Is anyone able to reliably use the voice controls in the music app? I swear it worked once for me, and I can't get it to work any more.
Voice control to take a picture in the camera and in S-Voice itself works fine.
It's driving me mad!

I heard about the development in froyo of the voice commands, but still no voice music controls. Besides the Music by voice:

Is there any other app that gives the music voice control, like iphone?
Specially the genius functionality (ability so say "play songs like this")
Another question, can this voice controls work with a head set mic (by long press ,etc...)?
Thanks

btunes has voice control.
Does this also have headset controls, and controls with the lockscreen on?
Anyone know exactly what I can use to get S-Voice or Google Now to open upon a long click of the headset/headphone button?
I am a recent Android user and came over from iPhone, one simple feature I loved about my iPhone 4 (with had basic voice controls but not Siri) was the ability to hold the headset button while biking and just say "play Nirvana" or "play album Nevermind" and it would go into the music player and play what I requested.
For some reason I haven't been able to replicate the same function with my S3. It works find if I am looking at the phone and press S-Voice or Google Now, but not when I have no access to the screen/screen lock.
Any ideas?
anyone?
Hello all!
I hope that this is the right spot for this in the forums, I have a VERY frustrating problem since I updated to JB on my Sprint Samsung Galaxy SIII. I tried to put it on the main Galaxy SIII page but no responses. Sorry for the double post.
Let's say I reboot my phone and get into the car. I can push the little microphone and dictate all of my text messages, use Google now and life is good. BUT if I were to then listen to Google Music Player, or an audiobook through the speakers in my car, I no longer have access of the Google voice recognition. I try to dictate a message but I don't see the OK TO TALK prompt. I can't use Google now because it gets stuck in Recognizing..I can't use any of the voice features of my phone.
BUT, if I turn off the Bluetooth, I can use the voice recognition features. Turn it on and they can't be used. If I uncheck the bluetooth audio media option, all works great, but as soon as I check it, The voice recognition features no longer work. Rebooting solves the problem, until I listen to Google Music Player
This is very frustrating because sometimes I do have to dictate my text messages while driving. I can't do this, or use Google Now while I am in my car. I really think it is the Bluetooth Media Audio, but I am unsure how to correct this.
Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks
Mike
Hi Everyone
I'm having issues with Google Voice Recognition. If I have headphones plugged in and I toggle voice recognition from the soft keyboard (the little mic icon) the media player I have running in the background cuts out. It stays out even after voice recognition has finished listening.
If I toggle voice recognition into listening mode again, the media audio cuts back in until voice recognition stops listening, then it cuts back out. Even apps like Utter! cause this same exact behavior. It seems to be when one of these apps forces the audio to focus on something else. This issue doesn't happen at all if I *don't* have anything plugged into the headphone jack. It works like normal in those cases.
Restarting the media player doesn't fix it. The only ways to fix it are to totally restart the phone, or unplug the headphones, toggle voice recognition, wait for it to stop listening, then plug the headphones back in. Then it all works correctly until the next time voice recognition is toggled. Then the problem happens all over again.
I'm running Beanstalk 4.3 RC1.1 + W03Tweaks v1.6.1 with uneak kernel 2.22. I've tried switching to a different kernel (devil) but I get the same results. I've noticed this problem on both 4.2 and 4.3 rom's for me (Both Beanstalk, haven't tested other roms).
It's driving me crazy since I can't use voice recognition when I'm driving without causing my music to stop. I made a video of what it's doing, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFm-Hk0TADw.
Today people I called couldn't hear me while I could hear them fine. I thought maybe the mic had gone kaput but when I tried the voice recorder app I could hear myself albeit at very very low volume. Then I tried taking a video and the audio was perfectly fine. No recent software updates to the phone apart from updating HTC Backup , HTC Weather , Google Play Music and Google via the Play Store. Obviously the mic is fine (to some degree anyway) so how can I force Android to always use it the way the camera app does? I'm stock at the moment.
