Arc S - CM10 - Aborted Installation? - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I was just trying to install CM10 on my Arc S (The Alpha version) when this message came up:
E:Error in /sdcard/root/Arc Jellybean Alpha.zip Status 7.
Instalation aborted.
What am I doing wrong?
Also what do I do now. Its just stuck at the Sony screen with out me being able to return to CWM.
Thanks.

bump.

Everytime when I get the status 7 error message. I will follow these steps.
1. Flash the stock rom (in my case .42 firmware ftf) through flash tool.
2. Use the mobile for 5 to 10 minutes.
3. Turn off the phone. Connect in fastboot mode.
4. Falsh the JellyBean (FXP, Arc Fusion or Lupus.) kernel.
5. Enter into Recovery, Flash the ROM, gapps and fix.(if any).
6. Reboot.
For FXP CM10 fixes, look at the thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1918244
Hit "Thanks" if I helped you.:good:

[Q] [ROM] Arconium 3c HELP!

Hi, I have problem with ROM Arconium 3c with AROMA installer on my LT18i.
I have official androdid 4.0.4 with this kernel -> Stock ICS Kernel 4.1.B.0.431 with CWM 5.5.0.4 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1680793).
My LT18i is rooted, bootloader is unlock, but the problem is: When I install mantioned ROM, I reboot my device, but mobile show me just SONY logo and that is all. Nothing more happens. Where is the problem?
Thank you for report !
re-flash kernel.
Can you enter cwm?
sinkster©
I re-flash kernel so many times. I do it with fastboot. I copy my kernel to fastboot folder (where I was unlocking bootloader). And then I open CMD in this folder (shift + right button on mouse) and type fastboot flash boot boot562v2.img and ENTER. Everything is OKAY.
I shut down my LT18i and power on again, and during booting press any key and enter do cmw. In cmw I do wipe data/factory reset and wipe dalvik cache and install my ROM from SD card.
I install rom with AROMA installer, where I check defaul install, chose my LT18i and Superuser and install. When installing finish, check reboot. After reboot my LT18i show me SONY logo and that is all. Sony logo is still on and nothing happens.
Sorry for my english. Thanks
did u try flashing other kernels? or try to flash stock kernel from official ftf file..
I try this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1680793 for LT18i v2.
After that I try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591279
But I can not use kernel from oficial ftf file, isn't it? Cause kernel from oficial ftf file is without cmw, no? Or If I once ROOT my LT18i, cmw is there forever?
Becasue I update my android on 4.0.4 with flashtool. Then I use first one kernel and do ROOT. After that I flash baseband on 70 and install ROM.
Or give me a kernel what can I use.
My phone -> (Android 4.0.4, 2.6.32.9-perf [email protected]#1, 4.1.B.0.431) - official Android withou ROOT for now.
Can someone help me? please or tell me, which kernel I can use for Arconium 3c ! I want my LT18i stable, full working, without problem. SO SIMPLE !
Try doomlords ics kernel it works for me with arconium 3c

OK, Arconium 3c is going. I use Stock ICS Kernel 4.1.B.0.431 with CWM 5.5.0.4 [Max CPU Freq fix], baseband 70 and arconium 3c boot up. But I have another one problem. When I want to add widget on home screen, some of widget not show, or just show their silhouette (like digital clock or some toggles).
And when I connect my LT18i to PC (with USB) PC Companion not recognize my phone.
When I solve these two problems, everything will be OK. Thanks

Well you could always ftf to stock and just root and try again this will help with conflicts of old files and kernels and you can start fresh

CM9.1 ZEUSC For r800x cdma has the kernel &CWM in it!!!! along with the rom !!so read below
Simple fix is stay away from JB roms they are still too new so you are going to run in to many bugs..etc Besides alot of people here treat the 800x like its a red headed step child here.
lucky for you i have bricked my phone many times and brought it back from the grave.
Step 1 is you bootloader unlocked? If yes. it doesnt matter what rom you have on it now. because you can do what you please with it.
Step 2 are you using flash tool? if yes flash Kernels first before flashing a rom
A good rom i recommend is Zeusc CM9.1 still has bugs but it is stable.
download it here Google get.cm then click Zeusc cm 9.1 is the latest stable release. also download Gapps Signed for Ics 4.04 Because you will need to put it on you SD card later along with the CM9.1 zip.
Step 3 download it and extract the boot.img file from it and then put a copy of the zip intact on your SD card. put your phone in USB MODE TO DO SO..
Step 4 open up flash tool . if you dont have it google "flash tool androxide".. it should be on Cnet make sure its the newest version...
Step 5 power your phone off... Go to my computer then C: drive look for flashtool click on drivers and install them for your phone. along with fast boot and flash mode... 3 total boxes to check... once installed move to step six
Step 6 plug you phone in VIA USB CORD while HOLDING THE SEARCH BUTTON . IF YOU DID IT RIGHT YOU SHOULD SEE A BLUE LIGHT.
Step 7 look at the logbox of flash tool is should say it detected your phone and display info. Click the LIGHTNING BOLT ICON( Flash Button)
then select fastboot mode.
next click "select Kernel to flash" button then select the boot.img file you extracted from the zip folder. earlier in step 3
if you did it correct it will flash the boot image to you phone along with the CWM recovery to you bootloader. once it says sucessful.
unplug your phone. hold the power button to reboot it when you see the free xperia logo come on hold the volume down button. till it goes in to recovery mode.
step 8 erase your "partitons" and "cache" then select "advanced" clean your "dalvik cache" too. next select install from zip folder then select the zip you want to flash. its the file that says cm9.1 zeusc. the file i told you to put on your SD card.
install it to your phone!!!! after that do not reboot until you flash the google apps zip on you sd card the same way you did the rom..
THEN ONCE YOU INSTALLED BOTH REBOOT YOUR PHONE FROM CWM RECOVERY BY SELECTING REBOOT FROM THE MENU.
NOW YOU SHOULD HAVE A FULLY WORKING ROM ON YOUR 800X
dONT FORGET TO THANK ME !!!

[Q] Xperia arc s cm10 208 return fxp kernel

After flashing fusion 4,5 kernel,cm10 rom 208 ver always return back fxp kernel after rebooting. Unchecked automatic restore in backup & restore.
Fxp kernel is good but i do not have root access
All CM ROMs are pre rooted. Reinstall the ROM if you want root back
sent via XPERIA™
Update/install from play store. CM Roms are prerooted as said over.
Sent from my LT15i using birds.
Thanks guys but what means "prerooted" .
I just cannot flash fusion kernel becouse cm10 return back fxp kernel when rebooting, and this hapens only with fxp208, this is first problem with this rom.
Second is that with fxp kernel I cannot have root access but if I flash fusion 4,5 I have.
Thanks in advance
Pre rooted means the ROM is rooted already.
As for your problem, can you list the steps you did to flash the kernels?

[Q] Can't put CWM onto my Xperia Arc after using EMMA

Hi,
I have tried everything I've read so far and I still can't get the phone to boot into recovery.
I flashed the latest Stock ROM using Sony Ericsson 'Emma' flashtool.
Then I rooted using eroot and I have confirmed the root with the app Root Checker.
I installed ROM Manager but it says my device isn't recognised.
Also installed X-Parts and even though that said ClockWorkMod install was successful it still won't boot into recovery.
I have tried holding down various combination of keys whilst powering up but I don't even see a blue light appearing.
Is there any way to get CWM onto my Xperia Arc (LT15i) please?
Thanks for any advice

Hi popthosegaskets, thanks for replying. How would I go about finding the right kernal and how do I flash the phone if I can't get into recovery please?
I did flash my phone before with CM 9 but I've completely forgotten how to do it.
Thanks again

The kernel will depend on your ROM, so if you're using stock ROM you can flash a stock kernel with CWM on it. LuPuS stock kernel and Advanced stock kernel are two examples of stock kernel that have CWM.
Most custom ROM kernel should have CWM installed. Custom ROM will also come with its kernel so flash that and you should have CWM on your phone.

Hi popthosegaskets, thanks very much for helping me. I was wondering if you could tell me where I'm going wrong trying to install a CM Rom please. I've tried both CM 9 and CM 10 but the former caused the boot screen to flicker and flash and when I tried to install CM 10 I just got an error in CMW saying error in sdcard/cm10.zip (status 7).
The problem stems from me experimenting and putting on the Jellybeanv4 Rom. I found that the Settings button didn't function and overal performance was slow so that is why I'm trying to flash back to a Stable CM Rom.
These are the instructions I followed using flashtool.
1. Download rom, patch and gapps from Downloads and put in SD card
2. Flash Xperia Arc S 4.1.B.1.13 Vodafone DE firmware via flashtool (For increasing system and data memory for Arc user and latest BB) Must
3. Flash included FXP kernel or any CM10 based kernel using fastboot
4. Boot into CWM
5. Wipe factory reset (Data & Cache)
6. Go mounts and storage
7. Format /system
8. Flash rom then patch and at last gapps
9. Reboot
10. After booting 1 time you can flash addons if you want
Is it a problem with a conflict with the Vodafone DE Firmware and CM Rom?
Thanks again for your help and advice
I have same problem...
Same rom and same instalation guide...
Any solution to get in CWM?

trying {Arc/Arc S}[DEV][KitKat 4.4.4][CM11.0] LegacyXperia now.
their install process:
Requirements:
* Have the stock ICS 4.1.B.0.587 full ftf flashed (doesn't matter if you have flashed it in the past or if you flash it before installing cm11.0, it will work both ways)
* LT15i (Arc) users need to flash LT18i (Arc S) ftf
* MT15i (Neo) users need to flash MT11i (Neo V) ftf
Steps required for correct installation (order is important):
1: Flash boot.img in fastboot & reboot into recovery
1.1 (optional): If the device is not booting, reboot to bootloader again and run:
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
2: Enter recovery, go to mounts and storage
3: Format /system, then /data and then /cache (Important step!)
4: Flash update zip
5: Flash gapps (recommended package is the one provided in the link below)

Oh, you are misunderstood my question about the list.
My wife's Arc S (lt18i) is using LegancyXperia CM11 20140906 without any problem.
Here is my list of zips when I flash it. ( Only list the zip order )
1. LX CM11 ROM zip, currently 20140906
2. Micro-Modular package from PA-GApps, maybe Nano next flash.
3. Play Services / Play Games Update Module Module package from PA-Gapps too.
4. SuperSU flash zip from SuperSU official thread
If you still can't make it work, you may ask questions in LX CM11 thread, it's active and many discussions in it.
Hope you can make your li15i work again and enjoy CM11.

Hope you can make your li15i work again and enjoy CM11.

i did some research on xda and google. normaly cm-10-20131006-NIGHTLY-anzu lastest offical was giving same touchscreen error.
replaced cy8ctma300_fwloader, touch_anzu_sony_type1.hex, touch_anzu_sony_type2.hex, touch_anzu_sharp_type1.hex, touch_anzu_sharp_type2.hex with original ics ones.
added cy8ctma300_fwloader -dev /sys/devices/platform/spi_qsd.0/spi0.0 -no_condition line to hw_config.sh suggested here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46672028&postcount=23
