OTA Rootkeeper is a much better option for rooting.

[Q]Got OTA and I'm rooted?

How can I be getting the update. If. I'm on juggernaut? Is this possible? It would probably brick my phone?

its.lilley to.un root you
Max. (From my Galaxy 2)

I got the same msg. I'm on beast mod. I was getting it through device management so I used TB to uninstall it as I'm thinking it's going to break my root....

Is this your after update? You still have the old baseband Joser.

I'm assuming this is the update for 2.3.6 and wifi calling?
I got the same OTA notification, running Juggernaut 3.7
Did you guys install the update? Or just get a notification?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
I don't mind updating via OTA (I'm on BeastMod now), but what I don't want to do its lose root and have to restore all the data manually.

It was a notification for the update with an option to install or postpone; I'm going to postpone mine as long as I can....not sure what that update will do being that I'm rooted and on Juggernaut.
I'm sure one of the dev teams will take the OTA and roll it into a ROM so we can get the update and keep everything that we're used to.
I'm still on stock and yet to get update. sucks!
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
I got the update notification too and I'm also running Juggernaut 3.7.
I'm using the EagleBlood ROM and I received the update notification today. I'm postponing it as long as I can, but is there a way to just reject the update? It's annoying seeing the icon in my notification bar.
Can any of you just pull the link please? It would be a great help to many people. Everyone keeps posting about it and that is not helping anyone.

The update is already rooted and posted. Along with the new basebands.

Yes but not all of us want to use Odin. I am very much aware of its presence in the development section. However, i can assure you that i am not alone in wanting the link/zip.

Link for what? I'm not following you. Are you wanting the actual ota zip? If so, someone who has been notified of the update can use root explorer and go to /data/cache and grab the zip.

I guess someone else tried running this update and it just took them to CMW and didn't give them the update. I just froze "device manager" from TB so i don't have those annoying update arrows. I will wait for the new juggernaut when they update it. I'm in no rush

Tried voodoo ota rootkeeper...

And everything is checked except for filesystem supports root protection... using cm 7.2, am I missing something? I do not notice anything else wrong...

Cm can't receive otas so y use ota rootkeeper? U have to be on a stock rom with no FOTAKill.apk for ota's to be pushed
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I am trying to use it to hide root from flixster . It detects root and will not allow me to stream movies that I have from ultraviolet.

And on top of that Voodoo apps are for Samsung Galaxy Devices

People are using this app on other devices as well. I originally found this while looking around for a temp unroot so I can view the Flixster movies. Here is a link to original thread for the app:

system update on rooted s2 will I lose root?

I have a rooted s2 which I just rooted the other day, but now I'm getting an alert For an update. I don't wanna lose root.
is there anyway to block it?
or update it and not lose root?
thanks in advance

Yes. And if you are on a custom rom it may just bootloop. You may be able to find an ota killer on here.

Quick question since you said you just rooted the other day; what's your current build?

There's also this, don't know if you have seen; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774282
edit: It has been found not to be build specific. Meaning it was put out when FF18 came but it has been used after and stopped FH13 as well)
And then this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31192830&postcount=29
But if you want to update and stay stock (you'll have to odin/mobile odin a custom recovery) check out this handy thread by Rwilco: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1903252
One easy thing to do would also be to just get a no-data rooted one-click. that way you keep root and you also get a new build.

Sprint OTA Update

I just rooted the Spring LG Optimus G and would like to know if it is possible to stop the Sprint OTA messages.
You can use the same root method again after applying the ota. I did, worked fine.

Is there any way to root galaxy s 3 for t mobile running 4.1.1 without a computer?

Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
As of right now, the only way to get root is with the use of the computer as of yet.
Being that seems to work pretty well I doubt there will be development to a root method without a computer.
Hmm, thanks for your feedback

Doubt it. I think you still need pc
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Mobile odin requires root. So it can't be used to gain root.
Chainfire release a rooting method. I haven't tried it but have heard it works well. You still need Odin on a pc for any root procedure that I'm aware of.

Rooting is yes, only available via computer.
