Hello. I've disassembled my Xperia S, and now it turns on, screen is working, just has no backlight. I've checked carefully everything, no thorn flex cables. Please anyone help. Do you know at least which is the cable for the backlight? Thanks:good:

Recently, I disassembled my Sony Ericsson Xperia Play R800at. I was replacing the housing and digitizer. All went smoothly until I missed an important step. There was a black tab that holds down the flex cable that connects to the digitizer. I forgot that step and my flex cable ripped.I have ordered another as a replacement. I understand that this will cause the digitizer to not work, but I have more issues, and I want to know if they are due to the missing cable.(the ripped flex cable.) I assembled the phone and the screen functions normally. As to be expected, I can't interact with the screen. However, Now my search button and settings buttons aren't functioning. My home and back buttons are working although. Also, My phone will not charge anymore. Is this due to the missing flex cable? I hope I didn't accidentally screw anything up. I was really careful, so I don't know why they won't function. I really hope that these issues are due to the missing cable. :silly:
Sorry, I am not allowed to post links. It has the camera and earpiece on it and is attached to the slider. :"(
How. Could u miss a step itsm really easy to take apart and put together its the flex cable garunteed

Tutorials
Most of the tutorials seem to be only of disassembly. Little to none are of reassembly. I wrote down a list and reversed the order, but as it got closer to assembly, I started to assemble it myself. Big mistake. I assumed the black tab was only there to hide the chips.
Charge Recognition
It actually can charge, but only when the phone is powered of. This must be due to the missing components. Maybe because some parts of the phone aren't connected, the phone will not recognize the charger when powered on. What a relief...
Just watch dissassembly in reverse

I got the replacement part. I even replaced the slider. I transferred the button cable to the new slider along with the main flex cable and the camera/earpiece flex cable. I am confused. I am inserting the flex cable into the digitizer slot, but it isn't working. I assumed there was a lock mechanism of some sort, but still no luck. I am not sure why it isn't going all the way in. Reversing the steps just isn't working. Placing the flex cable in is way harder than taking it out. Is there a certain way to place this cable in. What I am in need of is a picture of how a functioning digitizer's attachments look. Are you supposed to be able to see the golden tip of the flex cable?(Again, I am speaking of the flex cable with the black tab covering it. It is very small.)
:crying:
Lock.
There were locks for just aboul all the ZIF Connectors. Sony Ericsson's manual is the best!:good:
I tried again using the locks on the slots but it still wont work. Even with the manual, no luck... Now, it is charging normally, even while on. This indicates that something has changed. I wonder why the digitizer isn't working though. Maybe I should see what happens If I revert back to my old digitizer...
Hey guys, I am having problem with my One X.. I bought new replaceable LCD screen and digitizer yesterday. I ve assembled it without any problems, even with connected LCD/digitizer and everything worked fine... But When I tried to screw the motherbord to the house frame, suddenly the brightness of LCD starts "blinking" (lowering and raising).. I think that this issue can cause lcd flex cable...
Can anybody tell me the voltage of this cable/connector or does anybody have any solution for this?
Thanks in advance
Edit: Found some article that says, it could be defective LCD Screen FPC Connector.. Can anybody agree?
Hi everyone!
I opened my xperia s, and I accidentally cut the cable which is connected to the led bar board, and now my screen is not turning on, and the vibration doesn't work and the led bar also doesn't work.
What should I do?
Thank in advance!
Sorry for my English
It's a hardware (physical) problem.
I assume you soldered the cable or tied it back?
In any case, the problem is not software, you should go to a repair shop or the phone company if you have warranty
Hi
Some time ago i had custom rom on my Xperia Play, but flex cable from screen died and i replaced it.
After that, my phone freezed on Lupud kernel logo, vibrate and nothing more. No recovery etc.
Today i flashed it through flashtool to stock rom, and it started, logo "sony ericsson" pop up and after few minutes it dissapeared.
Now if i push power button i se some "snow, mozaic" on screen.
I don't really know what do next. I thought it's kernel compatibility problem, but know it look like damaged flex cable.
But kernel logo looks perfectly, only on rom something is broken.
I will appreciate any help.
IMHO, i think it's flex cable again.
I had also had similar problem.
1st and 2nd flex replacement went without problem
3rd was just black screen. It did vibrate, but nothing was on screen.
4th was half working (it show/stay on lupus logo and 1 in 10 tries it boot into rom but without touchscreen working)
5th was working on first try
It is hit&miss logic. Maybe it's problem with crappy quality, maybe it is problem with zif connectors on slider flex cable.
Try your flex cable again, but this time, first insert flex cable that goes from front camera/proximity sensor into zif connector of slider flex cable, and see how much actually is "good connection". Then press slider flex cable into possition and compare to your previous observation. If it's even 1/2 of mm away, it could be bad connection (flex from camera is not inserted fully in zif connector). Best position to be sure is that front camera flex have a very small "belly" (curved shape).
It looks like your 4th cable. I will try mounting it few times and order new one.
Now i realized, that "snow/mozaic" shows after screen shut down to save energy.
P.S.
For those from the future which will looking for solution for problem similar to mine.
Yes, it worked. Flex cable can work and don't in the same time.
Hi
Xperia play not turning on.
Don't know if it's the screen or motherboard.
How do I determine the cause.
Hi
Just saw there is a tear in the flex cable!
Could this be the problem?
Anyway of protecting this cable from ripping when sliding the phone?
Thanks
