[Q] Disable MMS on Bell GS3 - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I am administering a small fleet of GS3s for my company. Accounting has decided that they will not pay for MMS messages and that they should be blocked. Bell has said that they can block MMS and SMS per user, but not MMS only.
The best way I know to block them on the device is to mangle the MMS settings in the APN but Bell has locked the APN. I cannot edit theirs and if I create a new APN, it gets deleted on reboot. We are using Blackberry Mobile Fusion as MDM and it has no option for MMS. If it was just my phone, I'd root it and install a custom ROM, but I can't very well do that for the CTO.
Does anyone know of a setting or app that I can use to do this?

There are tons of blockers on the play store, the few I just checked all were password protected. Most are paid but some are free. I didn't see just an MMS blocker most had call block, SMS block and MMS block, some needed root and some never said. Do a search there for MMS block and you may be able to find what you need. Sorry can't be more help.

not receiving mms via T-Mobile

Hi all,
Been loving the Desire so far but this evening I got an mms from a friend, presumably showing me his own new Desire, and while the messaging app shows an unread message waiting it doesn't seem to want to download it.
The picture messaging settings seem accurate in the network settings so I'm at a loss as to what's up. This is all via T-Mobile, as per the subject, and everything configured itself when I put the sim in.
Any ideas?
I'm on t-mobile and receive and send mms mostly okay but there have been occasions where my mms wouldn't send at all. tried a different picture and it worked. I've had problems with mms and t-mobile on my iPhone before I got my Desire so I think it's a problem with t-mobile not the Desire?

You need to enable mms for you account, they are not included in the contract and thus you need to activate them online or by contacting them if it doesn't activate when you receive or send an mms.
All good suggestions, thanks.
I checked my account online and it's set to allow picture messages. I also just sent a picture to a friend, which arrived fine. I did notice that it disconnected from the net both before and after sending, so I'm thinking it's using different settings to send them.
Under Settings/Wireless & Networks/Mobile Networks/Access Point Names it does actually show two connections. One called T-Mobile Internet and one called Picture Message.
They're both very similar, except the T-Mobile Internet has no username/password set and no MMS server details. Also the APN type is set to "default" and "mms" respectively. Wondering if I should try combining the two...
Fake Edit: I just asked the same friend to send me a message back and this time it worked. Guess I just need to keep trying every once in a while to see if it happens again.
T-Mobile accounts generally are enabled for MMS to begin with, but to finalise the settings and actually activate it, you have to SEND an MMS. This activates the service.
Once you have done that, you can then normally receive.
if you hadn't sent an MMS before this, that is probably why.
Yeah that could be it, too; although I'm sure I'd sent MMS messages on my Touch HD before (same SIM). Ah well, it seems to be working for now at least! Thanks again all.
If you're using Handcent for sms / mms, that might also cause your issues...

htc desire a8183 mms and sms issues

hey guys
I am having issues sending mms on att. its not going through at all and its telling me "message format corrupt" but its just a regular jpeg file. does anyone have the correct att mms settings? I thought it automatically configured it once I put in my sim card.
I am also having issues with sms. i would say about 50% of the time it wont go through on the first try and it will have to retry again. its really annoying and I have full reception.
any help would be appreciated.
edit: i forgot to add, I can rececive mms but not send.
Did you add your providers APN info, you have the A8381 World phone,
so you have to manual add AT&T APN and if that does not work call att and ask for there apn info you will need the following
Internet
WAP
MMS
look at these Youtube Video

the apn were already set. It set them up automatically after I put in the sim card.
the internet and receiving mms works but not sending.
also im getting annoyed at the sms sending failure, it keeps on having to retry to send.
do you have a MMS setup in your Desire, that is weird my HTC i had to add the APN
yeah it set up the att apn for internet and mms called "media net".
a lot of phones have automatic set up of att, its a pretty big and popular network.

MMS

My friend has a sprint galaxy s3 flashed to the ntelos/frawg network and he uses go sms pro to send and receive mms because he can set the apns in it. He wants to know is there any way for him to send and receive mms from the stock messaging app. He has his msl number and hes able to get in the ##3282# and edit his settings. Is there any way for him to send mms and receive it from the stock messaging app without having to use go sms.I heard that if a phone is flashed it cant send mms from stock it has to use a third party app but i know there could be a way to do it from the ##data# settings or changing the mmsc url.

ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[Q] Yeah... No Calling or Sending of Text Messages.

T-Mobile
Galaxy s4
I was running a custom rom for a bit and just popped onto the pc and flashed a new rom, after that it is no longer letting me send text messages or call anyone...
I have Data and Mobile Networking, I can receive texts and I can browse the web and download apps.
I can't even see my APN settings without Tweaker and when I tried to set the APN settings it still didn't work. It is the same settings already there too.
can anyone help me fix this... I'd be really glad I can't stand this.
What ROM? And have you updated your baseband?

[Q] Changing APN for MMS on Verizon

My text messaging started acting weird lately; all of a sudden I was getting late messages, or multiples of one message. And then I wasn't getting any texts at all. This was while I was on Definitive rom, and had not changed any settings or my messaging app (chomp) for a good month beforehand. So I decided to flash FireKat for the DE, and it seems to have worked, but I wanted to set the settings for MMS as suggested in chomp, and I find that the Access Point for Verizon is un-editable. I tried editing the build.prop as suggested for the Note 2--obviously, it didn't work, I lost my Access Points entirely, and my network went to hell--and after a reflash, I'm back to where I started. Does anyone have any idea how to edit access points on the DE?
