Posting the problem in Dev section WONT bring it Alive.
And you wont get helpful answers this way. (Just like my answer)
Just Try search. It really helps.
Please Search in Desire Q&A , see if others have had same problems like you. And im very sure, you'll get it working in no time. FOUR SQUARES ON SCREEN EDGE IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE. (GB RUU might fix it, or see BORTAK's troubleshooting guide which many ppl recommend.)

Hi guys,
it's now 3 days I'm reading around forums but still I cannot use my desire and nobody could help me.
I have 0.83.0001 bootloader, so it suppose to be a SLCD version, I rooted it with unrevoked and default recovery image. (not with the one SLCD compatible)
So when I switch it on normally it go in recovery mode with black screen.
Now I can only switch it on into fastboot and Hboot mode.
Tried to do almost everything without success.
Please someone can help me? I cannot use it anymore!
Thanks a lot
regards

Have you tried following this guide? You will need to create a gold card which i am presuming you have from your previous attempt.

Same on xda forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=748498
unfortunately tried without success!!
Have you tried the 2nd method of going back to 2.1 stock? I was about to ask what happens when you follow those steps but i guess thats a silly question..any chance you messing up a step? never know as you cant see what you doing it pretty hard to get feedback! does the phone vibrate and reboot at any point?
Hey. I think you indeed got a SLCD device. The following tutorial should work (worked for me), beware, cuz you will need to do **** on the device without a screen, but if you read well, it should work.

Hello everybody,
I'm stuck with this condition, wherever i start up my Htc Desire it shows the htc logo and four triangles on the sides. And on every combination vol- vol+ backkey + powerbutton i get the same screen.
Lost the original SD card (not sure if this matters).
I got this screen when i unplug from pc:
AlphaRev CM7 r2
BRAVO PVT3 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-5.17.05.23

RUU
I've been told to downgrade the Hboot (from the alpharev.nl) in order to Ruu the stock ROM downloaded from the HtcDEV, with no luck.
Since I've got the CyanogenMod hboot, is there any method i can flash CM on the phone. Having CM7 would be perfect!!
Check this thread particularly the RUU Problems section. Good luck.

Well, I guess if you have one thread locked, why not just re-register and ask the same question?? Lol.

You're persistent, I'll give you that much. How long has this been going on and have you been without a phone all this time?? In your original thread, you mention "I've ended up with a Htc desire of which I don't know the background since wasnt mine"... Where did the phone come from? Did you pay for it? And are you now just wasting everyone's time for a phone you knew was f.cked 6 months ago??

I do feel your pain...I'd be pretty gutted too, if this happened to me.
As for fixes, this is the fourth thread you've started on various forums (that I could find) and I can tell you, the answers are going to be the same. What I would suggest, if you have exhausted every possibility and followed every guide to the letter...just go buy a new phone. There are heaps of them on eBay and electronics stores all over the world are flogging them off at ridiculously low prices. Imo, you're really better off starting from scratch.
Just flash the downgrade.img and run the ruu. It's the only fix. If you can't flash the downgrade img, go back to the troubleshooting thread and tell them there exactly what happened. Simply saying "with no luck" doesn't help anyone diagnose.
Creating a thread on this topic is annoying enough. Openly admitting to recreating it is disrespectful. As with every thread of this nature, I will request it be locked. Please use the troubleshooting guide thread

Ive been trying all week to downgrade the hboot but fastboot commander, android flasher, cannot recognise it with the drivers installed.

More than likely an environment (pc) than phone issue. Scrap those apps, we're better off using command line. Have a read of the adb and fastboot faq via my signature. Skip adb as not relevant.
Then follow the link 777 posted and give us an update there

Correct.. was a driver issue apparently. What i had to do was only install every driver i could find for htc desire, adb, jdk.. all.. and then even with 6.93.1002 hboot i could RUU the 2.3 gingerbread stock from htcdev.com. Now its up and running.. infact im writing this mesage from the desire XD
THANKYOU ALL FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTAND!
Great news!!
I want to point out, and after you've been here a while you'll understand, there are a lot of people (noobs) that will ask the same old questions over and over again, "Which ROM is best?", "My phone is broken, how do I fix?" etc, and it get's really, really annoying. This is why people were a little rude with you and why your first thread was closed. In the end, all it took was some time, research and a bit of thought and you got there. And I'll tell you what, you really got thrown in the deep end with the phone you were given...from here on in, anything else should be a walk in the park!
Please don't take anything said personally, it's just a matter of frustration at seeing the same old again.
I have no doubt you'll be ripping into noobs one day too, lol.
Now go enjoy your phone!!

SEARCH. READ. AND NO NOT WRITE OUT OF LAZINESS.
Is what you can do. The Desire Q&A quite literally could not make it any easier for you....
I'll give you a tip... see that thing called "Troubleshooting"? Yeah it's quite useful when you need to "troubleshoot".
I have HTC One X and it has Android 4.1.1 installed. I'm trying to root this device but I'm facing "Too Many Links" error and it did reboot and delete system data but when I check this device from the app "Root Checker" it says " this device is not rooted and also many other softwares give the same error . I did as on HTCdev instructions and as well as HTX One X toolkit, but either didn't work. Can you please tell me what should I do? Any easy way to root this? I think there is some error... Plz do help

Hi mate,
I Just did mine, took my time even though it only took 10-15 mins max. Stick with one guide stop going back and forth, there is some excellent guides out there, look in the tutorials. Also I will tell you what guide I followed if I am allowed to do so, as I cant remeber if I followed it from a link on this forum. However it is on a different site not a forum but a different site.

searching "four triangles" in this Q&A thread alone gives plenty of results. google "htc desire four triangles" will find even more. pretty sure most people with this situation have solved their problem, so not sure why nothing works for you.
try Bortak's Troubleshooting guide, stickied to the top of Q&A. it's a step by step guide for virtually everything
if you still can't get it to work after searching and trying things and you need more help, when reporting issues, you need to give a few more details. it makes it much easier for us to focus our advice
- what, if anything, have you tried already?
- what rom were you trying to install?
- did you full wipe before installing?
- was your phone correctly setup according to rom's instructions? (for instance: hboot, sd-ext partition)

One does not simply enter RUU mode by simply trying to install a custom ROM. You were trying to flash a RUU, weren't you?
