Pop-up Browser Causing Facebook Crashes - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys
Everytime I open a link in Facebook (app) using the Pop-up browser Facebook crashes immediately. This is 100% of the time. Is anyone else experiencing this? The Pop-up feature to me is something massively useful and to be unable to use it while browsing facebook is a major annoyance.

Seems to be working fine for me. Facebook v 1.9.5, running Android Revolution HD 2.0.

Chrome beta and YouTube

I'm using Chrome beta and i have noticed a few issues. The one which is driving me crazy is the integration with the native YouTube app, i mean, there's no integration or i can't find how to get it. Videos are not in HD and there is no fullscreen option. Any idea?

WHy are you using the website instead of the app. I am just wondering.
the app is super slow on my device for some reason. The website on Chrome loads almost instantaneously for me.
If you set your youtube account to use HTML5 rather than Flash, the new Chrome Beta plays everything in the Browser if you prefer that.
This can be seen with links to any apps. Clicking on an address in search results also uses browser based Maps instead of Maps app. You can star this bug here:

Facebook on nexus 7

As today Facebook app got a new update but I still feel that it's not quite good enough because of very slow speed, old UX& ... (as the app always was)
I'd like to know which app you use for Facebook recently.
I've tried Scope beta for few weeks, love the idea but still buggy and slow.
Thanks for sharing guys!

Same.. I haven't had an issue with it for ages.. It does what it's supposed to do.
I just go to facebook.com, looks just like PC version that way.
Facebook app is fine its smooth and fast no lag for me whatsoever
It takes 10-20 seconds of a black screen before it loads, but after that it works fine.
The problem i have is with its widget, i sometimes get a blank widget or it doesnt update.
Anyone with those issues??
I use flipboard for facebook, I really like the magazine format.
What's up with the Facebook website and Android? The input fields don't allow your dictionary to work and gets all screwy trying to type and backspace. It does this on any browser I've tried.
I just use Android Pro Widgets to use the Facebook and Twitter widgets for feeds, and click through to Facebook occasionally for notifications and IMs. I don't need instant notification about anything related to Facebook.

No issues here with the Facebook app. Loads in less than 2 seconds. Now on my phones it is a different story. They haven't ran it right in a year or so.
No problems here, more speed is needed with all apps to support Nexus 7 Quadcore CPU

There is a reason Facebook is working on a native app for Android and already did for iOS. Our current app is an HTML5 based slow piece of trash..,

I deleted facebook app ,using default cm10 browser is much faster..on a 20mbt internet i wait for 4-5 seconds and more for a 50kb picture to show, that app after 1000 updates is still bad joke.I left app only on my phone because of push notificafions but i dont use it.

Friend caster is pretty nice. Dual panel layout and everything. One problem with the official Facebook app is that it took so long for it to start up like 20 seconds for a black screen then another ten on the splash screen. Completely ridiculous. I heard they forced their employees to use android phones instead of I phones just to make them feel the crap they made for android.

Wifi internet slow on apps

Hi everybody!
I have my note 2 over a month (really nice device), and now just joined this community
From the beginning I am facing this annoying issue. Wifi internet seems super slow on every apps I am using (FB, youtube, gmail, etc.) Sometimes even shows "connection timeout" error. BUT not on chrome or firefox browsers, they're working just fine. I've checked wifi speeds (home and office) with speedcheck.net app: 15-50mbps, that's not bad.
So, where could be a problem? Tried to uninstall some apps, use wifi fixers app, but none of this seems to work. And of course, searched all over the web for a solution.
Device not rooted, v.4.1.1.
Thanks in advance!

Video issues

Need help resolving Every browser I've tried I have to download videos on websites it won't play them in browser. all I get is black screen with arrow in red when I try to play videos. I'm on stock 4.4 kitkat was working fine week ago I didn't do major changes at all.
Maybe not a browser issue then.
But try Dolphin Browser, it's great with some awesome features.
Smoother than any other Browser too.

YouTube, chrome crashes on marshmallow

Anyone else experiencing this? On fresh install with every marshmallow rom I've used YouTube crashes if I press anything and most chrome webpages freeze then crashes app.
I've updated to latest version, updated gpu drivers, tried with and without greenify and no matter what I do the problem occurs. It seems to me that this is Google services related..

Apparently it was Google services causing the issues ;___; anyone having these problems just update your services
