Hi everybody, I've always used my ipod for music and such, but I recently lost it. So I decided to just use my gs3 for the time being, but no matter what headphones i use, or how far i put them in or twist them, my sound comes out watery. instrumentals are fine for some reason, but vocals sound horrible, and anything electronic like dubstep is sqeaky and underwatery. Please help, I have a long drive in a few hours and Id like tohave my headphones!
Does the music crackle? Are you on a stock Rom? Are you running a custom kernel?

everything is stock, ive never tryed flashing or anything.
Yeah... i would try a system restore. If that doesn't work then exchange it. You shouldn't have a problem exchanging it since it sounds like you have a damaged phone.

Try this:

This huge piece of lint was in my old iPhone's headphone jack (it gave similar issues, with vocals almost silent):

I just got mine back from repair. I had a similar issue and Samsung fixed it. They had to replace the headphone jack component the only downside to the repair was that it took a little over a week.
Good thing I hadn't rooted the phone before I voided my warranty.
Now I'm all rooted and happy!

I need a specific ROM that could fit my needs for my S3. I need something where I could either overclock my device, use the multiple apps in one screen (split screen or two apps on one screen), has Touchwiz 5.0, Jellybean, etc. I also want something with features similar to the Note 2 as well in a hybrid form. Thanks for any suggestions.
Serenity 1.2

Why not get a Note 2? It will satisfy all your requirements.
Serenity 1.2 on S3 is the closet thing right now, but Multiview is WIP.
Work in progress, oh ok, makes sense. Well I hope they get it done soon. Thank you. I just bought the Note 2 today for a family member.
How do you use Multiscreen?
Not really sure, but on videos I see, long hold back key.

Not working yet either. 1.2 is basically a port of a JB rom. Little things here and there but the features people are striving for are broken.

¡Puta Barca!
It's a paid app
Although it is available for free it is still a paid app in the play store

To me this is the kind of mod that affects hardware which I'm not comfortable with. I just would feel weird pushing my speakers beyond what they are designed for. I think a lot of people would rather have the option in like an Aroma installer than have it pushed to them.
Because not everyone needs it.
It's currently not working properly with JB as well, correct? That's what the dev says on the play store page...
I use volume + everyday. With jb, and it works fine. All the settings work as intended. I just figure everybody wants better quality music, and volume+ coupled with Dolby makes my phone sound great. Its loud and crisp with no crackles even with my processor running as low as it goes!!

Not everyone needs a lot of things that different Roms offer. I think having options is more desirable if they are worthy of use.

Your phone is not going to sleep at all, just look at the first picture, it says it's being awake for the whole 10 hours. Probably an app keeping it up.

I had this before, but a reboot seems to fixed the problem for me and never came back.
Under settings > sounds > uncheck dial pad tones, touch sounds , screen lock sound.
Reboot. Keep an eye out for the 1013 wake lock. See if you still have the problem.

Cool, glad it helped you. I'm no expert in the underlying Android OS. However I had the same issues on an HTC device. I scowered the internet looking for a solution.
1013 seems to be some part of the Android media stack for system sounds. And for some off reason, it tends to go rogue and consume battery. *shrugs* glad you aren't chewing through battery anymore.

Does anyone know any really good roms for the Galaxy Nexus. I'm tired of the original one so I want to put on a new ROM my phone is getting real boring

The Development section is like your shopping isle. It's unfair if you don't give other developers a chance based on what someone else says.

oh god why op -_-
just....wow
To the OP...I know you're new here so I will cut you some slack. If we havent scared you off already, just know for future reference that your question gets asked constantly here. And every single time, we tell them "just try them out and see for yourself". All the ROMs are good and you will get multiple answers from people because of that. And in the end, your question wont even be answered. So just start flashing and have fun modifying your phone.
10 bucks says the OP is back in the Q&A forum saying they can't get past the Google boot logo sometime today... :highfive:
I'm new to xda not to hacking, moding, flashing and tech in general.

Sir, being new....I would say, do some....no do a lot a reading thru the Development Section. And in the Q&A section to see what is being posted and then you make a run for yourself to start flashing...
Thanks.
Noticed the S3 threads seem like they're slowing down. Time to upgrade in guessing

You gotta be kidding me? What else are you expecting we have pretty much every rom available there's no more for people to port or and issues ect. Fell free to upgrade but do not try to Blaim it on there isn't ehnough threads.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Wasn't saying I'm going to upgrade or was I talking ****. Just saying this thread has slowed way down. People must have upgraded. I appreciate all the hard work the devs have done. So you sir can.......

i think the development threads are still busy, just hasn't been many updates in the past week. seems like there are some data issues with the latest CM nightly's, which i think might be keeping roms based on that from being updated for the time being... just my 2 cents.
Might be because most of the bus are worked out and everything is working good... I know there hasn't been much activity in my thread but there are over 450 downloads.
