[Q] Anyone have any ideas on bluetooth auto-connect not working? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

On the rooted stock rom LI3 and LG8 my bluetooth won't auto reconnect. Any ideas? Btw it does work ob the JB leaks but hotspot doesn't so that's not an option at the moment.

reset permissions and see if it helps.

So if I soft reset (power cycle) it works for a couple of days. But then just stops reconnecting. Or if it does it only connects to media audio and not phone. Ive re-paired devices but no go

Are you talking about the earpiece or car bluetooth?

Both, the earpiece is giving me more problems than the car but after a couple of days without restarting they stop.

I guess at this point you need to repair the Bluetooth on both from scratch.

no bluetooth calls

Hi
i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Two months ago my bluetooth was working fine with my parrott system in the car, but all of a sudden i cannot make any calls with bluetooth though the system, i have tested the parrott system using my sgt and my wifes wildfire s with no problems.
I was suspecting my current rom was causing the problems, but after using 3 different roms, and change the radios / ril a number of times im still unable to make any bluetooth calls.
Im now suspecting i may have an hardware failure but i really dont want to return it to stock then back to htc, does anyone have any ideas what else i could try before i take the plunge?
many thanks.
Are you pairing the devices OK? Set the permissions etc for auto connect?
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
yep. ive done everything i can think of now, ive even cleared of the pair on both devices and still having no luck. the machine connects fine - it shows the signal strength and battery level fine on my car stereo head unit (parrott), and auto connects with no problems
i managed to make my sgt ring earlier but as soon as it was picked up it was silent then the call was dropped after about 10 seconds.
ive got to try some other bluetooth devices now, i tried it on my samsung home cinema and it streams music fine but the thing i want it for fails.
thanks

Mine has not done this with my Jawbone Icon, Motorola S10-HD stereo headphones or my Volkswagen Tiguan. Perhaps you might try another bluetooth device?
buletooth issue?
I had try different device and do the same thing, like my audi q7 and jarba headset and the garmin. Can you tell me what buletooth setting you are using?
Mine has intermittent issues as well, I'm using an older Motorola 710 BT earpiece. I'll only turn on BT on the phone when I know I'm going to use the earpiece, such as when driving or needing to be hands-free. I only activate the earpiece after enabling BT on the phone, but there are times when the earpiece does not connect.... the only fix is to reboot the phone. Is that similar to the issue you are having?
I'm having issues connecting to my car. If I reboot the phone and connect it will work. But once it's disconnected and I turn bluetooth off and then back on from the phone, it will not connect. Only way to fix it is to reboot. Don't know how to fix the issue. Never had a problem connecting my Sensation to my car's bluetooth.
My issue is similar in turning bluetooth on and off via the power widget and not being able to re-connect to my bluetooth earpiece after a few cycles. I'm wondering if it may be an issue with it being BT 2.0 versus BT 3.0 on the phone?
I thought it was my car but a lot ppl is having this issue too.
Sometimes it wont connect but it says connected so i have to go to BT settings and click where it says connected n overwrite the connection for it to work if not gotta restart the phone. :/
Tmo Galaxy S2
I'm having problems with a SoundFly FM Transmitter in my car.
At first it took forever to pair. And even when paired & connected it's really glitchy.
I'm using this mainly for GPS turn by turn over the car sound system. But because it is glitchy I can't use it because some of the directions get cut off.
I had a MyTouch 4G before. No problems whatsoever. I don't if it's a hardware or driver or BT device issue.
I'm willing to get a new FM Transmitter but not if it does the same thing.
It didn't work well on stock or rooted w/ Juggernaut rom
this is quite annoying. I wonder why this topic died so quickly, there have to be more people with this problem? Maybe has something to do with a bluetooth power saving sleep feature? Streaming music, pause music for a few minutes, incoming call gets connected but I get no sound through headset.

[Q] 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Bluetooth issue.

Hi,
I have completely stock, locked boot loader and no root , GN that received OTA last night.
Before the update, my Samsung HM7000, Bluetooth headset worked flawlessly. Since the update I get disconnected frequently, Google Now or any other voice command takes forever to pass initializing.
Anyone else experiencing the similar issue?
Thanks

I'm having issues -- it works fine for audio and phone, but when I try to do voice search while the headset is on, the phone will often freeze on "initializing."
Same issue as op

Well, not really the same issue. For me, the Bluetooth headset (Motorola s305) connects fine. It just seems to cause trouble with voice search.
I have the same issue- it fails to initialize and sometimes I will get a blue cloud that says "try again?". It is inconsistent- sometimes works flawlessly, sometimes the second time it will work, and sometimes cannot get it to initialize at all.
Noticed something similar myself.
I used to have a set up where when driving I had two bluetooth devices paired simultaneously.
1) Phone audio to car.
2) A2DP (media) audio to belkin BT to AUX adapter/receiver)
I've noticed since JB 4.1.1, my car will continuously disconnect from my phone whenever the phone is also paired with the Belkin adapter. Not too sure what to do (I have tried deleting and recreating the pairs just to be sure...)

Did you ever managed to fix your issue? I'm having the same problem with my bluetooth connection. It connects fine to my car but after few minutes it disconnects and I have to reconnect by hand then it disconnects again. Can't keep a bluetooth connection anymore. Was working perfectly in ICS and I think it was also working well in JRN84D (Android 4.1). I believe that it's the JRO03C (Android 4.1.1) update that ****ed everything up.

I have the same problem after upgrading my GSM GNex to 4.1.1
I have Kenwood KCA-BT200 hands-free adapter in the car and it was working fine with ICS.
After update it does not connect automatically and I have to switch BT off and back on on the phone for hands-free to connect. Once connected it will stay so for as long as the phone is active (screen is lit up). When screen goes off the phone disconnects after about one minute.
I have tried to recreate pairings, fiddle with BT visibility settings on the phone - nothing helps.
Hello everybody,
I've been having issues with bluetooth on the Nexus too.
My problem, though, is that the bluetooth won't start at all. It worked just fine before the update to 4.1.1 (from ICS 4.0.4).
Now, when I restart the phone and try to switch it on, it doesn't do anything. Right after, getting out and into the settings again, the sliding on/off switch seems to be grey as if it cannot be moved.
Any solutions or ideas??
Thank you.

Yep, it dies predictably after screen-off for me as well.

Try deleting the bluetooth folder named after the MAC address of your BT chipset in /data/misc/ (I think)?

Won't that mess everything up?
Yesterday it actually worked a few times (enabling/disabling). Today it doesn't anymore. I can't think of any reason why it should be doing this... Any other solution?
Thanks!

It regenerates when you restart phone/re-enable bluetooth. I had to do that reset when TB messed up BT pairings on a restore.
BT not pairing
Same issue as OP.
After update to JB from ICS my BT ear bud continually tries to pair. I have removed it and re-added it. I notice it now asks for the pairing code, which I enter but alas doesn't work. Also noticed that my calendar is empty now as well.
Same game over here. Disconnection right after pairing (with my car and Macbook Pro). Driving me nuts -.-
I have the same issue with my galaxy nexus running stock jelly bean 4.1.1. The bluetooth wont turn on and is greyed out in the menu. I just got my phone from this person, and i vaguely remember when i turned it on the first time that the bluetooth was on.(it was running 4.0.4), but im not sure. is this a hardware problem or a software problem? any one has a fix to this?
any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Everyone on this thread, please go star this bug. It appears to be this exact problem. Maybe someone in googleland will notice.
(please prefix with http and remove spaces since xda forums won't let me post a link until I post 10 times. Ugh)
code.google .com/p/ android/issues/ detail?id=35737
Now after updating to 4.1.2. when I don't allow my car access to my phonebook it works! Macbook still disconnection bug.
Not every person in this thread is talking about the same bug.
The bug with this is that bluetooth pairing causes issues with initializing dictation or google now and s-voice.
It is real and easily reproducible on the siii or the note ii, but that's all I've tried. Very annoying bug.

[Q] No sound from any device output, other than bluetooth-connected device

Having an issue with no sound emitting from any audio output on the phone, but sound will play through Bluetooth-connected device. No sound from front speaker (phone calls, dial pad), no sound from rear speaker (notifications, ringer, alarm, media) and no sound from wired earpiece/headphones. Seems like it's stuck in Bluetooth/headset mode, but turning off Bluetooth doesn't restore sound. Problem is intermittent, haven't determined pattern to the behavior.
Phone was rooted long ago but kept stock ROM. Flashed Paranoid Android 3.99 RC2 about a month ago, and problem seems to have started shortly thereafter, but not sure if related. Haven't tried to reflash.
Any suggestions? Tried searches, but didn't locate this specific issue.
SGH-T999 (US/T-Mobile Galaxy S3)
Is it a T999 or a T959? And flash back to stock.using Odin. If it still is a problem it's likely hardware related.

Sorry, phone is T999.....got rid of the T959 long ago, but must have been stuck in my head.
Will reflash this weekend and hope the sound issue is resolved. Thanks.

Did some more investigating last weekend before flashing ROM (never did the reflash).....seems that often, not always, if I turn off the car ('13 VW) while still connected to phone Bluetooth, the phone's sound quits working (all sound). Rebooting phone and turning off Bluetooth does not restore sound. The only solution I've found is to reconnect to car's Bluetooth, then turn Bluetooth off before shutting down car, and that only works about half the time, but sound is instantly restored. My estimation is that this wouldn't be hardware related, is that a fair assumption?
I also have a Tasker profile set up on phone to disable PIN lock when phone is connected to Bluetooth device (enables Sena Bluetooth headset used with motorcycle helmet to function properly), could that be causing the problem? Anyone else experience this issue?
Please try another Rom. Some of the Custom Roms may not be uptodate with CM Checkins. This issue was reported a bit back. There were CM Code Fixes that may not have been incorporated in that rom.
I am using Slimbean 2.0 (Android 4.3.1) and have seriously tested its bluetooth capabilities.
its also been reported thst msny car manufacturers did not bother to put any time or money into their BT capable systems. they just threw it together so they could add to feature lists.
Lots of peopke have problems with BT in the car, especially on cm roms. but those are notorious for BT issues to begin with.

Thanks for the replies. I flashed to Paranoid Android 3.99.1 RC1 but the problem still exists. I never had this issue with any of our vehicles, until switching to PA from stock ROM. If problem becomes unbearable, may go back to stock. Thanks again.
@yardsale
I should have mentioned in the previously. Please read this post of mine. Yes its a different Rom. However, here primarily the issue is that of hardware antenna of the T999 talking to the Car's antenna. Doc is 100 % correct, the manufacturers do use substandard Antenna. On that thread, someone else reported issues with two '13 VW for themselves and their brother's.

Bluetooth issues

Hello there, I am having a bit of an issue with my Bluetooth and I was wondering if anyone could help out a little bit..
As of a few hours ago, my bluetooth just dont work. Well I cant say that, it sort of works.. I can Raise the volume, End Calls, Accapt calls right from the headset itself, but for some reason the phone just refuses to dump the call audio and input to the bluetooth. Voice still comes out of the phone itself.
This is what I have
Sprint Galaxy Note 2 l900
Rooted with CM11 11/26 build
my Headset is a Blueparrot Xpressway
The Headset worked fine, flawless on the phone the entire time untill a few hours ago.. Any ideas ?

I would try restarting the phone. Also I find that sometimes if I turn on my headset before turning on BT on the phone the results can be flaky.
