There's an interesting fundraiser going on here:

Perhaps this is a solution for some, or an acceptable way to upgrade to the Nexus4 (when you can get a hold of one!) for others.
I'm not affiliated with the project at all, just thought maybe it would be of interest to some.
It's basically a USB-OTG and a card reader in one. You can get both for less than 10 bucks right now

Well, some of us don't have the talent to things lol... I have s thing with patience when working with detail... You can make one then? I'll proudly buy one if that's the case
I don't think the guy is well versed in manufacturing. I work in the industry and here are some points which I question:
-FCC & CE Federal Certification 10 Days - 10 Days is a very fast turn around time for lab test, I do not expect this to be possible unless he is doing self certification
-Molding tool manufacturing 15 Days - Tools are not logos, unless he is Foxconn, there is no way he is able to get a tool in 15 days. 3 weeks min
-FCC test before tooling - You cannot use a prototype housing to do FCC certification, you need the mass-produced version of the plastic
-Production PCB Layout 5 Days - He already did a layout twice before (alpha and pre-production), even if he is just doing fine-tuning at this point, it doesn't take 5 days to do a simple layout like this
-Overall timeline - he added up all of those times to get his production date but most of the items can be done concurrently (ie building tools while doing PCB layout and production at the same time)
-Production Units Assembly - 10 Days - 10 days to build 1500pc? For an initial pilot line, 1.5k will probably take 2-3 days for a simple product like this
I'm not saying this is a scam but just that the guy is not familiar with the process. Expect delays.

Yes that is exactly what it is, if you don't mind the size and the speed compromise, it is a perfect solution.

Thanks for all the feedback and support, I am well aware of manufacturing, I deal with it all the time.
- FCC & CE is covered, it is NOT a self certification, the testing lab is right around the corner from my office, I already got a time slot and a quote for it, I am going to do it even if the project doesn't get fund it.
- PCB manufacturing, Also covered, Do it all the time, Board house already got tooling and NRE, 5 days I can have first lot of board assembled.
- Well... You can request a detail project file with timlelines, quotes and details
Thank you for your feedback, but those time lines had been work in detail and I am certain i can accomplish it.

Will you be selling the part then even if you don't get the fund quoted on the site? Because that would be great. I'd surely love to have such item.

A little bit of a complex answer at this time, I am moving the project forward as much as I can on my own, however it would be a lot slower, once i get it closer to production (at least a fully cased, FCC tested device) I would try to fund it again for just the "production cost".
On the other hand I got a few private investors interested on the project however they are waiting on the final number on contributors to benchmark the market interest, if you would like to get one, I would suggest to still go to the site and pledge for one, that would help me get the funding even if it is from a private source. (worst case you will get your money back in 4 Days)

...car?
After careful consideration, I have come to the conclusion that it is the Bugatti Veyron. With a proven top speed of 253.2 mph, it is the fastest production car ever built.
At top speed the tyres last a whole 15 minutes, but you don't really need to worry about that as the 100 litre fuel tank would be empty after 12.5 minutes.
It's got an 8-litre, W-16, quad-turbo'd engine.
So it must be the best right?
So, how come when I went to the dealer's last week to buy one, he said it wouldn't suit me? Maybe there's more to this buying a car business than I thought!
I went into it a bit more with him and it turns out that it costs nearly £800,000...and that's just for the car! There's a mechanic on-call 24-hours a day, ready to be flown to where the car is but I'm pretty sure you'd still have to pay parts and labour!!
And get this - there's only two seats! Totally unsuitable for me, my wife and my two (soon to be three!!) children.
OK, so not the best car in the world for me then.
I decided to go onto one of those car-thingy websites and use that search button gizmo - it turns out you can look for things that you like and use that information to decide what the best car is for yourself - imagine that!
I decided that before I dropped nearly a million pounds on my next car, that I should look into it a little bit. Using my new-found search skills, I discovered that the best car for me is what's called a people carrier - and they're nearly £775,000 cheaper than my first choice!! Wow! I could save myself a lot of money here!!!
So, I figured I could have a go of each one and find out which one suited me best - did you know that there's all sorts of different configurations of them? It really is amazing you know - under seat storage, built-in entertainment systems, loads of seats, removable seats, loads of boot space, more compact ones - the list of possible configurations is mind-boggling but did you know you can try them out? Test-drive them, they call it. It helps you decide even further which one is best for you.
So, I've decided I'm going to follow a few simple steps to deciding what car to buy next...
Look at what I want from a car
Look which available cars have a spec similar to what I'm looking for. If none are spot on, which is closest and can I add things to it later?
Try them all out.
Read some reviews.
Hopefully, following these simple steps, I can soon decide which car is best for me.
Oh, and lastly, I've just found out that before I can test drive any of the cars, I need to have insurance against accidents! If you can believe such a thing would happen.
I've done some more reading a discovered that the best insurance is available from the "HardSPL 2.10.olipro" insurance company ;-)

Smiffy.
But does the Bugatti come in a "Black" version?
It did, but the initial release had a couple of problems - when you started the engine, the gearbox would freeze and it wouldn't move.
Only the black ones had this problem apparently but that 24-hour on call skilled mechanic is working to resolve the issue and it should be done by this weekend.
Some people have resorted to running the standard coloured one for the time being.
Sinclair C5.
Also known as PocketPC 2002.
This should be a STICKY!

HELP I WOULD LIKE TO GO OFF ROAD WITH MY VEYRON WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD THAT PATCH HOW DO I INSTALL IT WILL I HAVE TO TAKE OUT THE LEATHER INTERIOR IM ALREADY A CARMECHANIC SO I KNOW A LOT ABOUT IT BUT NEED FAST ANSWER?????
PS IT USES TOO MUCH FUEL????
couldn't resist. Sorry
Light version?
Turns out as well that you can get a Car Light version too - something called a Motorbike? This has had all the extra bits taken out to make it much quicker.
My problem is that my Car Light (motorbike) version seems to be very slow. All I've done is install a few things - 2 extra seats, a ton and a half of bodywork, 2 more wheels, a sunroof, air con and two tonnes of junk in the boot. Why does my Car Light version now seem no quicker than the full version?
I don't see why someone spent hours converting the Car into a Light version when they've obviously done such a shoddy job. I expect the mechanic to look into it NOW and post a new version within the next 20 minutes that will give me all the speed of the Motorbike version but still able to carry all my family and their luggage on our holiday.
And then I'm not going to say "thanks" after they try!

Impressed...you guys are good at this!
I've wrapped my Blue Angel round a lamp-post because I was doing 533 (Mhz) on an open road with a 70Mhz speed limit.
Can I sue Wizcode for supplying me Pocket Hack Master? My insurance has gone through the roof now...
If I make my car CID, can I put an F-18 fighter jet engine on it.
Cheers
Very funny Like it Lord
I really like some of the Lamborghini bits, so I started with a official shipped Murcielago and then grafted a few parts from a pre-release Veyron onto it - things like the alternator (heard it has more power for quicker startups). Then I grafted the electronics from the Veyron also (heard they have better reception on the radio and consumes less battery power when the car is not running) - I can get two WHOLE days without starting the car. Lastly, I took the dash out of the Veyron because it's user interface is way better. Turns out many of the mounts where in the same places, but I just hacked a few up to make it fit. Overall, it is awesome - great battery, great reception, really fast, quick to start and looks great. On the downside, sometimes it just stops while I am flying at 240 MPH and now I have voided the warranty - I am thinking of returning it to factory condition to see if I can get free service. ANYONE GOT A GUIDE??? THXXXXXXXXX.

It will if you rip the front from an 8-track cassette-deck and fit it with bluetooth-tac to the front of your Lambo, just above the badge.
It's a temp fix I know but until I package the OEM from Grundig into a .cab it'll have to do..
Do we have a verysion by Lucas yet?
Hi, before I get anywhere else in this thread I must first say thank you. Thank you to all the developers and testers, all the time you spent trying to perfect such a tiny little device meant so much, especially towards the beginning when dealing with MotoBlur was a hassle on its own. You all are very great at what you do, especially in comparison to my own knowledge on android development, which is nothing.
Secondly, I wasn't sure where to put this thread, I just set it somewhere where I knew it would have the best chance at being seen. I apologize in advance if I put it in the wrong subforum.
Anywho, the whole reason I made this thread is simple: I upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket, and am no longer in need of my Bravo.
I know I could use it as a backup phone, but to be honest I have an old Samsung Epix that I like to use off and on. Back to Bravo point, I feel like getting rid of it.
It's in fair shape, with no cracks or dead pixels, but with 2 years worth of scratches when using it without a screen protector. It even has a new battery I put in last month. I know it's not perfect, but I imagine someone on here has one in way worse shape, or needs a spare for development purposes.
So, my offer is this: anyone who is interested in this phone needs only to send me a PM with a very brief explanation as to why they'd like it. I'm not some dean of a university requiring a 12 point essay as to why you deserve it more, I'd just like to know what you'd benefit from it.
In return, whoever ends up getting it, I ship it to you, minus the usb cable and SD card. For free. In other words past the PM sent, I would require nothing more.
Is it wrong of me to set this up here? I dunno. I've just seen people discussing their phones in the past as having major cracks and such, or needing to buy another one, and decided giving it away was better than letting it sit and gather dust.
But anyway, if you stuck it out and read the whole thing, and you're interested, thanks for reading.

He was open to PM's on it for a week. I was the only one who replied so I was supposed to get it. He said I'd get in in a week or two -- that was almost 3 months ago and he hasn't logged onto XDA since August 16th. Hopefully nothing bad happened to him, but I'd have liked an "I'm sorry I can't send it PM" versus waiting on it for a month and a half and nothing.
//With his name being Hippyman, he could have easily been pulled over with a bag of "oregano". A buddy of mine got 3 months in county, 2 years probation, and drivers license revoked for 2 years because a state trooper in Arizona found a single weed seed on the floorboard (felony charge).
/csb time -- well, sort of
A few years back, I got an overnight job a Wal-Mart so I picked up my buddy and we went out driving all night (I was getting my body adjusted to overnight hours before the job started). I was stone cold sober, but my buddy had taken 2 xanax bars, a percocet, and a fifth of vodka (I despise pills and will never take them). A (county) cop pulled me over for going 55 in a 35 (I sped up to 55 because I SAW the speed limit sign that said 55 -- I ended up pulling over 3 ft from that sign). While he was searching my car (probable cause because my eyes were red from exhaustion) he found some tobacco on my floorboard from a cigar that was stepped on and I hadn't bothered to clean up (It was my first car and trashed to hell by this time so crap on the floor didn't matter to me by then; got a Mazda Miata a few weeks later).
The cop tried to give me a dui ticket for tobacco on the floor and having red eyes -- but it pissed him off that I could easily pass the sobriety tests - easily passed because I was SOBER.
The cop ended up giving me a speeding ticket cause he couldn't prove I was high (which I wasn't) and made my friend drive us out of that county -- remember that list of crap he had taken above, well, combine that with the fact that my friend didn't have a drivers license. He was totally f***ed up and nowhere in the state of mind to drive a car. I steered the car until we hit the county line a few miles later. Ended up having to pay $250 because I accelerated 100ft too soon.
If you ever go to Arkansas, stay away from Arkadelphia cause the cops their are complete morons. Also, if you ever do get pulled over, have a bag of "oregano", and get searched -- hide it in your damn left hand. I've been searched 3 times now with between a half ounce and two ounces and they have yet to find any of it......I have no idea how they missed the 2 oz in my hand, but they did....

Luckily, I've never been caught, except by my Dad when I was 17 (not smoking, just came home REALLLLLLY high). He ended up taking my stash, then 3 days later after he went through it, he came to me to get him some since it was way better than what he was getting at the time. When I told him it was only 25 a q, he was pissed cause he was having to pay 50 a q for the same. I was loling since connections were better than his.
The closest to actually being caught were the 2 times I was pulled over with quantity that I palmed in my left hand, and this time at school -- I was accused of drinking on campus that day; it was bs, I was drunk the previous day. Anyways, I had 2 packs of smokes and 2 separate halves on me -- one was regular, one was killer -- and on the way up to the office to get searched for the bottle I didn't have, I walked two steps behind the dean and started tossing my stash on top of lockers we went down the hall. Got searched, they found nothing, left the office, recovered everything, and went on with my day as usual. FYI, the one and only day I ever drunk at school was a free day at the end of the third quarter and all my tests were done -- the only thing on the agenda that day was watching movies or sleeping in class -- me and my buddy opted to get drunk. We'd have skipped that day, but if either of us would have one more day we'd be denied credit for the quarter. You could only miss 4 days every 18 weeks....
So there's actual rom crap here.....I flashed Quarx's CM10 Custom Kernel rom for the Defy Plus earlier (unmodified). Runs smooth and great, but the capactive buttons are way off and need to be fixed for normal use, camera didn't work (I expected that), capactive buttons also stay at 100% brightness. I think with a little bit of tweaking it could run great on the Bravo.

Good news on the rom!! and great story for a lazy sunday!
Haha great story. They never took my stash because I said it was all gone but I still haven't smoked it because the drug test me. Anyways, so does the Defy kernel make it a lot smoother than before or does it seem smoother or what?

it's smoother and snappier for a host of reasons - the main one being optimization of the interactive governor with power hal. using any other governor with these builds may cause problems. q is working on 3.0 kernel now

+1 to that. JB with custom kernel runs about as smooth as CM7 ports from back before Quarx supported the Bravo. The only real issue is the capacitive buttons. So far all I've done is grazed over the keylayout files, but they seemed to be the same as CM7 Defy keylayout. Enabling the virtual keys helps, but I'd like to figure out a real fix.
For the fun of it, I attempted to boot CM7 with the custom kernel, didn't work.
Have a working Defy CM7 1104 port (yesterday), bare bones works just fine, but one of PmR's tweaks killed the wifi . Having issues rebuilding framework-res.apk for the animations and some ICS theme elements. Still want to add in PDroid. I'll upload the bare bones rom later today if its wanted.
//Stash was taken cause I fell over the ottoman and it came out of my pocket. Only ever been tested for work; I've passed all but one, they called me for an interview WHILE I was smoking. Did every trick I knew and failed it. If I knew I wasn't going to be watched (first test at that place) I'd have brought clean pee with me. Medicinal MMJ on the ballot tomorrow, hopefully it'll pass since all my smoking anymore is for medicinal reasons -- a single bowl during the day (keeps me from being mean -- being an ass is a family trait of mine) and a bowl or two at night before bed to help me sleep -- once I turned 13 I started to get sleep issues to the point to where I would stay awake for 2-3 days at a time (insomnia sucks). I could take some happy pills and sleeping pills, but pills suck (most pill overdoses are from the chemical that holds the pill together, not the chemical that gets you high or whatever -- read about it, pills are evil). I didn't even take my pain pills from my last 2 breaks (left hand bone below pinky and tailbone) since they didn't even help.
i came back to see how my old phone's forum was doing and how much i miss that close relationship with the devs...and somewhere in that journey...
a **** arkansas!

Interactive gov works great, but it does have one bug -- its hard-coded with a max rate of 1Ghz. If you set vsel4 higher than 1Ghz it will bootloop. Switching to boosted allowed me to boot with 300\600\900\1200. Not sure if Quarx knows or not...not many of us OC over 1Ghz. Interactive needs either some tweak settings in the bootmenu or a script that will take the max vsel rate and apply that to interactive's max rate settings....but I just finished syncing with the repos so its time to start a Bravo build .
Huh that's weird. I've been running 1.1 ghz at vsel4 with all the 2nd boot builds.

That is weird, gonna set it to interactive real quick --- booted up and working just fine....I OC'd to 3\6\9\12 and bootlooped 3 times in a row, set to 3\6\9\10 and booted, set to 3/6/9/12 and bootlooped, changed to boosted and booted just fine, just now changed back to interactive and it boots....sigh.
Saw this new product on Motos blog. It's a digital tattoo. It works like a skip except you stick it to your are or any other body part you want. They come in a pack of 10 and will stick for 5 days under normal conditions (including showering, swimming, and activities that will build up a sweat). They are being sold by a company called Vivalnk and it is $9.99 for the pack. Waiting for mine to arrive. Once they do I'll post back about my experience. For those that want to try it here is the link to the blog post and a like to the website.

Been using it now for two days and it works great. It is still sticking through two showers and two days of sweating. However, unlike the skip you do need to turn the screen on first to unlock, but that is a non issue. So far I've gotten a few looks at why I am pressing my phone to my arm, but it doesn't bother me. The Digital Tattoo has saved me a lot of time unlocking my phone over the last two days and has made it easier than trying to unlock via my Skip. They say it should stick for five days. I'm going to see how long I can go before it starts to peal off. I'll post an update when it does.
Update:
I officially got 8 days out of my first tat. It started to peel and got a little crinkled. Now it will no longer unlock my phone. I would guess the average is 5 days. As they said it is dependant on your skin type and your activities. I have to say I think 8 days is pretty good. It lasted through showers, exercise, and work. Will be putting the next one on and see if I can get 8+ days out of it.
Works great. Wife calls me a nerd, though. I can live with that.
Cool concept, but couldn't a simple NFC tag accomplish the same thing? This makes me think of a Bio-Hacking article I just read where the person had implanted a small NFC tag into the webbing of their hand... That way the phone would unlock every time you pick it up!

An NFC tag or even a skip could be used, but the Digital Tattoo is all about quick and easy access.
Nothing quicker than just picking up your phone...
Cool but useless for now...
I think something like that NFCRing (.com) would be much more convenient.
I returned my Pixel 5 for a trade in credit on my new Pixel 6 Pro - I recieved a notice today that they had processed the trade in but that I had sent in something different than what I had claimmed when I made the order. They said I would get $36 for trading in a PIXEL 2 XL. This is so wrong and I feel like either someone switched my phone (the Pixel 5 that I actually sent in) with a different phone - or someone at GOOGLE has their head up the butt. I can't wait 5 hours to chat with them and I can't find an email address or phone number to use to request help. I have been an android user for many years (mostly Samsung but I have also had Pixel XLs - which I always used to sell on Swappa when I got a new phone) I have also traded in phones many times and have never had this problem., Any suggestions please?
Open a case with Google... not much we can do here

I'm pretty sure they use a 3rd party contactor for their warranty / trade-in processing and everything is scanned in to match with the packing slip you included with your trade. If that IMEI that you claimed was on your 5 subsequently gets scanned somewhere else or with a different trade-in, then it should be pretty easy to resolve.
Bummer, definitely file a claim asap... hopefully you will get a resolution!
Good luck. Google's chat and email support are literally the worst I've ever encountered from a lawful corporation.
Then I ordered my 6Pro, they blocked off their own financing option with a hold, then said the payment was denied (because of the hold they'd placed). When I called to correct it, they totally ignored everything I said and just changed the billing method to a different credit card (seemingly at random) attached to my Google Pay without my permission. After very literally SEVENTEEN emails, I just had to give up. Every single time they would fixate on some mundane thing and run with it as if that was the reason I was emailing. (sure! if you'd like a refund, simply use the return link on the store and ship the entire order back to us! Thanks for choosing Google!). At this point I would be hard to convince that anybody actually works for their customer support team, as opposed to it all just being another hat for Google Assistant. Hope your experience is better than mine, and if you happen to find a way to actually speak to a human, definitely share the secret

Did you make evidence of your trade-in (photos, videos) of the phone that you put in the package?
Google is not handling these trade-ins on their own, they have third-party companies that they contract to do their bidding. So if that third-party company is trying to rip you off, you need proof.
As a general suggestion. ALWAYS always make at least photos of EVERY tech product you send away by package, no matter if it's trade-in, return or whatever. Never ever trust other humans to not rip you off. You always need insurance, best case you just have a family member or buddy that you spend time with, have him as a WITNESS whilst doing the packaging.
That saved me a couple of month ago, some call me a paranoid in that regard, but last time I had to send in my LG CX, the repair company tried to rip me off "physical damage, bla, no repair, you pay us 200 bucks to dispose" when I came fully prepared with a written witness testimoney, a 70 picture protocol and a video proving that the TV was in pristine condition before sending it away. That took me like 10 minutes in time, but saved me far more than a grand. Totally worth it.
I didn't even have to wait for one hour until they gave me the notice that there was a human error and they would compensate me for the full MSRP that I originally paid.
If I hadn't been prepared, they'd have ripped me off. That's life. So be prepared, always!
That is life. You learned your lesson. Always back your *** up!
hopefully if you have some record some how of the IMEI number you can find your phone amongst the listed items on their system.
if they say it's still not there talk to the highest person at the place, tell them they have a thief working there and you'll be calling the police about it. in reality that might come to nothing but it also might be the kick up the ass needed for someone to do their job properly.

That's a good idea, he should definitely go to the police if Google doesn't help him. Best case someone just accidentally switched two devices whilst processing incoming packages , worst case this is simple thievery, if the story is true.
I considered this when I sent my Pixel 5 in for trade.
Hopefully taking pics of front and back with device on (to include the shipping label) will be enough, should the same thing happen to me.
Even a working Pixel 2 XL will get you about $50 so not only did they get the model wrong, but it's condition as well.

The police wouldn't do anything if the valuables are less than $1,000. Don't waste your time.
Agreed. Small claims court would probably be the next best bet if you can't make any headway directly with Google.
Thanks to all for their helpful tips and insight. Update: Finally got thru to tech support and they started a case - today, they emailed to ask If I would approve access to my account to access data about and associated with my Google Pixel product and account. Hopefully, this will help them get to the bottom of things....fingers crossed...
Just wanted to let everyone know that I finally heard back from the Customer Support staff regarding the trade in amount. Up to this point they only approved a total of $38 versus the trade in amount they had originally promised.
After concluding their investigation, they said I would be getting the amount I was expecting (just over $400 I believe) and went on to say it would be wrapped up very soon.
I was worried there for a while, it seemed to take way to long, but in the end they took care of things. I do appreciate all of the tips and input from everyone. Thanks!
Thanks for the update! Glad to hear it's working out.

Its important to keep Hanlon's razor in mind when dealing with people. It states "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity." -- an error is an extension of stupidity. So just work with the other side in good faith and chances are it will all work out in the end.
Glad to hear you got it sorted.
So, I bought 8 Pro back in June of 2020 and I live in Europe. This is important because of law differences between countries.
Last week my 8 Pro died right after OTA, MSM wouldn't work (I am experienced I don't need fix suggestions, trust me, I've done everything) at all. I spent few hours trying to fix it and no luck. Phone is completely dead, no USB sound nor dmesg logs no matter what I do. I used to have various hard bricks before on 8 Pro and other devices. All successfully recovered. This time on the other hand it happened during an OTA, designed for this device. What that means is that this procedure has no right to break the phone, but it did, so it means that something went terribly wrong and possibly lead to hardware damage somehow? No idea.
Next thing I did was to go to OnePlus Support website and register for repair. I took pictures before sending the phone as reviews of the repair place were extremely bad, in fact they have hundreds of negative reviews. Of course I don't believe everything I read and that's why I asked my friends about their experience and two of them had successful repair/replacement and others had bad experience too (and funny enough, I already had to deal with them before! Back then I did actually have warranty but they were refusing to fix it for free, giving me completely stupid reasons)
Pictures taken, phone safely packed (this is important) and here we go, now I'm just waiting for their reply.
They got it! Their reply? "We found that Your motherboard is in fact damaged and it has to be replaced, quotation for that will be almost 500 USD", reason for quotation: "device out of warranty".
Now this kinda confused me because in Europe all phones have 24 month warranty as long as they were purchased in Europe. Now, for example Samsung knows this and their warranty documentation mentions that You can buy Your S22 Ultra in Germany and fix it in other EU countries for example. And this also applies to other companies as I've used warranty repair before and within 24 month period it went smoothly.
So I decided to contact OnePlus directly, they told me that devices bought from stores other than their own one have only 12 month warranty. Why did I even buy it from a different store? Because theirs was out of stock when I wanted to buy the phone and it didn't have Cash on Delivery payment option which I just needed at the time. So it pretty much meant that I can no longer get my phone fixed for free. At that point I contacted Consumer Rights in order to verify if a company can actually do something like their own kind of a limited warranty (they haven't replied yet). And in the meantime rejected quotation as I got a backup phone for cheap so I'll just sell 8 Pro for parts and if I'll get enough from parts I'll get a used one in okayish condition for cheap. (I have lots of Development projects for this device so time matters a lot to me)
Sounds like nothing else could go wrong right? Wrong! As soon as the device was sent back, it came in just plastic foil packaging which offers absolutely no protection. What's even worse? DISPLAY IS CRACKED. No, not from the outside. From the inside!
I had no idea how that happened until one guy from my Telegram Group told me it's most likely because Repair guy mixed up screws during the "expertise" and ended up damaging the display. And You guessed it, others in reviews also mentioned occasionally such things happening to them.
"Authorised repair service", authorised to destroy people's devices I assume?
So now I basically have a 100% trash phone that has no functional parts.
And You'd ask why don't You go to court? Well. I messed up. Usually these businesses have a simple policy "check the item in front of the delivery guy" and I didn't. I could use for an excuse the fact that yesterday I had a diabetic hypoglycemic seizure and I fell on the concrete floor and messed up my head really badly, back of my head is swollen, it was bleeding before as well, my right eye is all red and my foot is missing a lot of skin but most importantly I have extreme headaches, I can barely think straight and I'm very thankful for XDA using dark theme right now because my eyes are crazy sensitive to light. So yes, I just didn't think about it.
Check out pictures below. I also wanted to show their packing instructions which I followed a little too much just to ensure that such expensive phone (1200 USD) will be delivered safely but somehow their pdf website is 404 now. And You can see in the picture what they actually used for packing. Plastic. Thin, plastic.
This thread is mostly a warning for people to be very careful with their OnePlus phones and NEVER buy them from other websites. I paid the same price and got half of the warranty time and no sellable parts.
Sorry to hear about this.
First things first, sounds like you have a concussion, at least. You should have x-rays to rule out a fracture(s). Eye examination to rule out structural damaged especially the retina.
Concussions take at least 30 days to heal. Jacking up your bp isn't being of service to you.
Laying down ramps your bp down a lot... it can save your life. Rest.
Be very careful not to fall again while recovering especially in the bathroom and kitchen.
Phones can be replaced but your health can't.
Once I have a Android OS that's fast, stable and is fulfilling its mission, I leave it alone. Updates can and do break things. It's possible the mobo failed under the strain of updating, but much more likely it was hard bricked by it.
Your best recourse may be to use the consumer protection laws that are in place in your country. It takes time so be patient.
Document everything including a call log.
When you're feeling better go after the One Plus reps. Lean on them, if it takes 3 dozen phone calls keep at them. If you can get the CEO's office number even better.
Letters to the CEO if you're so inclined. At the very least they owe you a display.
File a claim with the carrier; they have more and better resources than you. This may save you from the burden of proof as you did document it and hopefully insured your shipment.
I've gotten a refund check from Sony, which is almost unheard of. Being assertive and having the facts work. Don't let them weasel their way out of this.
