Today after waking up my girlfriend's phone **** itself.
-The phone was constantly powering down throughout the day, every 5-10 minutes. Upon powering it back on the device would boot up, but data and cell access was restricted, and would play 3 quick beeps.
-After a few hours of this the device just powered off, and now will not boot up at all.
-Was fully charged when we woke up this morning.
-Currently is not recognized by the computer. No driver installation, does not even appear as a generic device in device manager.
-No LED light sequence when trying to power on, or when plugging it into the charger (on computer or in the wall)
Sounds like it's most likely something in the hardware that failed. I tried to boot into recovery on it, but the device doesn't respond. Any other suggestions before taking it back to our carrier? It's only about 2 months old. It was rooted, but no custom roms or anything.

Weird thing happened with my phone today. Was listening to some music and browsing the facebook at the same time and suddenly music changed to this high pitch noise and had pull pull out the headphones cos it was really loud.
Everything on the phone froze and I was not able to do anything. None of the buttons worked etc.
I ended up removing the battery and once inserted it back, and pressed the on button, phone wouldn't come back on. Not even a vibration.
I have just plugged it to my PC and can see the orange light as if it is charging. But still won't come on. If I try and turn it on, orange light disappers but if I take the battery out and back in again, starts to charge - orange light.
I know the phone was fully charged before I left work and this happened almost like 15-20 minutes later.
I will contact HTC tomorrow, but just wondering if they'll repair it as I have used unrevoked about a week ago to root the phone but I have not loaded any roms as yet - Still have the original t-mobile rom.
So the screen stays completly black when you power the device on ?
You might try to Hard reset the device.
I would recommend this anyway before giving the phone away.
Else you can try to boot into recovery.
Or connect to your PC via USB and see whats happening.
Boot into recovery by holding down Vol Down and powering on. Try clearing the cache and rebooting.
If it doesn't boot, I recommend, doing a full wipe and trying again.
If this still doesn't work then put a room on your SD card and flash.
If you can't boot to recovery then its a hardware fault or battery issue. I suggest going into your local Telco store and ask to test with another battery.
Good Luck
Further to this, this morning I have noticed that the battery light was green, so the battery is obviously charging.
I still cannot turn on the device using power + vol down.
Called HTC now and arranged a collection.
Last week I awoke to find my G2 completely dead despite the fact that I had it plugged in all night. I plugged it into another charger and after several attempts to turn it on I still had no luck. Then I decided to do a battery pull. After putting the battery back in and plugging it back into yet another charger the amber led came on, but only for a few seconds. I repeated the process and then was able to turn on the phone when the led came on. At that point the htc boot screen showed but the phone shut back off after that. I am able to enter the boot loader, and the phone stays on, but if I try to enter recovery from that menu, it shuts off in the same way. The weirdest thing is when I try to hold the key combo to boot into recovery, the phone does 2 or 3 little vibrates then the amber led blinks.. I received a new battery from amazon today but the same problems are occurring with that one as well. Any ideas on where to go from here guys, because this is totally stumping me..? Thanks.
Hello everybody. The story goes like this
Last night I put my P6-U06 to charge overnight, After half an hour I realized it didn't charge at all. Not even 1% although the device stated "Charging(x%)" on the homescreen. After fiddling with it a bit changed chargers, changed cables etc. the phone died. Putting it back in the wall socket started charging my phone. After a 15% charge I thought I boot it up. Then the display went completely black and started vibrating continuously. As such I believed it to be a software issue and proceeded to download firmware from the huawei website and placed it in dload folder in sd card.
Problem is I have absolutely no idea if the phone is off or not because as soon as I plug it in a computer or wall socket it starts vibrating and the little LED starts beeping red. However when I try the 3 button hold for recovery the continuous vibration stops for a second and then it kinda pulsates( like when you are typing ) then starts vibrating continuously again. I have tried every possible combination of these three keys all with the same result. For some reason I cannot start the huawei recovery procedure. Also the pc is not detecting the phone at any stage.
What do you think is causing this? I can't explain what happened. A minute was working fine the other bam! bricked phone.
Update: plugging the phone in the pc or wall socket while holding the 3 buttons starts it with the pulsating vibration mentioned above. However nothing on the display and a few seconds after releasing the buttons the continuous vibration resumes.
Update 2: This morning the phone was left without charge. When connecting it to the charger the display came alive with the battery and percentage of charge. However booting it again resulted in the same issue.
I have an idol 4s and last night before bed, around 11:30pm, it decided it was a good time to windows update. I looked over and I saw the reboot and the gear icon, so although I knew I had about 50% battery I plugged it in and continued to read my book while waiting for it to finish.... except after the progress bar got to the end my phone never turned back on.
Despite several attempts at holding the power button to get it to come on, or plugging and unpluggin the power , all I get is the White Alcatel Idol4S boot screen, followed by the pink TMobile Logo.
Then, coincidentally as I'm writing this I plug it in again (coincidentally into my pc at work if that makes any difference) and it finally gets passed the windows logo and it shows the message at the top something about finishing up or whatever.
But as I recall, this happened on the last update, whenever that was too. Any idea what the heck is going on? Has this happened to anyone else?

I cannot tell much from what you are describing, but my best advice is to let it do what it needs to do and finish.
Just plug it in and leave it alone. Possibly you interrupted the update/upgrade process, but who knows? Unless it hangs there for hours and hours I try to never touch my windows phones to force a soft reset unless I absolutely have to.
Yeah, so it happened again last night. Just as I was going to bed, I saw the black and white screen with the gears rotating, so I just plugged the phone into power and went to bed... but making sure to turn on my other device so I'd atleast have an alarm to wake up to. 8 hours later nothing. If I plug in power or unplug power, I'll see the tmobile splash screen and then nothing else.
[edit] Not sure how relevant this is. But when I plug it in to power. The white led near the camera turns on as usual. But after a while it turns off, which leads me to believe that the device is literally turned off because as I recall, genreally speaking, it is not possible to plug in a windows phone device and not have it charge. What makes it interesting though is that even though the led is turned off, I still see the device in "This PC" when it is connected. I just can't browse the device storage of course. So as soon as I disconnect, it is not visible on my windows 10 pc until I plug it in again. I finally long pressed the power button, and unlike earlier when I would just remove and reconnect usb power, this time, the White Alcatel/windows 10 branding showed up, THEN the pink tmobile logo. And finally it booted up.
Mine's been doing the same since the start of the year... I have to keep rebooting till it finally "works" again... takes about 45-60mins of rebooting.

So Tuesday night before bed I went to check my phone (which had been on the charger for the last couple hours and so was at >95%) and noticed the volume button was not responding. I figured something buggy was going on, sometimes I need to reboot my phone every couple of days to get it to work properly (especially if it had run down into low power mode before recharging), so after unplugging it from the charger, I held down the power button, selected reboot, and clicked okay. The phone then proceeded to shut down, but not start back up.
When I tried to start it up again by holding the power button, I got no response initially. Then I was able to get it to buzz/vibrate, but the screen never came on.
I tried holding down the Vol- button and the power button together for 20 seconds to force a reset, and it vibrates a couple of times, but nothing happens.
If I plug it into a charger, I don't see any LEDs illuminate, and it just vibrates approximately every 3 seconds (not continuously, it seems to have some semi-random pattern). If I unplug it, the vibrating stops, but I still can't get it to turn on. It does not seem to make a difference if I am using a wall charger or trying to charge it off my laptop.
I have not rooted the phone or installed any custom ROMS, and have had it since I bought it on Amazon in June of 2017.
Any ideas what might be the issue? Any tips for reviving my phone?
This doesn't seem to match anything I have been able to find with some basic google searching.
Edited to add that I also tried removing the sim card and starting it up without one, but that did not appear to make a difference.
Update: I left it plugged into a wall charger for about 18 hrs and when I came back there was no change in behavior.
This many sound repetitive but lets first get the obvious out of the way so that we are sure you tried the most basic things for sure.
Is there an issue with the cable not able to charge the device? Can you try changing the cable?
Power + volume down for 30 secs / 1 minute / few minutes. This usually helps, sometimes more than 30 seconds for some reason. Try doing it while plugged in.
When you connect to the laptop what happens? Does it power on for a minute or vibrate?
Do you have adb installed on your computer? does you device get detected on your laptop?

Tried charging it with both the OEM cable as well as an amazon basics USB-c cable (both of which had been used to charge the phone successfully in the 24 hrs before it went wonky), no noticeable difference in behavior.
Held the power + volume down buttons for 180 seconds, did not boot. Repeated this with it plugged in (wall charger) and it still did not boot.
When I connect it to my laptop, I get the same behavior of vibrating as when plugged into a wall charger, but it does not boot or power on, nor does the laptop detect the phone in any fashion. I do not have adb installed on my laptop.
Anything else I can try, or is the phone a write-off at this point?
First step to solving any device issue is to somehow boot it and get in any mode possible. Since you can't do that I can't think of any other way to get it working.
I'm having the same issue, phone is not giving me any signs of life...frustrated at the moment
It's a total long shot, but try carefully cleaning out your charge port with a needle or a small pin and a little bit of alcohol. I pulled quite a bit of pocket lint out of mine and it works fine now. It didn't look like it was that dirty, but I pulled out a large ball bearing sized amount.
Other than that the only other thing I can think of is that your battery might be shot. It might have been taking enough of a charge to try and turn on, but not enough to do so.
