[Q] Changing vold.fstab to change memory - entry missing? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
I'm now to the SGN2 forum and my first question is, how to modify the vold.fstab file to change internal memory with sdcard.
I know what to do, because on my previous phone, the Note One, I made this everytime I flashed a new ROM. Because 10GB are too low for internal memory. I changed them because I have a 32GB sdcard.
That was never a problem but this time there is one.
In the vold.fstab file is an entry for the external sdcard. And also for some USB OTG devices, but there is no entry for the internal memory?
Anyone knows how to solve that?
Thanks in advance!

SD reading problem after removing Internal/External memory swap

Hi guys, this is my first post here. Recently I have flashed Bionic Cow 2 Rom by CWG (awesome ROM) but I didn't want the Internal / External SD swap function. So what I did was replace the modded vold.fstab file in /system/etc with the original (stock) vold.fstab file downloaded from the internet and rebooted my phone. Everything went fine, the sd-card was unswapped and the storage readings were normal again. But there was just this one problem that is irritating me. I downloaded Antutu Benchmark and did a test and it couldn't read perform SD card write/read tests. It somehow just skips it and gave me 0 points in the end. I have attached a screenshot of the problem below.
Any help will be appreciated, thanks!

[q] re-partitioning the glide

i was wondering, when we can get ASOP/AKOP or CM9/10 we can re-partition the glide to have only system partition and the extranal sd card can act as the internal one. we all know that the 8GB is not enough, especially with 2gb system and 6gb sd card - i have 2gb in system and 4gb in sd card - but if we can combine it to full partition then it will be more then enough as a basic install space - cos allot of apps can be moved to sd card and leave little room on the system partition.
It's already possible to change the mount points so that your physical sd card is mounted as /sdcard, and the internal storage takes its place at /sdcard/external_sd. It's a quick vold.fstab edit. You can see my post about it here, with a pre-modified file and a backup of the original.
You'll need root and busybox (or some form of file explorer with root permissions) to copy the file over, but it's pretty straightforward. As for repartitioning the internal storage to be used for /data, I've got no clue how to do that, but this is a reasonable enough workaround.
i know about that workaround but still there some side effects to it, like the usb mounting in the PC.
still i think its doable if creating aosp from source with cross with our ics source from samsung..
maybe a more knowledgeable dev can shed some light on the subject.
Changing the actual partitioning isn't something that's commonly done, as it can wreck compatibility with roms (including official updates) that expect things a certain way. The only issue in ICS with the vold.fstab edit is the internal memory isn't mounted on the phone at boot, you have to manually mount it any time you reboot. MTP file transfers work just fine (with your physical sdcard being labeled Phone and the internal labeled Card) as does the legacy USB Mass Storage mode.
If you really want to mess with it, look into partition editing using parted. This can go very very wrong, and may not work at all, so proceed with caution.
i see thanks for the info

[Q] BIG sdcard0 problem

Hi. My problem is based on the fact that I can not copy the built-in memory. Photos and generally everything can not be saved. Even the system folders can not create. Memory is seen by the computer but it is completely empty and you can not copy anything to it. I wanted to install the new ROM, but unfortunately I can not put a zip in memory -.-
probably best to work with a memory card but I lost it
Sorry for my bad english
DETELE THIS PLEASE

ProBAM 4 swap internal and external sd

Hi,
I'm trying to swap the internal and external sd-card in probam4 but changing the vsold-file as well another tool from play-store failed (got the internal Memory as internal and external).
Anyone tried this already with success? If yes - how to do it?
Thanks,

Also this works best with redpil kernal

Doesn't work as expected
Hi,
thanks for the hint. I tried to flash the kernel as well as the mod.
Now the internal as well as the external card is pointing to the external sd card. With other tools I had a similar effect but there both where pointing to the internal card.
Any idea how I can solve this?
Thanks!
Stefan
Mine is working fine.Follow op step by step
Script for ProBAM 4
Hi,
I had to change the generated script a bit and now it works. If someone else has the same trouble please replace the file in /etc/init.d with the attached one (after unpacking)..
As ever - do it at your own risk and create a backup before replacing the file.
Best Regards,
Stefan

How to swap internal and external memory on Samsung J100H

Hi guys, i tried some tutorial founded around the forums, but still not able to swap the internal memory of my device (Samsung Galaxy J100H already rooted) with the external sd memory card that has a second partition in vfat32.
I tried with "external 2 internal sd" app, but nothing happens.
I tried to look after the Vold.fstab in system/etc/ but this file doesn't exist on my model, probably mounting point etc. are located differently so i don't know how to find e modify the script.
Someone could help with this? Thank you for now. (hope this is the right section to post)
