethig made of metal but there are things that can easy scrach it - for example sand (because it's harder than glass). I can't recommend plastic screen protectors, they do the job but they are real fingerprints magnets. It's impossible to keep it clean. I think you should buy glass protector, you can find cheap ones on some chineese sites with free shipping (it takes like month but I think it's worth)
Today I got my 3$ tempered screen protector form Chinese auction site. The shipping was free, it should take more than 30 days according to info on the site but I've waited only 12 days. IMO the glass quality is very good but it's my first tempered glass protector. Instalation process was easy (even without instruction on the box but there is a lot of videos on YouTube about instalation) though I have small air bubble around proximity sensor. It's my first glass so maybe I've done something wrong. Anyway I'm very happy, I had plastic foil before and it's like day and night. The fell of the glass under the finger is great. IMO this 3$ glass is a great deal.
I bought my one here http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2-5D..._77_91_80,searchweb201644_5,searchweb201560_9
Edit
Today that bubble dissapered for itself, now it sticks perfectly. For 3$ I'm more than happy.
Just go get one from XtremeGuard and use a coupon to bring the price down to like $2.
tyvm got all the info i need here

I had something like that on my last phone and it got really scratched after 1 week, mostly from this metal things around pocket in jeans pants. It made screen look grainy too but it was pretty comfortable to use in sunlight.

Ahhh I see, well you could get a case that covers the screen, that way it doesn't get grainy or scratched. Regardless of the screen or screen protector, I think it's not recommended to place your phone on the same pocket you have your keys in, or other metal things.

I think about those two metal spots around pocket in most of jeans' pockets. I just want to say that it won't suit for every people, I used something like that and I was really mad about how it made my screen grainy and how soft it was although it performed preatty good in sunlight and fingerprints wasn't so visible. Then I had non matte one, screen looked better but it was real fingerprints magnet. It was harder but still It got scratched after some time. Now I have glass and for me it's the best choice. It's very transparent, very hard and it's not so bad with fingerprints but it's thick so it can colide with some cases (not an issue for me). That's just my opinion about thoose protectors.

Well I bought mine for 2$ on chinese site (aliexpress). It's cheap, preatty easy to install, very scratch resistant and very clear, screen looks bright and it feels great under the finger. The downsides are that it's thick so it won't work well with every case, I use it with orginal grip shell and it's good combo because of the case design: http://forum.android.com.pl/uploads/monthly_12_2015/post-142525-0-25574200-1451048167.jpg The second problem is that the oleophobic coating wears off but after 2-3 months it's still not so bad (but it was better when it was new).

Awsome, I'll try one someday, the plastic one I have feels to smooth on the finger, as in it sometimes feel like if you are not really sliding your finger on the surface
Just can't find a front and rear case that I'm 100% with. They are mainly to Bulky or to flimsy.
Ao at present I'm using front, rear and hinge 'screen protectorso
Think I might be being foolish though. Guarantee I drop it now!
Same here actually. I have the Armid case from Samsung but I usually prefer phone naked so it is the same with Fold 2. I didn't remove yet the inner screen protector but planning to.
I was using the phone without any protective case because like you said, none of them fits 100% to my liking, and guess what happened. I have dropped the phone from 2 feet and cracked the edge of the front screen. I couldn't sleep for 2 days how upset I was, but fortunately my local Samsung care center replaced the screen right away for roughly $150.00, but they installed new front screen that has absolutely no factory screen protection, so I am using the phone naked outside. Yesterday my Ringke case arrived so I put it on immediately, just in case but it's not perfect. But I will have to live with it. I am receiving Samsung Aramid case tomorrow, so I will see which one I will keep on the phone.
I don't know if this idea is good to remove the inner display protector. I don't do this. for what ? perhaps scratches in the inner display ? not for me
has anybody removed the outer display protection ? I think this is not a big problem cause gorilla glass victus is here.

It doesn't matter what sort of glass it is, if you look at the right hand side corners the glass is bulged out so any impact there will 100% shatter it. I had/ have a note 20 ultra with a broken screen, still under repair (for more than a month now) so don't completely trust the victus branding.. glass is glass and glass breaks :crying:

I removed the inner screen protector as I didn't like the feeling of it. It was also very difficult to keep clean of fingerprints and smudges and I was unable to see past that.
Now, the screens looks and feels ALOT better, but I've noticed some small scratches on the screen. They appear to come from my left thumb nail while scrolling. Even though I keep my nails fairly short. The scratches are only visible when the screen is off an from the right angle. I can't feel them, but they can be wiped away.
There aren't enough bad scratches to bother me yet and I don't regret removing the protector... but I thought you should know.
If the scratches get bad, I'll get a screen replacement and maybe consider a protector... but I'll only keep the phone for a year, so it'll probably be naked again even after a replacement ??
I went naked as well for tha same reason I couldn't find a good case...stock screen protector inside and out!
No protectors inside or out, no case, pure naked. It's a joy to run this way but one little drop later I could be weeping like a schoolgirl with a skinned knee. That window ends in about a week as I finally found a case as premium as the phone and I'll be in a wallet soon.
I use only this for carring the phone.
this fits very good !

Fit good for the first test. Arrived today from china ...
I think the naked looks and feels the best!!! Then why using covers, protectors, or else!!!
I use on all sides hydrogel. And works great... I drop it 4 times to all surfaces and still no scratch.
I'm not prone to dropping my phones or having butter fingers, however I don't want to chance it. So far I have purchased a Whitestone dome for the front (have not installed it yet), Samsung's aramid and leather cover (still waiting on my leather cover to arrive). The last phone I rocked without a case was my HD2? That thing is a tank!
No case ..
Only screen protector inside and outside

My simple experience after around 2 months of use. I finally got the courage few days back to remove the inner screen. Knowing I prefer always my phone without a case and a protector.
The inner screen , without a doubt is way clearer and less smudgy without one and it is perfect.
Anyways, I have already bought 2 orotectors, both are somehow the sam price, however, one turned out to be excellent and as good as without protector and one is more smudgy than the original.
My recommendation for ones who doesn't want to keep inner screen without protection is to get the good one, you get the best of both words, clarity and protection.
I have the samsung aramid case since day one but I never used to be honest, only the first few days...
The good protector and the bad one in sequence:

What case is this you're using? Looks good! Interested in buying one myself.
I just removed the inner (original) screen protector and installed matt hydropel screen protector. The original one is really just badly . I like the matt taste now on the inner screen and of course no fingerprints anymore...
I went ahead a few days ago and removed the inner and outer screen protectors. The inner was getting nastier looking with smudges plus I signed up for Samsung Care+ so if anything happens to the screen I only pay like $29 for a replacement.

yes I hear about that but I think that it is only a plastic film unuseful in case the phone falls on the screen and I thought that a tempered glass or a polymer protection would be quite better; no !?
cases are being sold for some time, got 9 and 9Pro transparent case on the way in case I will buy the phone Factory foil is enough for me, on each phone. Still in good shape on 8Pro. I think they're thinnest, most comfy and don't break edge gestures or fingerprint like those expensive foils and glasses. Worthless investment if you ask me, by the time it scratches you can have a new model already..

thx for your answer. The protection given with the phone is it just a film or is solid, I mean in case of falling does it protect from the ground impact and avoid the screen to break or does it only protect from scratches?

Scratches. If you're that worried, you need a huge rigid case or flip case, as glass cover will cover you only to some extent (a bit extra protection, the few extra cases where you'll be breaking the glass cover only). People who claim were saved by glass cover only usually cannot prove the glass would break without it.. and that is why the cover business works well. I prefer comfort, and light weight (i count every gram), and out of my dozens phones in decades, i fatally dropped NONE so i RISK it happily, if my next 1400$ flagship will break one day after buying, i can't care less, because i saved so much money not buying expensive screen protection in the past. But that's my philosophy.. It's not my recommendation. My enemy is scratches from keys and pockets. I just need a foil. Thanks Oneplus and Samsung for providing it for free
Buy a case Buy insurance!
Glass backs break easily, thanks to an insurance company my Oneplus 9 pro will only cost about $100.
My OP 8Pro was totaled because of a cracked back panel.
As the one above me said, spend some bucks and buy insurance. Pair that with a sandstone case and the pre-applied protector, and you will be good for at least a year.
It would be shame to cover that gorgeous screen with some clunky tempered glass protector.
I just bought a Caseology Parallex off Amazon. It is a nice case. I had it on other phones.

I looked at the Caseology Parallex on Amazon and might buy that. But I think I'll wait another week or two and see what else is available. It comes with a clear TPU case, so I'll just use that if I don't have a permanent one yet.
I don't really care for screen protectors because they ruin the impressive touchscreen experience for me. I read there's a factory applied screen protector, so I'll see how that works. I will probably get a protective film (or glass?) for the camera because my current one got a little scuffed up in the 2 years I've had it. Does anyone else use a protector for the camera?

The ones I was looking at on Amazon have cutouts for the camera, just like the cutouts for camera or speaker on a regular screen protector. So there's no glass over the camera itself, but the raised area around the camera is protected.
