I used to have Galaxy S, and never had problem with voice recognition on CM9 rom.
After changing to Galaxy S III, stock rom's S-Voice used to recognize my voice well.
However, changing to AOKP JB rom, the phone does not recognize what I speak.
I tried Google Now, and Voice Search apps, but it does not work any good.
It really really really sometimes recognize if I speak right in front of the mic and say outloud "AOKP"
then it understands only 'a' or sometimes it doesn't at all..
Anyone having similar problem like this? or is AOKP rom is not that stable with voice recognition?

First off, I'm not an active GNex forum viewer, I use a Galaxy S2S and rarely venture outside of it (except when I was on my HTC Bravo/Desire), I am asking to help a buddy.
I updated his GNex (Maguro) to Google's official Jelly Bean (4.1.1 Deodexed rooted) and he seems to have an issue with low in-call volume. It's rooted, CWM, and all that, using the GNex Tool. Everything works fine except the in-call volume, some calls would be fine, some would be extremely low. I was thinking it's a radio issue OR maybe just an issue with his provider (Mobilicity). He hadn't used the phone prior to upgrading to JB (was on stock ICS) so there was nothing to compare to.
Does anyone know what the problem could be or possible know a fix for it? I've done my homework and I found nothing that relates to this, mostly issues with the speaker.
Thanks in advance.
PS: Is there any modified radios (only) that would work with JB and Maguro?
Hello Everyone,
I am having microphone issues with CM10 based Roms. Whenever I try to use a voice recorder app, even though what I am trying to record is sufficiently loud, the phone hardly picks it up. The same thing occurs when I try to use voice search. It seems like the phone is using the microphone as if I were on a normal voice call and not on speakerphone. Is there some type of fix for this? I did some research and searching, but I haven't found anything.
Thanks

Hi everyone, please help me with an issue. When I drive, my phone is connected to my bluetooth receiver. Problem is, when that happens, Android voice recognition does not seem to work. I would occasionally like to be able to dictate a text message, however the microphone seems to be disabled when I tap the mic button on the keyboard. This happens no matter what bluetooth headset I have connected. However, S Voice seems to turn the mic on, for voice recognition. So, is there any way for me to fix this and use Android's native voice recognition? I am running a stock rooted ROM and stock kernel. I appreciate all your suggestions.
Hi guys,
In stock Jelly bean touchwiz rom, google plus hangout was working just fine, but when I switched to MIUI or Milestone CM10 Stable, Google plus hangout volume is really low. Others can hear me fine, but I can barely them (can hear very very quietly). And I searched online, and many people have this issue with other devices. But it wasn't evident for me when I was using touchwiz rom. And others who use the same phone are using it fine, as they can hear me, and also my nexus 7 borrowed by a family oversea can hear me fine too with the tablet.
I don't want to use the touchwiz rom though..so could someone possibly help me how to get back the full volume using google plus hangout? Of course I increased all possible volume settings to max.
Would really appreciate your help!!!:fingers-crossed:
I am having an issue where, when I start voice recognition (Google Search, Voice Typing, Utter!, AutoVoice, doesn't matter), the little startup "start speaking" chime plays incorrectly (it sounds like it gets cut in the middle) or doesn't play at all, as well as the end voice recognition sound playing incorrectly. The only time it plays correctly is the first time after the phone rebooted, then very rarely after that. When it first started happening, I was running a ROM that was a combination of PA and CM. However I switched to the RootBox ROM a few days ago in hopes that it would be corrected, but sadly not. This has lead me to believe that maybe either PA or CM have a bug with regards to this issue, but I'm not sure. I haven't been able to find anyone else with this issue either here or on Google, hopefully someone has heard of this before, though. Any help is greatly appreciated!
EDIT: Did a quick record of my phone, attached it to this post (XDA doesn't support uploading audio files so I had to zip it).
As you can see, the first start up chime was perfect, but the end voice recognition sound sounds cut off in the middle. You can also hear multiple times when all you hear is the end recognition sound - this is where the start up chime didn't play at all.
Ok I hate bumping threads but it's been a week and no-one has even said if they're experiencing anything similar on an AOSP ROM. I do have new information, though - I did a clean flash to a fresh CleanRom, and the voice search chime played as it is supposed to. Did a clean install back to RootBox, and the sound glitch returned. So, it's definitely not a problem with the phone itself.
