On behalf of all the visitors and members on here a HUGE thankyou to all that have made fixes/helped newbies *hand up*/complied guides etc.
I foolishly commented previously that samsung should be acknowledging us as beta testers but the community have outdone samsung's own staff by working through the in's and out's of the device. It is the others that go beyond testing the FW and develop these amazing fixes/guides/help, and should be employed by samsung or given freebies!
You are all clever, kind and helpful!
Please sign on if you have been helped or improved your amazing android handset and let the guys/girls know their time has and does mean a lot to us that enjoy the benefits of hard work.

Cant thank you guys enough!
Its made the difference between an awesome phone and a faulty return
Samsung owe you guys!
XDA turned my super phone into a super phone . You rock.
Agreed, this is definitely (currently) the fastest growing device community on XDA (and it's not an HTC device!), and perhaps the only one that's worth checking every day or more for the constant stream of beta firmwares, fixes and mods.
Cheers to everyone for helping test the firmwares and work everything out to make the phone better than it was brand new.
Big thanks in particular to:
- Mimocan (ext3/4 lag fix)
- Paul, aka MoDaCo (first custom rom and awesomeness as always)
- Setenza01 (the SamSet custom roms that appear almsot immediately after each firmware leak)
- HackDown (new Hackeclair custom roms)
- Ykk_five (latest lag fix with 2200+ Quadrant score)
- Madmack (simple but brilliant AMOLED notification dot idea/app to fix lack of led light)
- All the various mods and FAQ writers who are able to understand not everyone is a 1337 h4x0r and provide guides to get us up to speed
- The Cyanogen Mod team starting work on official Cyanogen for Galaxy S
- And of course samsung-firmwares site for providing us with the lovely new firmwares every other day
I wish there was a way to thumbs-up or rep up anyone helpful here too. Who needs Samsung customer support or devs when this forum exists?
Agreed, I too feel the need to give my thanks. I now use a couple of one-click fixes and the samset 1.9b JM5 and I'm happy like a child! And so user-friendly too, I can only imagine the work behind these things.
So thank you! I will definitely give some thanks via paypal as well, cause you guys truly deserves it!

I am usually not very active on the forums, but I am sure there are thousands like me who just lurk to learn and we are all very thankful. This forum is reason enough to buy an SGS, makes the device so much FUN, not just work.
I would like to add a special mention to Koush for the very elegant Clockwork Mod and Rom Manager
+1
Special thanks for mimocan, ykk_five and paul from modaco who's files and instructions I've used most.
I also would like to give special thanks to ykk_five for the excellent idea to supercharge the phone. Not forgetting RyanZa for his very well crafted one touch lag fix. Kudos to all! Well done!

Agreed. HUGE thanks for making the SGS what it was SUPPOSED to be in the first place
UPDATE!! Ric is back on board and actively working on Azrael 4.0!!! THIS IS INDEED GREAT NEWS! I am going to leave this thread open just to continue showing my support for his work and would appreciate it greatly if every Azrael user continues to show support here in case he ever needs to be reminded again. Thanks to all that contributed in persuading him to continue developing this awesome Rom!
So Ricsim78 has recently posted in his thread for the Azrael Rom that due to too many complaints to his Rom that he may or may not end up hanging up the towel for good and ending the development of his Roms. Personally this saddens me. So i ask here.....Do you use any of the Azrael ROMS?? Did you use one and switched due to issues?? Should he continue to build his ROMS??? Read his original post .......

I am going to make a few different versions of Azrael X Final, keep this thread updated as progress is made, but I think I have been shown the way by the community here.
I appreciate all the people who do support me. I am forever grateful but I am pretty disgusted by the acts of some people on here. There are lots of ROM options here, so I am sure there is a good new one to pick up.
Nothing lasts forever; maybe my decision will reverse, maybe not. But as it stands, I begin work on one final release of Azrael X. It will be called just that and may well be my last public release of my ROMS."""""
Some may have issues with his Rom but i have not experienced any of these issue nor have any of the other 15+ HTC EVO's that I have flashed his Rom to. Plenty have requested that he use a different base for his Rom. I disagree with this as well. His Rom is plenty fast and plenty stable and if you have problems with how he makes his stuff.....try something else or learn how to develop your self. Its that simple. There are PLENTY of other options to chose from. If your like me and your incapable of developing your own stuff....take what you cant get and thank these fantastic developers that do everything they can to make our good phones the best phones they can be.
IF YOU VOTE ANYTHING OTHER THAN YES, PLEASE DO US ALL A FAVOR AND POST YOUR REASONS HERE. PLEASE LIST ANY BUGS YOU EXPERIENCED. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU THAT PARTICIPATE.
I will only use Azrael roms....Ric's support for his roms is secound to none!!!!

yea you said it. 10 fold.
Yess!!! Thats what im talkin about!!! Everyone show your support for this amazing rom here and maybe, just maybe we can convince him all his hard work has not been in vain!!!! (cross your fingers azrael lovers!!) thanks guys!!
Ok so I flashed my Evo about a month ago and I tried a few different ROMs and I have been on Az's for the whole time. I love it and won't flash anyone else's ROMs now. Please don't go Az.
Ric should do what makes him happy. I did however vote for how much I like his work though and the selfish part of me wants him to keep making them. If he were to ask me, which he hasn't of course, I would say to always listen with an open mind, but not to ever worry or sweat about what the negative folks have to say and concentrate instead on enjoying the process of his work and the majority of us who enjoy it. Here's to you Ric, thanks for everything that you've done so far, I will appreciate it and you no matter what.
I personally don't use his ROMS but I do think losing a Dev from the community because of a few bad apples is poor form. It's too bad he feels this way and I think this thread is an awesome show of support!
I love his roms. I personally love the way sense looks and he keeps that look. Its snappy reliable and awesome on battery life. I hate animations and this rom has the best ones I've ever seen. I use the phone heavily and at 11pm it still has 40% on the stock battery. Everyone says there rom has great battery life and they don't but AZs Rom does. I would like him to continue his dev work but if he must go then that's that. And we should remember his awesome work.

I have been a supporter since the day I rooted my phone. I have had no issues at all and definitely hope he changes his mind. Excellent work and thanks for your passion.
It is my ROM of choice and now use it exclusively.
I love the X rom...
I think the trouble most people have is from the different kernels. I run his rom with the stock #15 kernel. It's the only one that flies on my Evo. Any other kernel sucks!
I use it, and its the only rom ive had NO problems with. Id be very disappointed to see the development of this rom stop.
Az I used 3 other roms before flashing yours, and yours is the one that I liked best. I tried a few of the other roms from the devs that I liked on my hero but I didn't like theirs as much as I love yours. So if you do decide to go please add me to your mailing list. I would be honored.
P.S. I check every day to see if you have posted an updated rom.
Take care my friend

for me is the best so far, even convinced my co-workers to give it a try, and they love it too
I have never used Azrael's ROM, but that's just because I've been stuck on a different ROM for a while now, and haven't strayed from it yet. It saddens me to hear of this, possibly losing a dev from the community. I love having so many options for different ROMs, and I find them all to be great, and have different tweaks and features that fit different scenarios. I have never heard anything bad about Azrael's ROM, just the oppositte actually, people praising it. I am not up to par on the type of comments people were saying about it, that prompted his (for free!!!) decision, but I find that terrible. People should show nothing but respect and support for the devs here, and the hard work that they put in. And as far as I know, it seems that most of the devs here work together, and trade info and what not. I hope that people step up and show him support so that his decision can be reversed.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and that is what the thread voting and rating system is intended for. BUT there is a very small handful of members here that need to learn to show some respect! Life isn't perfect and neither is each and every custom ROM. Those who down rate a ROM thread because they have some technical difficulties are morons!
I have yet to see a ROM thread where the dev does not ask the community to please report any issues you find. So how can anybody be so dumb and down rate just for spite?
Rick, I can totally understand how you must feel to put a ton of pride and effort into this nice custom ROM to have it all crushed by a few idiots who can't see past their own selfish moronic ego's. It's a shame these members can't somehow disappear and take their ungrateful selves far from this community and never come back! They will surely continue this childish behavior on other ROM threads. This community would be much much better off without this small handful of ungrateful [email protected][email protected]$!!! Please forgive my French...
Do what you think is best Rick, I totally understand. My advice is to sleep on it a few days and start over... there's always new things coming down the pipes and mabe one day you'll feel better about your much appreciated work. Don't let a couple of dumb punks distract you. We all know your work is at the very top of the list without a doubt. Those couple of spiteful members casting bad votes means nothing to this community. Believe me we ALL know you are the real deal when it comes to your work and awesome support!
Yes and i have never had a problem with his Roms. Hope he never leaves. Rick you rule!
a few words
I've been a longtime Lurker who does not post anything but I had to give this man some much needed appreciation. Hands down this Rom is the best that I have tried here. Its silky smooth while maintaining speed and awesome battery life. I really hope he decides to keep developing but I cant fault him for choosing not to. By the way I just donated to you ric. Hope this helps out the coffee fund.
The ONLY issue I had with his 3.0 rom was the tethering. Not the hotspot but the Android tethering. To this day Im not to sure what happened with it as it just quit on me one day. I didnt blame the rom itself if people read my posts, but I also know I sure as hell wouldnt vote someone down (whatever that is actually lol).
My little brother was talked into (by me), into using his 3.1 and he loves it,cept the android tethering is not working for him either. So other then the tethering issues (which im now leaning more towards rom issue, as im now running Mik and its working again flawlessly), his works been pretty awesome.
Hello P930 Devs,
Thank you for the great work so far. Things seams to be pretty stagnant for our phone waiting for CM9 stable and official ICS release.
A little background. I work for a PCB assembly shop and stumbled upon the AOKPCB ROM reading through other device's forums on XDA. I would love to port this ROM to our phone however I have no knowledge or experience to do this.
I was wondering if one of you would be willing to take this up as a project? I would be very grateful and will help in any way I can. Or hold my hand while I try and do this myself (I have no idea where to start ).
I've also contacted the ROM's team for support.
Thank you in advance for anyone willing to help.

Thanks NO!NO!. It's good to know that some work has been done for the AOKP on our phones. However it seams that that thread/ROM hasn't had any activity in a while.
I would love to pick up where they left off. However, as I mentioned before I'm not a developer and have no idea where to start but I am willing to learn.

An end to an era - RIP Gummy
Well guys I think I am done with Gummy. It has been fun but too costly on mine and family’s time. Over the last few months I have really lost interest and this has become more of a job than something I did for fun. Adam and I have talked and we both agree that the whole project has just burnt us out. To do a proper Gummy with JB would require way more work than I am really willing to put into it at this point.
I am not quitting completely, I am just done running a project. I am sure you will see me here and there helping other teams/friends out. It was fun while it lasted but everything has to come to an end.
Hate to see this happen ... I've run nothing but their work from day one on this phone, it has always been flawless and packed with features. I will stick with the Linaro3 build for now I guess and not migrate to 4.1 until I find out whose is the best out there with some of the features like added buttons and such that I have grown accustomed to. Not into tweaking power settings and such.
Thanks guys for all of the awesome time and work you had put into the community. You were truly under appreciated and will be missed.

I am looking for a recommendation for a rom with a focus on High Performance/Battery Life.
I would like it to be clean of junkware and as close to stock android as possible. Can you guys help me out. The sheer amount of variety available on here is making my head spin!
Any Dummy Guides you could point me too would also be greatly appreciated. I am familiar with the process but I came from a Xperia Play where it was much easier to keep track of the roms that fit my needs.
Sir, recommendations are not going to help you...due to so many variables from one user to another, best bet is read the threads for ROMs here if you are looking for stock:http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1633 , btw you will see lots of clean ROMs some have been cleaned more than others. This is due to the makers/OPs of these ROMs set their ROM to their liking, as stated just read and read, then flash and test the ROMs of stockish you are looking for...it may seem like it is overwhelming but this why I say do your homework the flash.
Good Luck, and do not go by other recommendations go by your own experience. And as for as "dummy guides" the OPs of these ROMs are very detailed. Thanks and Happy Flashing.
