I've been having trouble with my campus wifi.. Instead of just entering a password, I have to enter my campus email and password. After x ammount of time of being inactive it disconnects me and I have to go through the process again...
Is there a way I can force my phone to remember the login info for it? I haven't found anything that would enable it just yet. :\
Does it open browser that you are required to log in with as if your using hotel wifi? If it does, then try Google Chrome
Yes it does. I use Chrome, but it never gives me the "Do you want to save this password?" when I have that option enabled. :\

You can try a password manager like Roboform or Lastpass.
I dont know if your campus has it, but UMD (University of Maryland) had two options, one PUBLIC where you had to enter your email (userid) and password, and another network was secure. What i did is connected to the secure, and simply entered my Userid (the one that school gave you, the one u use to sign in to the system to register for classes) and the password. worked great for me

hey, for some reason i cant log in to facebook using pocket IE. any ideas why? is there some other browser i can use that would work? if so, how do i get it? thanks
omar
I assume you mean the mobile version of it. It used to work. No idea why it stopped. I just go to the standard version now. PITA. Maybe the carrier?

Nope, its Internet Explorer. Bookmark this link and you should be good to go...
http://www.facebook.com/login.php
If that does not work. Go on your PC and login. Use the sub-link that is placed before facebook.com and replace the www above with it.

U can also clear ur history and temporary internet files. And make sure u get the security warning. Once u get it, ur good to go. At first i thought it was Gmail but it seems its a IE thing.
edit: It is a gmail thing. At least for me. Scroll to bottom and click "view in HTML" and u'll get security warning.
loggin into facebook is the easy part, but can you post on walls? I've had no luck doing that
The mobile version of the site is far better.
http://m.facebook.com
Mobile Facebook is great. I just got on it today because they recently did a redesign which is making it a pain to view in Pocket IE.
I also have problems logging into m.facebook.com but I usually get to the login screen and then use the link at the bottom of the page to do a standard login. The only thing that annoys me is that if I use my P990i instead I stay permanantly logged in on it, whereas my MDA Mail (UK Spec) keeps on logging me out grrr.
If you're having trouble getting the login at m.facebook.com to work, try this link instead:
http://m.facebook.com/login.php?http&next=http://m.facebook.com/home.php
Bookmark that, and you'll be good to go. It basically forces you to the HTML login page instead of the WAP login, but keeps you on the mobile interface to save data.
Here is my problem: the way my school does authentication is that, when I run my browser on the laptop, the 1st thing I see is the login page. After I correctly entered user ID and password, a pop up window indicates that I've been authenticated. I need to keep that pop up window in order to state connected. If I kill the window, I would no longer be authenticated. So, I tried using IE and Skyfire, I suspect that I cannot get authenticated because the browsers don't support pop up. Any suggestions? Thanks very much!

you would probably have to authenticate with ie then leave it as a running task...open another browser and use it to navigate/surf with. i have had to do that at some hotspots
i use opera mobile and it has multiple windows, i have used sites that work with popups which go to the next window. hope that helps
Opera Mobile works like a charm. Good program.
Thanks!

Hey guys, before I begin I want to say yes I did a search on XDA and searched around Google for about an hour and couldnt find an answer.
Im wondering if it is possible through your phone to check recent activity or if its possible to get a notice if someone is trying or has accessed your Gmail account from another computer. yes I know if you log into gmail through a browser you can scroll down and click recent activity and see all the ip address that have accessed your account. I spend about 90% of my time on my phone and rarely use a computer so having a notification on my phone would be very useful.
Thanks guys

Nope. Your only choice is a browser. However, if you use 2-step authentication and a good password, you should be safe.

Could you logon via the phone's browser to check recent activity like you can from a desktop's browser? I haven't heard of a capability of that nature with the exception of accounts via a corporate server. That is not to say that is does not exist. I'm just unaware of it.

How do you enable a 2 step authentication for Gmail?

https://www.google.com/accounts/SmsAuthConfig
Go there and go through the setup. Note the following:
1) When they say "lose your phone/these codes and you won't be able to access your account", THEY MEAN IT. If you lose Google Authenticator/the phone number you SMS to, your backup phone number, AND the codes they give you, you are BONED.
2) Any program or device that logs in directly to your account (Chrome Sync, Cloud Print, your phone, Trillian, PBXes, etc.) will need an application-specific password. There's instructions on how to do this, but you will not be able to retrieve said password once you have generated it and clicked the "hide password" button.
3) You will have to enter the generated code on your phone at each new browser you try to log in to your account from, both the first time, and every 30 days.
Try this one: SignMeOut
as featured on Lifehacker "Sign Me Out Helps You Track Unauthorized Access to Your Gmail and Facebook Accounts" and Comments.
But please consider you are giving your gmail credentials out to another 3rd party app / organisation. You possibly don't improve your Gmail security but lose some of it.
Please decide yourself.
edit: Meh... first post, so I'm not allowed to give you direct links...
So at work, to connect to WiFi, I have to log in to the network to accept terms and conditions. For whatever reason I can't login properly on my note3. When I login its supposed to take me to a logout page to keep tabbed for when I leave. The issue is, on my note3, it brings me to a similar page but very different at the same time (kinda hard to explain). The page my note goes to after signing in with my userid and password, says that I've signed in successfully and to continue surfing. However, when I attempt to go to another webpage, it redirects me to the login page. I've deselected auto switching, tried to forget the network and sign back in to no avail. I do not have this issue with my kindle and others around me with different android or idevices do not have this issue. Any ideas?
Please can someone help, up until I had an update on my htc m8 I was able to log into my work wifi, I would be taken to a page and had to click "accept" and I was on! this has suddenly Stopped working and it seems like the phone won't take me to the page where I need to click "accept" it just gives me a blank page and asks me to enter my usename and password which I don't have as we all log in as "guest" plus there is nowhere to enter this info even if I had it! I tried the wifi fix and it says I'm connected yet I can't surf the net, chekc emails or anything so it's clearly not working. Others in my office have no problem so I am baffled. I've restored the phone, changed browsers and even a factory re set but to no avail. Any suggestions please? Thanks
