What country are you in?
If you're outside of the UK, you're probably not covered by UK warranty regulations.
As far as I know warranty is only local and not international. So if you buy it in the UK and go elsewhere, to have it fixed you have to go back to the UK.

it depends on whether the warranty provided is international or only domestic (local)

Has anyone heard any rumors about a Galaxy Nexus on contract for T-Mobile?
Sent from my iced vibrant
Not even a peep. No one knows at this point. If you want it, you're gonna have to just go off contract and buy the international one.
My phone shows up as T-Mo Galaxy Nexus on the web version of the market. To me, that shows that something is in the pipeline...

Are you using a Galaxy Nexus on T-Mobile? That'd explain it... Pretty sure the market just reads the build.prop and the carrier ID.
My N1 had always shown with no carrier ID, because T-Mo didn't officially support the N1...
Buy a international version! That's what I did and thankfully never regretted it! Best phone I ever used and also came from a vibrant..

Yes, but they never officially supported them. They always displayed as an unknown device on mytmobile, etc

Not really. All Nexus One phones were sold directly from Google.
Yes, T-Mobile offered a plan to users who wish to sign up with a two-year contract. This was very limited as it was only for customers who were on individual plans.
Nexus One was never marketed or advertised in T-Mobile corporate stores or their website.

Does it matter which T-Mobile he means in this case since you said yourself neither is getting it? T-Mobile in the UK owns T-Mobile here anyways.

Well just because DT owns T-Mobile USA doesn't mean they both get products at the same time... They announce and run their own product lines and deals separate of each other.

Dude, I'm from Lancashire...
If you are talking T-Mobile USA... I say yes, its the unlocked GSM galaxy nexus. Negri supposedly has it for 575 shipped after coupon for the 16gb version. That's not much more than I paid for my grey market daily steals gsm galaxy nexus. After inflation its not much more than the 520 dollar nexus s I bought day one. True, its not subsidized, but if you plan on keeping the phone for any length of time you potentially pay less staying off contract. More up front, but less on the back end. Plus you get access to almost everything in the app store. I still can't get wallet working with my nexus s but this one works out of the box. Plus square trade is less than T-Mobile warranty or geek squad (us GSM nexus s only available at best buy). Save up a little or pay it on credit and pay over time, but in the 500s this is a great phone for T-Mobile given the features. Unsubsidized 32gb model on Verizon is 645 new so...

I thought all carriers had it over here, just go to orange as they share spectrum or o2 or vodafone. Or could take the cheaper action and get giffgaff and buy it outright.

I think this is just plain stupid this whole forum should be divides on to GSM and cdma section. Going to accessories section is pointless to me as 99% of topics are bloated with stuff that doesn't exist anywhere else than us of a. And even if there is something it gets lost in minutes

Splitting the forums into more sections would cause more havoc. Most shippers are international anyway especially the purchases made on Ebay.
The GSM extended battery comes from South Korea and took about 7-10 days.

No it doesn't.
T-Mobile UK is an independently operated wholly-owned subsidiary of Everything Everywhere. Everything Everywhere is partially owned by Deutsche Telekom.
T-Mobile US is an independently operated wholly-owned subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom.
But really the ownership matters less than the fact that all of the T-Mobile networks run quite independently of each other. So to get back to it, it does matter for people to specify 'which' TMO they're referring to. Of course, this one should have been pretty clear based upon OP's information.

I understand the launch is likely tomorrow, or in the next few days. Despite this, Rogers and actually most of the other major Canadian carriers run on the same bands for GSM, 3G and LTE as AT&T. I know for other Samsung devices, this has meant a shared forum for all these carriers. Does anyone know if this will be the case for the Note II as well?
I guess we will have to wait and check our model #s. It would be a shame though for users to assume that because their radios might be the same, that their model is the same, and they brick their device (assuming they would in fact be different).
If anyone can enlighten me on the situation, let me know.
Thanks,
Kiwinadians
Not sure about Bell or Telus but Rogers is definitely using the at&t variant, model numbers match. Wind, Mobilicity and Videotron are going to be using T-Mobile's variant with AWS HSPA.

Thanks for the reply. This was the assumption I was making based on what I know about Canadian network frequencies, but you know what 'ass'uming does. Bell & Telus are usually similar, but I think they run a different lower freq. band for LTE (don't quote me on this, I'm thinking back to a wiki reference from a while ago).
I'm a 7-11 speakout user, so for me its the Rogers network, so I'll buy the non-contract Rogers variant. Thank goodness it also seems to be the cheapest!
Cheers
I placed my order with Rogers today for a.corporate account can't wait

according to wikipedia the telus, bell, rogers variants are all SGH-i317M. seems to me that this will be the same phone as the AT&T version, with just an M to signify its the Canadian version.
Previous samsung phones with the M have been exactly the same hardware, just branded to the Canadian carrier, which should mean that mods/roms etc designed for the AT&T variant would work just fine for us Canadians.

Samsung Galaxy Note II superphone (SGH-I317M) - launch delay
Highlight:
"Samsung will roll out a series of launch activities starting October 30 for the official release of the Samsung Galaxy Note II superphone in Canada. However, due to global product delays, Bell will begin shipping product to channels starting Wednesday October 31st. Please begin selling upon receipt of inventory."
Then he adds:
"Mobile DNA Hi James Fan really hope Bell could start processing the shipment. In addition to the global delay, bell also move there warehouse to a new location which is causing huge delay for all the shipments : ("

Pretty pathetic for a company to launch a product and have absolutely zero stock on hand to sell. Samsung really fudged things here. A lot of pissed off posts on their Facebook page.

those are in every bestbuy/most brick and mortar electronics stores, but not the international unlocked version, only the carrier variants.
The ~35% price difference between US ans UK purchases of Nexus 5X had me thinking about finding a way to get a Nexus 5X from US.
My concern is, will I have any issues with the device, if I use it in a european country (I live in Greece)? For instance 4G not working or other connectivity issues.
What should I be aware of before making that move?
TIA
Greece uses LTE bands 3 and 7, and UMTS band 1.
The US version of the 5X has these so you would be OK in Greece.

Should be the same! I think most of the European countrys use band 1,3,7 and 20
You can see the bands for italy on wiki (I´m not allowed to post links yet so im gonna describe where)
search google for "lte frequency bands italy" and use the link List of LTE networks in europe.
Greetings
You guys have to consider warranty as well as exchanges. Might be cheaper, but in the long run could be more expensive. Don't you guys have 2 year warranties?

If you don't care about the warranty then I day go for it if the spectrum is there. You won't have a warranty buying an out of market one.

It's a risk for sure, but the price difference I think justifies it. My concern now is whether service centers for LG here in Greece, will service US devices or they'll respond that they have no spare parts for the US model.
That's only if nothing goes wrong. I believe if you look at LG Nexus 5 section you might be able to find your answer if the do cross warranty. Something tells me they won't, because it doesn't work the other way around. From what I have seen people who bought international versions here had to send it to where the device was intended for. Sometimes the importer might give a limited warranty or some sort of warranty plan you can purchase.
