[Update] 2/2/13
I tallied up the results and we have a winner! Coming in with 15 votes, the one, the only, Task with AOKP. Task beat out Stock (rooted) with 9 votes and CM with 8 votes. LiquidSmooth got 4 votes. AOCP, Triune, ParanoidKang, JellyBam, Darthstalker, and JellyBro all got 2 votes. Finally, FrostyJB, Slimbean, BlackJelly, AeonFlux, Loser, galaxy mod, and CSRom got 1 vote.
So there you have it. Go with AOKP, or don'l go with anything at all...
[OLD]
I would like to hear what you think is the most stable ROM that you have used. The top parameter should be stability, not battery life, customization, features, or speed, just stability. Be build specific if you can.
Thanks
11/17/12 EDIT: Thanks everyone for the feedback. Looks like a lot of votes for CM10 and AOKP.
I first started off with CM10 nightlies about 2 months ago. Then I switched to AOKP for a month. Now I'm back to CM10. I just flashed the stable release and it is the most stable I have had to date.

No glitchiness with either ROM and battery life is optimal on both.
Deciding factor for which you prefer might be whether you want a vanilla JB or an optimized TW-based ICS ROM. Both are highly customizable.
Neither choice would leave you wanting for much, IMO.

CM10 also fixed the top mic problems recently, but both Task AOKP and CM10 have echo on calls now. Presumably the mic fix caused the echo (noise canceling?).
As far as stability, rooted stock Rom is your best bet for TW, I can't really give an unbiased opinion in terms of aosp as I have always stuck with aokp.

Running stock LI5. Rock solid and stable... only rooted and removed bloat.
Well, I'm only a noob and I am learning quickly. I've flashed BlackJelly, AOKP, Task and Ktoonsez AOKP, High on Android, and latest Paranoid and Paranoid Kangdroid. I've played with different kernels and modems and anything else I can flash in CMW.
I liked them all, but as of today, I'm thinking I'll stick with Paranoid Kangdroid, with CM10 kernel, inverted Gapps.
I'd like to thank all the devs for their work. Each ROM had something which stood out.
But for now Paranoid Kangdroid has my vote.
Of course I'm just a noob!

Id 2nd this choice..other than the annoying "double take" on the camera which doesnt affect functionality anyway the build has been flawless in my use of the phone update after update.
My Wifi signal is improved as well which was a much needed improvement.
I will be sticking with Tasks build, probably wont even bother with the JB OTA if it ever comes.

JB ROMs are not yet fully baked (Netflix doesn't work, screen flickering, etc.etc.), and other random annoyances depending on the particular ROM in question.
As a result, I've decided to stick with ICS ROM's for now and Ariel 2.0.4 seems to be about the cream of the crop from a combined feature/function perspective.

That's good to know, but it doesn't change the fact that there are typically little quirks and wonky parts of JB ROMs that keep me from using one as a daily driver, hence my endorsing an ICS ROM below.
Netflix was just an example of what had been a common problem among early JB ROMs, and while it's cool that's been fixed, there are invariably other easter eggs that don't seem to exist in ICS custom ROMs, I guess is the point I was trying to make.
Of course, to each their own; what might be important to me might not be to the next person, but that's what makes the ability to flash any/all ROMs and then nandroid back if you don't like them, so cool.

I use Kyan ROM because it is rock solid stable, has good battery life, takes away all of the bloat and lets me add back stock apps via CWM if wanted. I am waiting to go to an AOKP 4.0.4/4.1.1 build such as Task and Ktoonz or Cyangenmod. However, they all have bugs and I have very little tolerance for technology that does not cooperate with my expectations. So until the bugs are worked out, Kyan ROM for me.
which rom is the fastest without overclocking? I found that quadrant scores have been the best on stock. I've tried it on CM9, CM10 and kyan, but they all produce low scores. GTA 3 gets laggy on CM10 too, gonna try it on stock and see how it performs.

excuse me for my noob question, but how do you debloat stock rom?
Go in with a root enable file explorer and remove all the stock and carrier added apps that you don't want/don't use. You can also find different flashable zips that fix and/or enable/disable certain "features", such as the continuous wifi connected notification, enable native tethering, etc. A lot, if not all, of the customized stock roms include these and others by default. I'm actually downloading Ariel right now to try it out as it seems to have a lot of this done already.
I vote aokp, rock solid stable, and extremely smooth.
You should really try a cm based jellybean ROM, if you haven't yet, you'll be amazed by how fast and smooth it is compared to stock.
Ariel is the best stock rom nothing compares to it, its bug free free has aroma installer, where you can choose what mods you want to flash in cwm and has more features than any other stock rom hands down the best.

Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone has thoroughly tested both Cyanogenmod 10 and AOKP with Jelly Bean. If you have, what are the performance differences, as well as the default theming, and most importantly, battery life. I'm currently on Bugless Beast which has no modifications, so I'm not really interested in which has more features, because I'm sure they're both full of them. Currently I get around 2 hours of screen on time (CDMA Nexus), which I consider good, so If you've experienced more than that on either of these roms, please let me know. I plan on switching to one of them when I receive some good reviews. Thanks

Seriously, if you're not into customizing, stock. Stock ROM, stock kernel, just stock. Unless you have Verizon since there's no JB update I don't think
If you really want either of them, here's my "short comparison"
AOKP: AOKP is probably one of the most customizable ROM out there. It has all the settings that I personally care for and use a lot. On top of that, faux kernel helps this ROM run like a boss! Not a smoothest ROM though to be honest. Also not all the features from ICS is in JB yet, so keep that in mind.
CM10: This also has a lot of customization, but not as customizable as AOKP. (That's only by few features though). CM is known for how stable it is. I personally had no issue with CM when running it on my GSM phone. However, there isn't stable version yet.

Yeah, but CM is a bit more stable in my taste. But nothing to write a book about AOKP is very stable, like you said.
You can't judge a rom if it isn't labeled as "stable" by the dev.
I am using AOKP since the
early ICS builds and i am using their JB versions now. They have tons of customization (and much more to come) and although they are considered nightlies (actually they are weeklies or so ) they are pretty stable and fast.
I have always used franco kernel with it and it is just great.
I currently use AOKP build 4 with franco r281, a black wallpaper, black theme and auto brightness. I get 4 hours of on screen time using the extended 2000mah battery. Besides the on screen time the rom is very battery friendly, with no random wakelocks.

Has anyone tried wanam vs Ariel ? Which is more stable and smooth ?
What : AOKP 10-13-3012 paired with ktoonez KT747 kernel
Why : smooth as silk, nothing i've tried to do hasn't not worked (yes thats a double negative, thats how awesome it is) and paired with the undervolting capabilities of KT747 the battery life is amazing
What more could you ask for in a rom/kernel combo.....other than maybe a sammich
I've used PA, CM10 and AOKP, but im on SlimBean for now. Use to use CM10 as DD but its been very buggy lately. Tried PA for a few weeks but hybrid mode is nothing special, and AOKP had bad battery life for me. SlimBean is ok, not the best but good enough to be a DD. Battery Life is decent. Never tried Baked rom yet but it looks interesting...
I don't really feel like I have a DD just yet. I'm still going thru the searching process for one. For a while, I was using Blazer, then I switched to a couple different JB leaks. I ran a couple different versions of Drew Garen's JB Roms: Milestones 2, 3 & 3.5. They weren't stable enough for me to use daily because of too many force closes and random re-boots. Then I switched to Graffixnyc's BlackJelly: Versions 0.6, 0.7 & 0.8.
I like the theming done in BlackJelly. But lately in V0.8, I've been getting random re-boots. I'm going to test drive Serinity next (probably flash it later today).
I'm really just hopping around sampling everyone elses theming until the official JB is released, then I will probably flock to the one I liked best with a stable ROM. By the way, I don't use any touchwiz, I prefer to use Nova Launcher.
I haven't tried any CM10 or AOKP yet. I'll probably do that when it moves away from nightlies (not that the JB leaks are more stable by any means).
I use liquid rc5, tried switching to pa 2.21, and aokp build 4, but nothing seems to work as well as liquid. New play store installed and working, and as well as jb flash player. Agreed. The only issues I had with the AOKP ROM was black screen sleep death or whatever and also the screen hated to come back on when I would try to hang up a call.

I've had both of these problems as well. So small that they hardly go noticed. I've minimized the black wake screen with the voltage control settings below.
Task650 AOKP 4.1.2 JB. 11/18 Build
Underwear kernel (Intellidemand/Deadline)
I wanted to solve the same problem for my wife. I installed wanam Rom. It still looks and feels the same but it more than doubled her battery life over stock Rom. She hasn't complained since.
Ps. I wouldn't recommend putting her on cm10, AOKP, or any Aosp Rom for two reasons, she will most likely miss touchwiz features she is used to, and she will probably run into more problems with some stuff not working.

Task's AOKP ROM is the ****
Really liking Liquid Smooth. Great battery life very customizable. Second choice would be Serenity.
Task's AOKP ROM for me. Though I did have battery life problem as my phone was awake all the time. I wiped it clean and had only a few widgets, and add juicedefender app and my battery life was much much better. Maybe it's not the ROM but what your sister has on her phone?
I've got a SGS 3 now and let my wife have the SGS 2. The first day I had it I got 4 hrs and 7 minutes of screen on time on the stock ROM. That was texting, checking email and surfing the web. I don't have a lot of apps installed such as facebook etc... and I don't keep it synced to google servers. I rooted it but am sticking with stock for now. Seems to be doing well.
I'm using liquid smooth beta 2 aoap jelly bean 4.2.1 rom and the audio on the ROM has problems when I make a call its low even in speaker I can barely here. Can this be fixed?

Its a known issue with all cm10, aosp, and AOKP ROMs.
However Task650 4.2.1 is now working perfectly fine. Audio is back to normal like stock touchwiz.

Thanks I guess ima go and get that ROM until the liquid smooth beta 3 comes out.

There was a recent fix not too long ago, but LS hasn't updated since before it was merged. Its fine on Rootbox, Task's AOKP and official CM10.1 nightlies for what I've heard
Same kinda thing happens for me on paranoid android. The bluetooth sounds like crap. No bass and I think its mono

I had to much bass on my ringtone I thought it was the ring tone but it wasn't but I switched to task AOKP and I'm starting to like this rom better. But still going to try out liquid smooth b3.

Bluetooth is broken on current AOKP 4.2 roms. Task650 has a test build that may help but no guarantees (and no support is being offered since it's a test build
