My one X home page lag - HTC One X

Everytime I'm in an app and click the home button to go to desktop it has to load. Is this normal?
I'm running all stock software... Haven't rooted it yet. Will rooting it take this lag away?
brought to you by my One X, prolly while I'm at work haha

no it is not normal, you could try resetting everything instead of rooting

So just hit it with factory settings?

Sounds like you have to go to Setting --> Developer Settings. Then down in the bottom untick the don't keep activities thingy...

Not to insult you but are you sure you picked HTC sense?
Cause I just did it on my freshly format phone, with no other launcher installed, and it wasn't grayed out.

Well, if you uninstall whatever launcher you are using, then the next time you hit the home button it will ask which to use and it will have a check box to set whichever you choose as default.
Also, you could download a default controlling app from the market.
I just read your first reply and i didnt read carefully.. u put PICK CURRENT LAUNCHER. THANKS!!!

cm7 power bar? and miui back button?

Alright, my favorite thing in cm7 was the notification pull down power control. I recently switched over to mikfroyo and it does have a power control in the notifications pull down but it can't have more than 6..
also..
Is there anyway I could get the hold back to force close current app that was in miui?
Thanks for the help guys
(also, what is the best kernel for battery/performance on mikfroyo? and is there a way to replace mikfroyo phone app with the one from miui?)
bump, anyone know??
Mui and cm has the hold back button to terminate app. It isbn available with sense atm
Most roms have a power control pull down. Not sure why one would need more than 6, looks crowded with more
swyped from my cm7 w/4G

Well I went back to the cm7 rom from above.. I tried the hold back to force close current app but it doesn't do anything. Do I have to enable it somewhere or is there a .zip I can flash to enable it?

App for restarting phone

Is there an app which can restart the phone but without rooting the phone..
Why do you need that ? Just press and hold the power button for a few second, the Phone options will pop-up, just choose restart to restart the device.

look at the first app in the list dude. You just might have to actually READ the Apps description. other than that you have to root.

You could Quick Boot if you wish. Can also reboot straight to recovery and bootloader. Unfortunately I can't link to it as I've only recently joined XDA.

I dun reboot that much..Just once a day..but I dun want my power button to get depressed because I have to rely on unlocking on the same button..which gets pressed quite a lot of times...
Also if you could suggest me some widgets or apps that can help me to lock my phone..I used extended controls which was not a great experience because when I unlocked the screen remained black till I switched on to some other application ..

I don't think it will harm the proximity sensor, it just that I don't like to see a red light on the proximity sensor light up when using this app as I guess it use more battery...and that's maybe the reason why they have a time-out to kill the app after certain time. Once the app is killed, you still need to press power on. Anyhow, this is my personal opinion only, nothing against the app; I maybe wrong.

Since Apr 3rd, two days after the HOX officially launched in my country. Do not really notice that, maybe because I seldom use the power button as my device is rooted, using quick boot for reboot, reboot to bootloader & recovery, swipe to power on and so on.
Why are you even rebooting once a day? It isn't necessary and will solve all of your problems.

JB problems

Hey guys.
Today I update my Xperia S from Sony PC Companion, on JB 4.1.2. After an half hour of usage I noticed that there is no notification bar, then I noticed that there is no SmallApps, I can't change my lock screen wallpaper, and theme too, no sound on notifications, there is no also like it was on ICS: long press on home button will show your latest apps, now, nothing happen. Am I did something wrong, or it's that just by JB? If it is, I can tell that I'm truly disappointed.
so many changes from the leak, including not having main android features like long pressing home button and malfunctioning status bar defines that update was not successfully processed. try updating again
