I have upgraded to jandycane 1.8.0
I have found that Gmail, now, will not open. Any one else have this issue? As far as bugs, this is the only one I have encountered thus far.
Did you reinstall gapps as well?

Did u wipe cache and dalvik?
If so try factory reset...if that doesn't work try wiping /system then reflash ROM and gapps

Have you tried simply uninstallig it and then just downloading it off of the place store? It sounds too obvious, but you never know lol

I believe you do flash it just like any other rom, make sure to do a nandroid. I haven't done it yet though so wait for someone more experienced to reply. Gapps is google apps, CM is not allowed to package google apps with their rom.
Yay!!!!!!!!!
Nandroid, wipe SYSTEM, Factory reset, cache, dalvik cache and flash

Hi everyone,
So I just recently updated my CM10 to CM10.1 on my S3 (d2att; SGH-I747M), and came across a weird bug.
I don't know if this is a really bizarre feature, or just a bug, but in the Play store, I can ONLY see apps/games! Not books, not music, not magazines, not movies, nor TV. Before this update, I had all of the above.
Also, CM10.1 came with Superuser, and after doing several factory(data)/cache/dalvik cache resets, the Superuser app seems to still crash when I try to allow an app permissions by clicking "Allow" in the "Allow/Deny" screen/popup when an app needs Superuser perms. A temp. workaround is to use CF-AutoRoot by Chainfire to put SuperSU and just disable superuser.
Any way to fix this and does anyone else have one of these, or both of these 'bugs'?
Thanks!
Michael
EDIT: Fixed Superuser bug by updating to latest nightly!
I have not yet seen anyone else report this bug. I am running the 12/23 cm10.1 as we speak and have no issue with the play store or super user. I would recommend to wipe cache, dalvik, and factory reset, then reflash 10.1 and the latest 4.2.1 gapps.
Unfortunately you will lose your data doing this. I flashed a clean update. If you flashed a dirty update, it can cause problems.
Good luck!

Thanks for your reply!
Forgot to mention in OP post, I did do all that a couple times. I do have latest Gapps.
Hey all, so I flashed the chemistry ROM and Goodness 8.0.3, which both have multi window. After I try to power on my phone after a full shut down, neither ROM seems to boot without me going into recovery and clearing both cache. Anyone else experience this or have a workaround?

Were they clean flashes?

Yes, both done after a full wipe (minus internal SD card).

I just had the same issue I installed chemistry on my phone worked with no problems but on my moms phone i went into a bootloop after rebooting. I had to go into recovery do a factory reset wipe cache and dalvik cache and reflash the Rom all seems to be working now. Oh it was chemistry v5 btw.
Edit
Did you retore any system data with TB then hit fix permissions thats what was causing the problem for me.

I did install non-system apps thru TB and installed latest Ktoonz kernel. Just not sure why either would result in a boot loop now.

Try flashing a different kernel, and try fixing permissions through rom manager, then reboot wipe cache and dalvik, make it run the optimizing apps thing.

I'm sorry, but isn't this supposed to be in the Q&A forum?
Maybe clearing cache from recovery might help.
Try clearing app data on google play services, play store, gmail, and any other google app that isnt working. This should fix the problem.
If for some reason is doesnt then download the latest gapps for your device and install them through recovery

I have tried all of the ways clearing data in each app, clearing cache in recovery, clearing dalvik cache, flashing latest gapps package. nothing worked. the only solution is to factory reset the phone or reflashing the ROM...

And thn flash latest stock using odin..
In case you're rooted and running a custom rom.. Reflashing gapps might help..

Simply try removing Google account and again putting it in. Just a suggestion.

...for the risk oft being killed: I found no answer to this specific problem.
I flashed a new ROM, now the play store app just pops up a white screen then closes immediately. Some of the app icons don't open but say 'not installed'.
The KF2 ran 'cm-10.1-20130618-NIGHTLY-otter2' and was updated to ' cm-10.1-20130624-NIGHTLY-otter2'
Since this is the same type of ROM I only wiped cache and dalvik in TWRP then installed the new one.
My question is now, have I to install the gapps. package EVERY time when doing such an update? Gapps reinstall finally fixed it. but entering gmail PW and confirming all Google stuff is annoying.
thx
This is the wrong forum. This is for the kindle fire 1 not 2

Yes, up to my knowledge you need flash ROM and gapps, wipe dalvik and cache and reboot.
In fact I upgraded my cm on nexus 4 and kindle fire 1 just now.
Didn't have to enter Google credentials again.

whoops... if anyone could move this into the Kindle2 forum
@ deepasadish, maybe there's an issue with these nightly builds. Need to run a nightly because it runs more stable than the official RC version.
