Hi.
I have bought phone on auction which should work but unfortunately it is not. When I turn it ON (without touching any of the buttons) it goes directly to fastboot (h___ttp://37.59.60.29/zdjecia/z139/1397270/big/7.jpg?screen - picture). Vol+/- and power buttons are not responding. I can connect phone to computer and type fastboot reboot. After that phone is booting perfectly and everything is working like a charm (wifi, bt, all keys, gsm etc) until next reboot. I can start hboot by pressing vol+ and power while turning on but the keys are dead too. I have noticed that while phone is turning OFF and I press vol- it keeps vibrating until I stop pressing the button or phone is shut down completely. I have read on forums that this particular behaviour (going to fastboot directly) may be hardware malfunction of buttons. In that case buttons did not work after fastboot restart was applied and phone was booted either. So I assume that this is not my case.
My question is as follows: is your phone vibes too if you press vol- during shutting it down (when white HTC screen is displayed)?
I am completely new in android driven phones (I was nokiae63 user until yesterday) so please do not use simple sentences
Thanks in advance, Dawid.
is that photo of the fastboot screen one you took yourself, or one you found on the internet?
cause I've only heard of phones booting directly into fastboot if the have a ruu flag set in misc. (which you can clear with misc_version 0.4)
But that ruu mode has triangles with exclamation marks in the corners of the screen, so its pretty easy to tell if you have it.

Hi.
So late, but still. I have found the solution. The middle button (cursor) was broken (pressed all the time). I have replaced that and it is working like a charm

Hi guys,
I've been on xda for a long time and done all things on my trusty old desire, but recently, during a rainy day, i tried to listen to a call, and maybe some water got in..... I went turned off, went home, dried the phone for a couple of hours,
Now when i turned it on, there is a message overlay on bottom left of screen, :SAFE MODE:
SAFE mode disables your DATA partition and no other obvious side effects (but its a big problem itself)
I've googled i around and some say its hardware fault, some say they fixed it with some keypress combos.... i tried em all, no luck yet..... keys do work in rom, except the Vol down, trackpad, and power key(it reboots instead locking).
I tried several gb, ics roms, downgraded hboot, then upgraded, many wipes, many reboots...no luck as of now..... Any helpful suggessions are welcome. I love my desire very much and plan to use it (if repaired) for a year atleast....
If there is a workaround, tell me ill try it for sure. My phone out of warranty so i am also willing to open it up myself and in that respect, any guide or tutorial is also welcome. Please guys just anything, even for the sake of it. (i know i sound desperate, coz i really am. Being a student, u cant replace smartphones very easily)
Regards
A broken Desire owner:crying::crying::crying:
It seems your Vol down and trackpad are stuck, so they keep being pressed. Might be a contact problem, but might also be on the mainboard.
ok guys
Lets see,
I opened up my desire using a disassembly video, (pretty hard job finding right screw drivers).....
Now vol down, vol up working..... power key is acting normal (not rebooting the phone on key press),
Search, menu, home, back, all are working perfect......
Optical J-pad NOT working, not pressing, not moving,
And phone still in safe mode....
Now any tips !!!!
Regards
Yasir
Usually you'd go to safe mode when pressing the menu button while booting, but it may be the same with the trackpad (can't test that atm). You say menu button works fine? Try pressing Vol- and Power and see if it reboots, then your trackpad is still stuck (and you can probably fix it like you fixed the volume buttons).
thanks for reply
hi,
OK guys i have some update....
Desire can be put in safe mode by using MENU + POWER key combo, thats the normal process. BUT, if there is water stuck in ANY of the keys, may it be vol up/down, menu, home, optical joypad etc, the DESIRE will detect a Fault in hardware, and go in SAFE MODE ALWAYS, no matter whether u press a combo or not....
IN MY CASE, the optical joypad had the shortcircuit...... i opened my phone myself using a disassembly video, and cud clearly see the burn out wire in optical joypad. So i removed the optical joypad button cable from its connector.
For the rest of the keys, i JUST performed cleaning with cotton cloth, and packed the phone up.
Voila !!!! The phone booted up JUST FINE......
so for all you guys out there, if you encounter this, you know what to do.....
I'll attach the picture of removed OJ later.

Yasir
Hello,
For couple of days i am searching for solution, but didn't found anything which will help me to solve my problem.
This is my problem:
Recently i got HTC Wildfire S phone which i think is soft bricked, don't know. Motherboard looks good, all connectors are great.
When i press Power Button, phone just vibrates (one time) and little sensor red dot appears for few seconds, after 2 minutes, it vibrates once again for fraction of second, and nothing shows up.
When i connect charger, little orange light in right corner of speaker appears. I left the phone for full night on charger, but in the morning i got just green light.
There is no any lights on display, i can't enter to fastboot (volume down + power button).
But when i press volume down and power button, the little red dot sensor shine and i can connect phone with usb to pc.
When i connect phone to PC via USB, PC installed drivers and said "device is ready to use".
I also installed the tool "minimal fastboot and adb" and all possible android sdk files..ect...
When i enter to command prompt and type fastboot devices i get some number. S1152563737 (This is random number but it looks like this one, it begins with "S"). Any other fastboot command typed in will just show message failed with message in brackets (1 bytes).
All tutorials, tips and information from forums say press volume down + power button , but i got what i already explaind just little red sensor shining.
Summary:
Phone vibrates one time when i press power button
With vibration, little red sensor shining, after that (2 minutes) phone vibrates one more time but this time just for fraction of second AND red sensor turns off.
Can't enter to phone fastboot volume down + power
Nothing showing at display (just black without lights)
I can connect Phone to PC
PC recognizes Phone, installS drivers
P.S
I tried something with PG7610000_Marvel_hboot_1.09.0099_2.13.401.3_0210_R and i found out this information about my phone
IMG VERSION: 1.34.110.3
If you know something about this, and you think you can help me, please leave reply.
Thank you
EDIT: I have 4 batteries, when i put other battery, press power button, red sensor blinks for 2-4 times (not light in speaker).
Please have in mind and you probably know that i am talking about two different LIGHTS, red sensor light and upper charging light.
Also for one time i managed to get lights in down touchscreen options, and it seemed that phone works but not sending anything on display. Light also fade in and out when i pressed power button. That happened for one time only.
I gived a lot of information, i hope it's not confusing..
Hi,
I have a weird bug with the touchpad of my phone.
It stops working after unlocking the locked screen.
Ok, here is what happens:
I dropped my galaxy W on the road, then someone drove over it...
After this accident, the LCD screen as well as the glass broke but the phone could still start and was ringing when called.
I decided to take my chance and bought the parts to fix it. I have changed the digitizer and the LCD screen.
The phone boots just fine.
I am able to swipe to unlock the phone and access the home screen.
However, once I access the home screen, the touchpad doesn't respond anymore! Volume buttons, home button and power buttons are still working fine. Options and return button are not working too.
I am even able to access my missed calls from the locked screen if I press on the missed call button directly on the locked screen.
I have tried to access the recovery mode. By pressing volume up+home+power, I can access it, but I then need to press onto the "options" button which is not answering. I am stuck again.
I have also tried to access the downloading mode. I can access the "warming!" menu (with explainations about the dangers related to custom OS), but the phone stops answering after that. I press the volume button up or down nothing happens.
Is it a software issue or a hardware issue (related to the motherboard?)
Thanks for you help.
liquid can be contacted. Odin or try the setup ..:good:
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to rescue the contacts of a S4 mini with a completely broken screen (just black). I found some post stating:
First remove battery and reinsert, then press volume down, home and power button at once until the device vibrates, release and push volume up. Connect USB and flash the TWRP recovery with Odin. After removing/reinserting battery press volume up home and power. It should be in MTP mode.

As I can't see what happens on the phone I tried it several times but no luck. What happens is:
I press all the mentioned keys until it vibrates and when I release the buttons to press volume up, it vibrates again and a few seconds later the Samsung jingle is playing (I guess this is normal booting). Any idea, what I'm doing wrong?

depends what was causing your blank/black screen. If the cable has come loose then it will not work until it's reinserted.
What caused the black screen? Did you drop it?
Is there any sign of power in the screen? Is the black screen you mention caused by "no power" or "no image", do you think?
If no power seems to be getting to screen then you should take the back off and the inner cover and check the connectors, as first step. But could be other hardware failure (if not software).
I was getting a notice on boot that said "Your device is corrupted and cannot be trusted," so I held down the power and volume down buttons to get it to fastboot mode. However, I couldn't get it to be recognized in fastboot on my laptop. At one point I selected "reboot bootloader" and the phone promptly shut off, black screen and completely unresponsive.
From that point on, I can't get it to do anything. I've tried holding power + volume down for 20 seconds and then plugging it in (as noted in another thread) as well as taking it apart and disconnecting the battery to see if that would reset it somehow. No dice.
Any other suggestions before I give up? Thanks very much in advance...

my device is for the most part of the time in qualcomm mode, but I managed to have access to the phone 3 days ago, installing apps & stuff, worked perfectly well until I had
the bad idea to try to charge it through the charger instead of charging it through my computer...
how I've done it?
I used the power reboot technic :
1) pressing the power button for 1 minute
2) doing nothing for some seconds
3) pressing the power button again for 1 minute
4) connecting the phone to the charger, the red light flashed
5) the battery icon appeared soon after
6) waiting for complete charge, phone rebooting
it worked once, so I suppose it can work again. fingers crossed.
