Searching for GPS Notification Icon - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

After I turn on GPS and launch an application that uses it (e.g., Maps), I get a notification that the phone is "Searching for GPS." At first this icon is a circle that kind of looks like cross-hairs without the center filled in. After a little while (varies), the center of the circle starts blinking and it is still "Searching for GPS." When GPS lock is achieved, the circle in the center stops blinking.
What is the difference between the two "Searching" icons? The one with the blinking solid circle and the one without. There have been times when I cant get GPS lock and it never proceeds to the blinking stage.
thanks,

I'm in the same boat, it's frustrating.

i managed to install this deodexed rom and it managed to solve the issue...full data, cache and dalvik wipe recommended

LED status light constantly flashing green

I have an issue with my LED status light. Basicly my phone crashed and the LCD would not turn on when an alarm went off on my phone in the morning. I had to perform a softreset on the device but now the status LED constantly flashes green as if there is a new notification but there isn't. Is there anyway I can fix this without having to do a hard reset?
have you tried another soft reset to see if it goes away?
Yes I have Lots
I'm having the same problem at the moment too. For about four days now, the green status light will not stop flashing and I don't have any emails, texts etc. Like Bladesharp, I really don't want to do a hard reset. Thanks for your help

[Q] Location services keep re-enabling

As of yesterday, I have been experiencing an issue where the GPS on my phone will suddenly turn itself on. Where the problem started persisting was when I was without signal in a basement. I checked my phone and it kept showing the GPS icon on the notification bar. To make sure that i'm not going insane, I left my screen on with the screen opened on the location services, and the button would just automatically switch to the ON position.
Now, I have full signal, performed a soft reset, and still sometimes when I get a call or a text the GPS icon will appear. I know for a fact, that I have been turning it off and have watched it turn itself back on with no command. Any ideas?

Unresponsive Notification bar

Anyone getting their notification bar being non responsive after rebooting or booting up the phone? Even sometimes after a reboot trying to fix it?
Happened to me maybe 3 times this week, even when rotating my phone the notification wont drop down.

[Q] Notification LED not clearing

Anybody else seeing this issue?
Noticed it mostly with whatsapp, after receiving a message and opening the app to automatically clear the notification status, the Notification LED would still blink when screen is off.
I think I have to open the notification drop down (even though it's empty) to clear the LED flashing.
Try Light Flow. Been using it without any issues for a while now.
Is there another way of fixing the notification LED except of installing the Light Flow app? I dislike the thought auf having to install additional software for such a very basic task.
I had a huge thread on it. There are ways to clear it. Easiest is turn off the screen by double tapping the status bar. It also eventually goes away.

NFC icon on Notification bar is blinking and I can't turn it off

I recently did a factory reset to my M8 because it was acting up. After the factory reset, the NFC icon on my notification bar came on. It's not on as a solid icon; it blinks, and I can't turn it off in settings because it's grayed out. I tried forcing it off through "apps" in settings and even though I did turn it off through there the N keeps on flashing. As a final resort I rooted my phone hoping to get rid of the blinking "N". I rooted and the blinking "N" did not go away. I installed viper one rom and the "N" did not go away. The N blinks for several hours to a day or two after I restart the phone or if I have been on airplane mode and turn back on my cellular plan. When the N blinks my battery goes down fast.
Has anyone had come across this issue before? IS there something I can do? Based on what I've done I feel that this is a phone issue, not a rom issue... maybe hardware?
Just to clarify, before the factory reset I had never used the NFC function and had never had the icon on my notification bar. I'm on Marshmallow and on a Canadian network.
Same problem here
My phone is doing the same thing, it started right after a FDR. Now battery drains fast, random crashes and overheating as well.
same here, i m on indian network.
