Install this, works wonders. I also use ktoon's kernel.

This is an actual jb rom, not a leak. Based on the sprint ROM. Works well, been using it for a few weeks.

I'm presently looking for a CM10 Jelly Bean ROM that has the least bugs.I am travelling soon and need a solid ROM so it doesn't give out randomly.
List of AOKP/CM10 JB Links:
1) task650 and Ktoonsez: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766684.
This one I tried about three weeks ago, was way too buggy. I switched. There`s many more bug releases though, so is this a viable option as an everyday driver?
2) cyanogen: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778270
This one so far has worked best for me, but there`s still quite a few bugs that bother me, but I could use it if needed. I just need a stable daily driver.
3) krarvind: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1865262
I`ve never tried this one, was just released today. Any input on lag, glitches, bugs, etc please let me know.
Firstly, I`d like to thank you for the support. I have have two more questions.
Which Jelly Bean kernel is currently the most stable?
Currently for CM10 there are two kernels released, as far as I know.
The first being again, by Ktoonsez: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756776
The second is the faux123 kernel. This is the one I think I should personally use: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1785472
Thank you all in advanced, I would really appreciate the help!

I have been very happy with CM10
AOKP is working great for me right now.
I like Ktoonsez and Task rom then.
I apologize if this sounds rude but neither of your answers helped at all. You basically said you like AOKP and CM10. They`re all AOKP and CM10 AFAIK.

You are going to end up with nothing but opinions here. You need to try each and see if they work for you. No one uses their phone exactly the way you do so can't tell you which bugs YOU may find and which ones you can live with. Best ROM threads are bull**** and should not be asked. Read the OPs of each and decide which is best for you!

Not being a ****. Not being rude.
Just putting in my 2 cents.
If you need something 100 percent stable. That is going to perform. And you do not have 100 percent access to a computer or w.e to access with your phone for Odin in case things go haywire. Stock is the best most stable thing out there.
But. Like the above user said. Its all a matter of opinions. No facts. But I would say ktoons AOKP atm for most stable.

what rom do you use?
btw i was in FL last week and went to coco beach.. that place was sweet
They all have small bugs here and there. If you can live with those particular bugs, then all are pretty much daily drivers.
IMO, the CM9 based AOKP by Task/Ktoonsez is 98% bug free.
Biggest issue is flakey vibration when typing. Sometimes it vibrates, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it vibrates softly.
Otherwise it's almost on par with a stock ROM bug-wise. I wish we could get someone to fix the vibration issue. It's an amazing freakin ROM otherwise. Best I've ever used.
And, it's just as fast/smooth as JB with the same (IMO) battery performance when used with Ktoonsez AOSP kernel.
I keep trying CM10 and JB AOKP and keep going back to ICS AOKP. But JB is getting close!
EDIT:
I should mention that I always use 3rd party camera, phone, gallery and SMS apps. So if ICS AOKP has issues with those apps, I don't know about it because I don't use them.
hello everyone..im just a new gnex user here..i want to ask whats the best rom for you guys?
i try to keep my nexus as stock as possible…. i didn't even unlock the bootloader, i love pure google, although i experienced some bugs, for example my whole gallery was deleted from one day to another… all the pictures lost… this was under 4.1.2

im newbie in here..thats why im asking you guys..
Welcome to the forums as well!
Right now I'm trying out AOKP (Build 5) after coming off of CM 10 (M2). Both AOKP and CM10 are pretty rock solid to me - I've never had any issues with either of them. CM10 have higher benchmark scores than AOKP did, but AOKP (to me) has a much better battery life and allows for far more customization (colors, lock screen, menu, toggles, etc). But even though AOKP doesn't score as high, I don't see any "real" performance hit... if any. I've never really trusted benchmarks on how well my phone will perform... I just like having high numbers to show off ;D
Overall, AOKP is doing wonders for me! Running that along side Air Kernel (with my beloved SmartAssV2 governor).
Here's my advice to you:
- Download a ROM you think you'll like; CM10 for example.
- Go into your custom recovery (CWM or TWRP) and flash it.
- Get it setup the way you want to (ie: Add your apps, settings, kernel, etc)
- Make a Nandroid backup (include boot.img to keep your kernel)
- Wipe everything afterwards and flash another ROM! (like AOKP, Codename, etc)
Just keep doing that until you think you know what ROM you wanna use. Then you can just restore that backup you made and you good to go! ^_^

-Codename android is close to stock with some of the goodies from AOKP and CM10
-AOKP
-Paranoid android if you like messing around with the DPI
Those were my top 3 roms. Feel free to browse and choose a rom in the dev section.
Good luck!
I like MIUI. I recommend downloading different ROMs and trying them out and seeing which one you like. Some are similar to stock but enhanced functionality others are like HTC Sense or TouchWiz with a very different look and feel.
Try a few out.
I personally like the stock experience. Being with Verizon (Toro), we don't get the latest updates 'til probably around 6 months after. In this case, I use BuglessBeast to get the latest with stock experience. Hope that helps!
Read through some ROM posts before flashing. Bugs can pop up in the best of them. I personally like Codename. Just depends on how much customization you want. I agree with the other posts about trying more than one. After all that's half the fun.
My personal favorite is Bamf + diet kernel. There is no bugs what so ever and it is very stock with the customization features that you want.
Xenon HD +Trinity kernel ftw.

I'm running XenonHD form Oct24th. I have tried others and found this ROM working well for me. I did run the XenonHD from 9/29 prior to that. Apparently when I installed a version after 9/29, that one was not behaving well. So I went back to 9/29 until today.
Just finished the install a couple hours ago.
I find the battery life of the XenonHD rom to be very good (for what I do with the phone).
Surely there are many other great ROM's out there and the best ay to find YOUR Rom is to try a few.
Good luck and have fun with your GNex.

I really dont know If I want to run complete stock or run a rom. I don't like themes unless it was on a HTC phone with sense , but I like pure stock. Is having a rom will I get better performance cause ive ran AnTuTU & and Quadrant and seem to get better results by a little but I know people say not to go by benchmarks. I just want the best Performance and reliability.
Best performance is still subjective without narrowing in on a certain aspect. In the end it all comes down to your perspective of what works best for you in your usage patterns.

You could try ARHD. It's completely stock look, just changes "under the hood", if you will. Or you could remain with Stock, nothing wrong with that.
Well I do see a benchmark increase when using a ROM but im not sure to belaive it or not. I`m not sure ive been going back in foruth for almost a week now:laugh: I just wanna have something to leave on there lol.
I was using Omega but I dont like the its currently using a leaked 4.1.2 instead of offical 4.1.1
Most of the roms in the rom section are all 4.1.2 anyway. So you would have to be on that firmware if you flash a custom rom.
A little bit of my history. I've flashed a lot of custom roms for this phone and I've always found that I always revert back to stock rom. It's the most stable and battery efficient. There's always a problem with some app which I use which doesn't work when I used a custom rom.
So I gave up and just stuck to stock rom.

Which stock rom would be best?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
I have this device for about 2 weeks. Almost flashing everyday from custom to stock and vice versa. Now I am back at Stock Rom and just enjoying the device.
It's better to be in Stock ROM I think when you use a smartphone like Note 2. Stock ROM comes with proper functions that can utilize the hardware properly, specially that S Pen. It's just 7 day I have this device and I tried few ROM but back to stock now.
I rooted my phone with plans to use a custom rom, but after researching the different roms, though they add cool features, they always seem to break something else on your phone, and it seems like you have to spend a lot of time researching, downloading different fixes, just fiddling around with your phone. So I decided not to go that route and just wait for the official ATT updates.

Where are two kinds of ROM for Note: one is based on AOSP (open sources) like CM10, and second – on Samsung sources (aka touchwiz or tw). First one is still a little buggy and don’t have proprietary software like exFat, S-Pen and so on.
ROM based on Samsung sources usually as stable as a stock rom and have all Samsung features.
Most popular are Android Revolution HD & Omega. Also a Hypernote is good, if you want clean installation and 280dpi for more screen real estate.
It is also worth looking at MIUI ROM – today it officially released for Note2 and (as I suggest) based on Samsung ROM.
I know what cm10 is and such I ran it on older phones I couldnt bare cm on the note though. I wad meaning which stock rom is better to use under the stock rom thread? Im on th4 germsny one

I think the Stock rom is a fantastic rom.
I don't root or anything. This phone FLIES by itself, it also offers very good stability. I don't have any crashes whatsoever from the system itself. If it does crash, it's the APP. (ejem ejem... CHROME!) But I don't have issues with the stock ANYTHING. Great phone. I can get more than a full day of use, or 4-5 hours of screen time with regular usage (not downloading torrents or anything like that over 3G. I mean with regular usage, email, chat, FB, some pictures, browsing the web etc etc).
Yea im prob gonna run stock plus root and kernal. But whats the best stock rom to odin? What do you all use?

I'm still on stock ICS and I found out that Samsung released Jelly Bean but if I have to flash a ROM through Kies I might as well bite the bullet and get a custom ROM. I've been poking around the development forum and can't really choose one. CM10 and Liquidsmooth both look alright but then I read about problems with Bluetooth and a crackling sound. I use Bluetooth in my car almost everyday and if I can't get a somewhat clear sound I might not want these ROMs. Can anyone suggest ROMs that might be what I am looking for? The things I am looking for are battery (Right now I get strange wakelocks (bam_mux_lock or some such in Better Battery Stats), GPS, Bluetooth, and a smooth running, no lag system.
Can anyone give suggestions?
From my experience, the touchwiz ROMs seem to be more stable. I'd highly recommend Jedi knight or intergalactic.

Going to try out Intergalactic, thanks!
Darthstalker from Jovy23 is a fantastic rom very stable and just awesome looking I highly recommend it.

had my S3 rooted and flashed AOKP's very stable 4.1.2 rom within an hour of getting it home. i'm extremely pleased with my phones performance. i've used AOKP roms (including task650s) in the past and have always enjoyed them. in addition, i've also flashed the 4.2 camera and a few stock sammy apps back onto to the phone to get it exactly how i want it. there's no reason to ever be running an android phone fully stock.
recently updated to PACMAN based on CM10 and the camera isnt working.
I know this is standard on SGS3 and Note 2 with CM10 - has anyone successfully got the old 4.1.2 camera installed on 4.2.x?
i really like this ROM and the camera not working is the only thing stopping me from using it on a daily basis.
