How do Note 2 with Jelly Bean handling big game data files after installed on the phone? Since its only 10Gb space left of 16GB and games these days can be 2-5GB big and how suppose to install few of these? Since Google have removed app2sd support on JB and might not support it on later android versions.
Anyone tried to install game with 2-5GB and does all install on inetrnal nand memory or game data auto install store at external card?
Still considering on if gonna wait for 32GB/64GB version instead and really wanna to know how Note 2 handle big game file size installs?
As far as I know, If you install the game's .apk into the external storage, all the data files associated with it would be downloaded to your external storage.

Hmm..didnt Google removed with Jelly Bean, choice to install game/app on external card? How suppose to install game on external card then and as I know can only do that with root?
Or depends on game/app developer make game install directly on external card?

Hi guys this new games are driving me crazy. New Nova data file is almost 2GB and other new games are not better. And well I am loving at so much I got new 64GB Micro SD card only to find myself in a trouble, all games save data file in internal storage. Now I tried to go to manage programs and select move to SD Card and only thing it did is moved actual game .like 5 mb and not data folder. So my question is this. Can I just manually move data folders from internal storage to external or I need to use program or setting .....I want to use my new 64GB SD card as main data storage for all games , what do I do ? I am on new rooted ICS with Darkside Evolution 3 beta 1
Thanks !
Noone knows or this is so obvious as copy from internal to external that noone want to even drop a line in here
I have 2 mb left on my internal card ...... HEEELP Thx
I'm in the same exact boat! I'd like to know also.
Yeah I can't imagine something like this is not widely discussed and not actually right in the settings. I do see copy to SD in settings of Applications but it looks like all it does is copy of original install files and not data file, come on guys open this huge secret on how to use external SD for all game cache cause Nova 3 is just killing me .........
With the original note, when I installed large games, it would put the data files on the external sd card. With the note 2 I have noticed that all of the data is being stored on the internal storage instead of the external sd card. So with just 3 games installed, I am getting low on storage. Is there any tweak/hack that will force the apps to be in installed on the external sd card? Does it have something to do with the way it is named?
Yeah I don't know what the hell they were thinking restricting this feature. But after I get the OTA update for multi-view, I'm gonna root it and do the binding technique.

Thanks for the link. I will give that a try. I think it is also the fault of the game programmers. When I installed Bard's Tale it saw both the internal and external and asked me where I wanted to put the data.
Update: Well I tried using directory bind and it moved the data for me but the bind never showed up in the list and the app wouldn't work. Going to have to read up some more on it.
Hey Guys,
I just recently bought my wife a 64gb micro sdcard and I was hoping I could make it the default storage for everything if possible.
What I meant about that is for caching like maps, dropbox, fxcamera, maxgo, hbogo, and many more. ( it is currently located at /sdcard0/Android/data ).
Another thing is for some apps like whatsapp/groupme/viber, to save videos/pictures there. There seems to be no settings in whatsapp to save attachments to the external.
The only thing I've managed so far is to set the camera to save to the ext sdcard, that is about it!
Is there a way to move /sdcard/Android/Data to the external SD card?
Also, is there a way to install apps to the external sd instead of internal? She just had the phone in 10 days and it is almost full
Thanks!
EDIT: Wife GN2 is stock, unrooted -> will not root ever
EDIT 2: I just read that you can't move apps to the EXT SDCard anymore with JB - but that is fine as long as I can assign cache/default directory storage of apps to the External SD .. if someone knows how to
BUMP!
I just did a lot of research and found out that with GS3 and GN2 you can't transfer app to ext SD or install apps on the ext SD anymore when in stock.
Wow, that is so bad! Three big games would fill the 16gb already. I'm pretty sure Google has a good reason for that.
Anyway, some features of the GN2 like burst shot does not allow to save pictures to the external sd card (which is fine) but is there a way to automatically transfer files from internal to sdcard, while deleting files from the internal files while doing the process. It is like rsync in Linux.
As much as possible I want the GN2 to purely use the external SD instead of the internal.
Any app that can do that? Unrooted.

That is what I use & make sure you are running a custom kernel (eg: persues) to get the addon to work.

you're going to be very limited since your wife doesn't want to be rooted.
Hello all,
I love my 7105 but I have this HUGE problem with the CM nightlies I am using, the internal storage space is always to the max.
I have a 32g SD card and I can't install ANYTHING on it, I have a ton of games and they eat up all in the internal space
So I'd like a rom which allow me to either install the games or any program I want to the SD like it was possible on the older android versions, why the hell did google kill this great feature, I feel like I have an iphone when i get told it can't install or update because it's full.
Or if this is really not possible is there a possibility to mount some "internal" folder on the external sd card, i have tried folder mount to move real racing which is 3gigs by itself, it tells me all is done but the game is still on the inside card...
Thanks a lot for the help
Mokee ROM does allow saving apps to SD card.. Though I don't know if it works on n7105.. I used it on my n7100
Its a CM based ROM.
This might be a stupid question, but maybe not....
I have a rooted US Owens running stock rom with a 64gb SD card (prob 10 gb used) used as external storage (ie: not adaptive storage). I like the idea of keeping it as external storage as in the past I ruined a phone, but was able to save my media by popping the card out. However, I'm finding that I am running out of room for apps - I blame it on the bloat of banking apps, Snapchat, and the FB apps. What's the best way to get more app space? Should I transfer my media to my PC, and reformat the SD to be adaptive, and transfer back? Is there such a thing as partitions in Android, where I can have the best of both worlds? I tried Apps2SD, but got a file system error.
You can try this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.nbu.files
Fast SD card and format as internal storage. Then go into developer options and enable force apps to sd card.
you can also partician the card using root essentials then use say 25% for adoptivr then 75% for external i have 2 set up that way NOW u will get the occasional missing card etc forcing u to format and LOSE everything BUT i have Titanium backing up ALL apps every night to the external partisan AND google drive Ive recovered twice so far
