I am a HTC person usually, but have fallen in love with the note 2. How hard wil it be to mod the note 2 on Verizon wireless? I just want to be ave to use WiFi tether, and bloat at this point, but I am worried that it will be locked up tight. I know it is not out yet, just a feeler to find out thanks....

I'm wondering if I can like flash the factory ROM/radio/bootloader for the Sprint Galaxy Nexus onto the Verizon one and basically turn it into a Sprint phone?
I know they're really the same device so I think it could be done with the Nexus Toolkit easily, but before I try I want to know if it really can be done, I know any carriers Sim Card works so why not this too?
Thanks to any that provide info

Not a chance.
verizon cdma radio will work fine on sprint, no need to try to flash a sprint one.
lte obviously will not work at all no matter what you try.
of course getting sprint to recognize the phone is another matter and more trouble then its worth considering the same phone is available on sprint with working lte.

They are not the same device. They are sufficiently different hardware that you wouldn't be able to activate even if you found a Sprint CSR that would be willing to lose their job by adding the MEID to their database
I have an iPhone 5 and I'm on AT&T and have it up for trade.
Someone has a tmobile note 2 and wants to trade
He said he can get them both unlocked. And the tmobile will work fine
On AT&T.
My questions are will it work and if I want to flash custom Roms will this mess up the unlocking?
I have searched all over and can't tell some people say everything but LTE works and some say not.
It's confusing. I need the phone to work on AT&T and not have to worry about messing up the unlock.
It should still be unlocked but you should get the code just in case.

Once it's unlocked, it's unlocked.
Just make sure that note is fully paid for or you may end up with blacklisted phone

I would just say, not sure specifics but who in the right frame of mind would trade away a GNII for an I phone 5... just sounds 2 good to be true, especially with all the horror stories out there...

Unlocked tmo note 2 with att sim card is not worth it. You will not get att lte service or gps. My cousin had a tmo GNote2 with att sim and it drove him crazy note having lte and gps. No fix around it, find urself an att GNote2. Best of luck

What would stop the GPS working?
I have a really quick and easy question. Im planning to buy an at&t gs3 phone from craiglist but im planning to use it on a different carrier, gosmart, what are the things I have to look for? Im sorry this sounds very elemental but I have always used sprint and I really dont know much about sim card.
Thank you very much for your time!

At&t phones operate on gsm. Make sure gosmart is a gsm carrier. Also, depending on the carrier, you may not see LTE speeds
Well i assume you would have to unlock it which is now illegal without carrier permission so you would have to call at&t and have them unlock if it doesn't already come unlocked
Gosmart uses a sim card( tmobile) but im not worried about lte speeds. What im worried is at&t claiming back their phone. Now this guya in craiglist says he bought the gs3 and then his job gave him the iphone, so he has no use for it. Will at&t will automatically unlock it when he got the iphone?

I have a at&t note 2, I currently had my last phone stolen(iphone 5) so decided I would buy my sisters phone. Not being able to go get the phone(I'm in the army) I just bought it from sister. ( not knowing the phone was at&t) so now am I stuck? I've done my reading and understand that you can flash it for t-mobile data etc, so if anyone could help. I would love. Plus my phone is unlocked. So anyhelp would be great. Thanks guy

Verizon uses different technology, and even if it WAS compatible, Verizon will only activate verizon branded phones. There's literally 0% chance of getting this to work, sorry.

The above post is correct. GSM = att vs CDMA = Verizon
But you're still in luck! You can sell it for a Verizon model, or trade it for a Verizon brand!! There's plenty of sites out there that'll do that. And it's a plus that it's unlocked also. Makes it easier for anyone to use on any gsm network!!
Try here: http://swappa.com/
Good luck to ya bruh...

I want to switch my carrier from verizon to TMO and im wondering if anyone here has done it or knows if the vzw n2 will work on TMO? If I set the network to GSM in settings and set the apns to t mobile will everything work ok or is my phone locked somehow by vzw? Thanks

Im reading up on this a bit and I have a feeling that my phone is locked as I am still under contract for my n2. If so would I be able to unlock it with something like in the pic below? Or better yet would I need to unlock it if it is locked to use it on TMO?

This video is a bit annoying but it shows someone doing exactly what I want to do. Now would my phone need to be unlocked to do this as it seems like it will work...

Here you go buddy. This is how you can get your note 2 work and it's free and easy. Couple things though you will only get edge data unless in a reframed area (don't really know how far that's progressed in the last 6 months) also tmo coverage sucks inside buildings so you'll want wifi calling if you spend a lot of time in brick buildings. You can try flashing a tmo ROM (without kernel and modem) to get it, but I don't think that works

Thank you very much. I don't ever use my pc to view xda since I got my n2. The search feature on tapatalk is horrific. I really appreciate it and wish I could thank you 100 times. Have a nice day.
