In GSM arena review, they talk about a function of Spen, in Svoice, a handwriting option but as far as i see it donĀ“t made to the retail version???? or where i enable it??? thanks in advance
In mine it's present and working, I can enable handwriting mode by tapping the icon in the lower right corner

Don't have that feature on mine, any further explanation on how to activate this?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
You need to pull off the Spen to see the Handwriting icon... And it doesn't work in all languages.
I tried it, but nothing happens after writing my question to S voice, is there something to do to make it react after handwriting ?
You should not have to do nothing after writing.
For those that apparently don't have the icon to switch to handwriting; which Rom and which language you're using?
On LJ3 using US English it works.

i'm using english rom its omega's 4.0 and even i dont have this option... any body help mee too
I had the handwriting recognition appear and disappear several times so I spent some time experimenting.
After mucking with it I found that if I use UK English I get handwriting recognition but if I use US English it is voice only (the icon next to the spacebar changes to represent the correct toggle.)
So now I have both US and UK enabled and switch back and forth by holding the spacebar and swiping left or right.

Working fine on LJ1, here. Clicking the S Pwn button toggles handwriting on/off, too.

I am using US English with my LJ2, it shows nothing after I wrote my commands. Can anyone help?
Cannot use handwriting in polish, even if it should be supported as I saw in the pictures of my friends
I couldn't stand S Voice.
I just use Google Voice Command now.

Switch over to English (USA) to get handwriting icon :

I don't know if international version of (LJ2) doesn't support handwriting in S voice?

Anyone know of one? Each time use my spreadsheet app I have to change to the number keypad which is cumbersome. Thanks in advance.

Not sure that I understand the question, but I use Swift key x.
One of my favorite features is the fact that it toggles between the keyboard and a regular style number pad instead of the annoying top row numbers.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
Well, does it stay in either mode UNTIL you toggle back? As I mentioned it's annoying to have to always change to the number pad.

I tried it. Doesn't do it.

Try perfect keyboard. It is a GB like keyboard. You can set it up to use a split QWERTY in landscape mode with a 10 key in the middle. I use it on my tab and on my gs2. There is a pay version if you like it too.

I'll check it out. So far perfect keyboard with the split mode, a numeric pad in the middle of the qwerty is almost a solution but it's so small there in the middle it doesn't really work out.

Pre-installed Swype works like that. If I toggle to the numbers, it stays there until I toggle back to the letters.

Really? That's what I started with and have been struggling with. Maybe it's the program i'm using? I'm using documents to go... Every time I click on a cell I have to change to numbers.

Ooh....my bad. I mis-understood. I was thinking you were changing between numbers and letters in the same text input box. If you are changing cells then it wouldn't work like you want it to. It defaults to letters.

I agree it does get a little tight on the gs2...try this out on the perfect keyboard. Goto settings-tweaks- and toggle auto return to alpha and toggle numeric keypad on that screen. These will effect the portrait setup. Not sure if it will produce the desired effect when toggling between cells. Try to use the tab or next on the keyboard instead of touching the cell on the screen. I think that is what is resetting you keyboard. Or you may see if the t-9 setup will work.

Predictive text and autocorrect isn't working on the tmobile galaxy s. i get the predictive text list but i have to manually select the best match. It works differently on htc and misspelt words are not indicated or corrected. can anyone confirm this?

Works fine here.
I get the predictive text list but it does not auto select the best match. I have to select the match. That's how I think it is suppose to work Iike it does on htc phones. On htc all i have to do is press the spacebar and it completes the word. Also there is no autocorrect happening. Misspelt words are not underlined or corrected.

Well that sucks. I hope they can fix this. Is there a way to return to the previous build? My phone came already updated. I had a Samsung phone with sprint 2 years ago and swore I would never buy Samsung again after so many software bugs and delayed upgrades but decided to take a chance. Already regretting it.

I have the exact same problem and my phone also came updated. Try SwiftKey its so much better!!! Haven't looked back ever since I installed it and I think the trial lasts 30 days. In SwiftKey settings let it learn from ur texts it doesn't send any data but just analyzes it to help prediction

It doesn't work on any Note 2 at the moment, not your fault or any config that you can change.

Wow, that is pretty bad. I tried to use just a stock Jellybean kb and had issues with enter key on the email app.
What other keyboards are you guys using? I hate swype... thanks!
I use SwiftKey 3.
Samsung keyboard seems broken to me.

It's a bit painful, that, since so many good things are tied to the Samsung keyboard (Handwriting recognition, floating keyboard in multiscreen, one-handed mode, and parts of Swiftkey for that matter).
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
I recommend swift key 3 until Samsung gets it out. In fact I recommend it over the Samsung keyboard. But from what I read the new Samsung keyboards are based on swift key. Is that right?

The more I use the keyboard, the more I like it. There are pros and cons to having the spacebar auto correct. I do agree that they should make it an option though but after a couple of days with the Note 2 keyboard I find that I have less errors and am almost typing just as fast as SwiftKey. If you stick with the Samsung keyboard, you will get better at it.
Plus the numbers at the top and the pen input is too hard to give up. The pros outweigh the cons in my opinion.

TouchPal is a good keyboard too. And it's free!
Samsung has purposefully left it out. Your keyboard is fine. Although it would have been nice if Samsung had actually included the option to enable or disable auto correct. I use the Jelly Bean Pro keyboard from the Play Store. But I switch to the Samsung one if I am using Multi Window functionality.

Handwritten from my Galaxy Note II
The Hong Kong stock firmware keyboard I loaded a couple weeks back did perform autocorrect but the performance was so iffy (guessing the same incorrect word over and over rather than learning from prior corrections being the biggest issue) that I moved back to SwiftKey. I'm bummed about losing easy handwriting and the number row but as a whole I'm happier with the Swiftkey.
Some others stated that they got used to the stock keyboard without autocorrect but after a week+ on the English keyboard I decided it wasn't worth it.

Well mine worked fine until yesterday. It corrects its to it's automatically. But it doesnt work anymore.
I dont know why it worked at first place then not working anymore..
Btw I updated language as soon as I booted phone up for the first time..

Totally agree with this!!
It might be worth everyone giving Ultra Keyboard a try from the play store. It does Google voice typing, better swiping than the stock keyboard and allows a permanent number row. Also has long press secondary characters. The only thing you give up is the handwriting but for me that is infrequent enough that I'm prepared to switch keyboards just for when I need it.

Stock keyboard doesn't have auto-correct, I guess you're using a mod like the one by Arsaw (from the apps and themes section or integrated by your rom cook). If so the only way to turn auto-correct off is to turn Predictive Input off or flash stock keybord. But if you want to keep using it and just skip the suggestions for some words you have to tape the word you're writing so it loses the underline and won't get replaced.
I love the Swype keyboard dint get me wrong but have found that it's space bar is way to small and half the the time I end accidentally hitting the comma or period symbol. I might also email Nuance regarding this issue and see what they can advise or do about it
Sent from my GT-N7105T using xda premium
It automatically inserts space when you're swyping right? If you're not swyping, might as well try out other keyboards.
Disable Dragon and handwriting, it'll make the spacebar a little wider.
If you've a feature request, then go to Swype forum, and post accordingly. It'll get more attention then emailing.
