Will Google Wallet work in CM10 if I have baseband I747UCLH9?
I updated my Galaxy S3 with the LH9 OTA update. I decided I wanted to get Google Wallet working so I flashed a nightly build of CM10. I've got Google Wallet installed and my card is added correctly.
I haven't tried it at a store yet but I was curious if anyone else has done this. I know that Google Wallet should work with CM10 but I wasn't sure if the LH9 baseband would prevent communication with the paypass terminal.
So, has anyone tried Wallet with LH9 baseband?
Thanks!

I just purchased an unlocked Galaxy Nexus from new egg.com. The phone is from Japan and is branded with a NTT-Docomo logo and is only running ICS 4.0.1. I tried checking for an ota update and nothing happens when I clicj in system update.
How can I update the phone to the latest version of ICS?
The product name of the device is "yakjuxe". Thanks in advance.

Should work. Worked for me.
You may not want to flash to the new radio though. Apparently the Docomo uses their own radios. The google radio will work, but some say the Docomo radio is actually better.

Great! This worked. Phone is now running 4.0.4.
Got all of my apps back and ready to go. I have noticed some minor differences from the previous build, but nothing significant.
Will I now be able to receive OTA updates directly from Google?
Thanks!
Looks like there's a new firmware in town...

I'm sure no one has done this yet, but I thought I'd start a thread with a few questions:
Have you tried updating your phone to takju yet?
Is the radio different in takju?
Have you noticed any major differences in your phone with takju?
Of course, this assumes that takju can be flashed onto yakju/maguro devices, which may not be a correct assumption.
I want to flash this tonight, but I think I'll wait until mskip updates the GNex Toolkit to support the new 4.0.4 version.
The only difference appears to be that Google Wallet comes installed and officially supported in takju. The radio and bootloader are the same as yakju's most recent version.
This must be for the US version of the phone just released for 399.
I'll probably flash this. I had problems with the google wallet apk floating around - it would never let me open the messenger app. This should work nicely.
It's 99,9% the same as the IMM76I yakju. The 0.1% difference is that Google Wallet is added and officially supported. Only in USA, though.
Crap, I should have just looked at the archive before posting this:
tar -xvf takju-imm76i-factory-e8c33767.tgz
x takju-imm76i/
x takju-imm76i/flash-base.sh

this is what people are saying. If this is true then there probably isn't much reason to roll takju.
I'm on T-Mobile and had to do the market/browser switcheroo to get Wallet installed. It now shows up under my "installed" apps properly.
Perhaps in the next software update Yakju will be takju for all of us

I wonder if the "takju" factory reset image fixes my Google Wallet's Secure Element Not Responding Error...
Im running AOKP, obviously rooted and i flashed the radio and bootloader. Wallet works with no errors or messages. :-D

AFAIK nothing can fix that. If something can, its not takju. Takju is just yakju with a pre-loaded wallet.apk, its not some special firmware.
Well I just flashed Takju on my phone using Fastboot, I have noticed three small stupid little things... firstly, the Play Store widget isn't displayed on the second home screen like it did with Yakju by default, secondly the Wallet app is hidden (no surprise since Im in Australia) and thirdly, play Store doesn't auto-update Gmail/Books etc as for some reason they are not listed as installed apps in the 'My Apps' section. I had to manually update them.
still yakju after OTA
My Gnex just got OTA to 4.0.4, still yakju.

Yes, we know
I just bought the phone yesterday from Verizon. It's all stock. I'm running 4.0.2, but I was wondering if 4.0.4 is out for everyone? I haven't received any update about it on the phone. Checking for updates just says I'm up to date. Do I need to manually update it, or just wait for it to hit me? How long should I wait?
If I decide not to wait, I have to unlock and root my phone, correct? And then download and install 4.0.4 (IMM76I) "yakju" from Goggle's Nexus factory images page? or do I need "mysid IMM76K from ICL53F" for toro from the "Official Google OTA Update URLs" thread on these forums?
I'm just concerned because I ran into some battery issues already (phone was completely dead when I woke up this morning. was at 90% when I went to bed. About 7 or 8 hours) and I read 4.0.4 fixes some of the battery issues. I've also changed some settings to limit battery draining. I believe it's working.
Root and Unlock using GNex TOOLKIT V6.1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392310
then install a custom rom should also fix your battery issue
4.0.2 its really buggy.. If you are rooted and unlocked try some custom rom?
Stock 4.0.4 has loads of improvement, great battery, great performance, camera quality fix, etc..
If you want stock image, download from Google official site and flash it via fastboot, and then reroot

No, I'm not rooted or anything at all. I planned to root later when I got use the phone. I'm pretty new to this root stuff, but want to explore it. I've already been doing lots of research.
But it seems the vote is to go ahead and unlock, root, get 4.0.4 and get a custom rom/kernel. lol Instead of waiting to get the 4.0.4 through Verizon, I should get it myself manually. I was wondering if I should just wait or not.
Is yakju the version I want or toro?

Thank you! I just have another question before I decide to flash 4.0.4 to my device.
4.0.4 was pulled from google servers, but is available at Random Phantasmagoria. Though, RP says it's not recommended to flash the 4.0.4 IMM76K update. Would you agree? I haven't seen anyone say that version has given problems with all the reading I've done, so I imagine it's fine. Just double checking. I think most people have to be on 4.0.3 or 4.0.4 to get certain kernels and such to work.

Well I was using the IMM76K version til yesterday with CM9 and it was fine, its been upgraded to IMM76I in the latest nightly.
All kernels work with 4.0.3/4.0.4
I don't think you'll have any problems as long as you download the right firmware for your model. Don't flash the GSM firmware on a cdma phone.
Can anyone help getting the new update from Samsung to get Google wallet? My phone is rooted so it wont update it self.
I bought an unlocked yakjuux Galaxy Nexus (Canadian) phone that currently has 4.2.1. From what I understand, Samsung is responsible for doing the OTA updates, which I know unfortunately occurs later than the Google ones. I'm using this phone on T-mobile in the United States, and I wanted to ask if this will interfere with me getting any updates, since I'm not using a Canadian service. If not, I'm willing to wait it out. If not, I'm considering flashing takju or yakju. Does flashing these images also change the radio, or is that a separate process? Thanks in advance.

That's actually a separate process as Roms normally only package kernels and even then is optional.
If you search the android development forum you'll find the radio thread and likely find the radio you need to flash. I would link but on mobile.
Also I believe Rhee only difference between yakju and takju is Google wallet. I actually think Google factory brands every phone with any JB stock rom. (Eg. No longer rogers/bell/fido etc boot screen and bloatware.)
So unless you flash manually I'm not sure you'll get OTA because the Canadian OS for me on wind and rogers has only updated to 4.1.2 because of the 4.2 bugs.
EDIT was 4.2.2 but when I got OTA it changed to 4.1.2, I now use the cm10.1 so I'm not much help anymore.

Thanks for the reply. Is there an advantage of me flashing a new radio?
Also, if I understood the last part, I can get OTA updates from my Canadian phone, even though I'm on a US network, but they've delayed the update because of bugs.

No problem! All it really changes is how it deals with reception, any radio can be flashed with any ROM, personally I'd recommend the latest, doesn't destroy your battery as much on 3G anymore.
And it does seem plausible to receive OTA if its not rooted and still on stock because the factory images come from Google now. (International)
But yes that's correct, as far as I know wind (my carrier) has only gone to 4.1.2 my roommate has this same phone officially from wind with 4.1.2 and we just clicked system update saying it's latest.
Rogers may be different however I changed my phone from a rogers gnex to my own little wind gnex
Hopefully you fix your issues!
