Did you fixed permissions as rw-r-r after replacing it. Mine is working perfectly..
Go to Root Explorer
System/Apps/SecLauncher.apk
Press it and keep it holding until a menu comes up.
Now go to permissions and set as rw-r-r and reboot..
Hope it will work...

Hi there,
My N7100 is troubling me with a weird issue. The phone works absolutely fine except for Gallery. When I open Gallery it slows down, freezes takes forever to zppm etc. I went to app settings, and did a clear data, enable/disable, clear cache for the Gallery app but it didn't help. I've even done a factory data reset from the backup and restore menu but still no joy.
Please help!
You can install the new gallary and camera? Maybe that helps

Thanks that sounds promising but how do I install the new gallery app? Where do I find it? Is it possible my phone's not rooted?
Have u disabled gallery syncing?
You can try this?

So I'm trying to replace some original system apps that i deleted from de-bloating. I basically just copy paste it via ES file explorer to system/app and change permissions to rw- r-- r-- and restart. I've gotten apps working using this method before, but some apps don't seem to want to re-install when I do this. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Which apps are you trying to reinstall?
Do they maybe have dependent libs? If I were u, I'd just do a nandroid backup, reflash the ROM, and maybe restore your data only from the nandroid.

The one's i'm trying to get back are VPN client and the stock music player. They both come with odex files and I'm pulling them straight out of an image so I doubt they're corrupt. I was thinking about starting over, but it's a lot of work redoing my theming. I guess I'll live without the apps for now.
I hate to play the noob card but where is the no Camera sound mod for ma7? Thanks

Try this:

There is also an .apk that will remove shutter sounds, but the problem is, it also removes spen sounds, a breaks other things.
I tried that and it didn't work and don't want to break anything.

What program were you using, to edit the files?
Es note editor

I've had problems with ES, for the last few months, and versions. As a matter of fact, I cannot get it to work at all, when editing the files. It usually changes something unintended, as messes up the permissions. Root explorer works every time, and doesn't have any issues with permissions.
ES Note Editor changes permissions to rw- --- --- every time you save. These files need to be changed to rw- r-- r--
It is a good practice to check a file's permissions prior to editing with ES
Also, in the camera app, you then need to set the sound to off.

I'm running 4.1.1 with the 4.2 camera and can't successfully upgrade to 4.2 without a bunch of hassle so I'd like to just turn off the "system update available" notification and the annoying popup that's associated with it. I'm rooted and have all the typical apps (Ti backup, root browser, busybox, voodoo, etc.).
I've searched all over and can't find how to get these notifications to go away. Deleting the OTA files works for a short time but it's not a long term solution. Thanks.

Either push this to system/app and change permissions to rw/r/r or push to system/app and immediately reboot into recovery and choose to fix permissions

in Titanium back-up you can find the system update and freeze it so it won't try to update anymore

Well, I put it in the app folder and changed the permissions and then rebooted. First thing that popped up on the screen once it had rebooted was the OTA notification. Am I supposed to be able to open this app to set it up or something? I can't find it in the app tray and it appears so far it's done nothing to help the situation. Thanks.
Hey guys,
I was hoping to be able to install the JB clock app/widget on an ICS ROM, but I haven’t been able to locate the right thing to download/install. Is what I want even possible, and if so, can anyone provide a link?
TIA
Heres the DeskClock apk i just pulled from my rom: http://www.mediafire.com/download/p8waf6k78vmnflv/DeskClock.apk
Try putting it into system/app and changing the permissions to rw-r-r using a file explorer with root access. Then reboot and see if it appears in your app drawer.
